SMS Backup CAB - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Anyone have the CAB Install for SMSBackup? I used it on my TYTN to backup my SMS and I need it to Restore on my new TYTN II.
Thanks in Advance

just download PIM Backup search Xda for it. It backs up everything including SMS and (MMS) I believe

Yes, but MMS only in separated folders.
If you have MMS 4.0 (HTC Official ROM have this one), then take the objects from your MMSs and put on the SD Card, so you don't loos.
Cheers

Found a version on the XDA FTP server HERE....dunno if it's the same one you used to do the backup with?? Give it a go, see what gives
@austinsnyc - the OP didn't ask "what's the best program for backup up contacts, SMS, etc"....they asked where they could find the program they had already used to do a backup in order that they could do a restore
@etijburg - the best "PIM" backup you'll get for nothing is the one that @austinsnyc mentioned; DotFred's PPCPimbackup, which you can get from HERE for future backups
Cheers,
Mark.

Didn't Work

Calendar from WM2003SE to WM6

Hello,
I have backuped my calendar in WM2003SE. Then, I have installed WM6 and I can't see any option to restory any backup. Is there special application needed? If so, I'd be grateful if you can provide it to me. How do I restore calendar from WM2003SE?
EDIT: I have installed "Mobile Backup" for WM6 but it doesn't find my backup from WM2003SE

What application did you use to perform the backup in WM2003? There is no native application so you must have used something else to do it.
Argh - it's not my PDA and I was convinced it was pre-installed. Something like xbackup. Am I right?
The name of backuped file (I've chosen to backup ALL DATA) is "CompactFlashBackUpNew"
EDIT: Couldn't find that xbackup on the web, can anybody provide it? thx in advance

If I remember correctly xbackup was included in the original i-mate pda2k ROMs. I think that is the application I used to have. It was a 3rd party application that was included by the distributor of the phone. I have never seen it available anywhere other than from I-Mate. If you can restore back to WM2003 and then download and use a different application (or better yet sync to a PC) then upgrade you will be far better off.
hi, I use pimbackup from we2003 to wm6 and it works
same problem i can not get my xbackup contact back
is there any hope

How do I export SMS's from Touch to my Diamond?

Hi
I want to transfer the SMS's text messages on my HTC Touch to my HTC Diamond. I have look on various forums and tried various software OEExporter & SMSexporter but no luck.
HTC's website says 'It can't be done at the moment' but is it possible & how?
Please if can anybody help!
Try to save your cemail.vol on Touch and restore it on Diamond
To save your cemail.vol on Touch, try to move temporarely your .vol on internal storage (see my post on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411087) and for restore on Diamond, try to do the same before copy it
Just delete or rename the registry key to "restore" the original location
Good Luck

Just use PimBackup 2.8 from this site. Export the sms on your touch and import them on the diamond.
TDO
Be carreful, Pimbackup just export SMS, not MMS (pb with attachement)
But Pimbackup is the best solution to do this
To restore attachement with "my method", just restore Windows\Attachment and My Documents\UA Caontent directories (from Touch to Diamond)
Sebastien
Hi,
I've successfully used the mentioned reg key, to move the DbPath to another location or file name. Than I've copied back a cemail.vol to the original location. However, it never shows the SMS in my old cemail.vol.
Reason is:
I've made an ROM upgrade from original (slow) T-Mobile ROM to the latest Dutty, posted here in the forum.
I've made a backup of the device before that using SPB. It created an .exe backup and I've extracted the cemail.vol out of it.
I'm deadly missing my old SMS that should be stored in the cemail.vol, right?
Can someone help me to retrieve all those SMS from my cemail.vol (if it's in there?)
Thanks a lot guys - I've been trying since two days now
Regards,
J
i recommend using Jeyo Mobile companion, PimBackup didn't seem to save my threading on the SMS
And it also does contacts, emails etc etc

Touch Diamon PC Suite?

Hey guys,
Have decided to give my Diamond another whirl after falling out with my LG Renoir but am using a new laptop as the one with the active sync etc......... broke........ and I cant find the "get started" cd with everything on!!!
Anyone know if I can download the active sync etc from somewhere?
Its free from Microsoft
Dont suppose you have a link?
Sorry for being a pain in the backside.
Ohh found it. Thanks.
Is the back up program etc included in active sync?

No, since ActiveSync 4.0 there's no backup feature in ActiveSync! If youÄ're looking for Sprite Backup, it must be on a separate CD by HTC! But you could find it on HTC's website in the e-Club section, I think!

I had a look on the HTC site and when I put my serial number in it said my device is not suitable for this download!!???
Then you haven't an original HTC Touch Diamond!
Make a search through the whole Diamond section and you will find a proper serial number!
Ahh ok, will have look, Thanks!
I have downloaded PIMBackup but thats on the phone itself, do I have to backup the info to my PC if I want to do a ROM update??

If you don't sync with ActiveSync, it's better to do that for not to lose your PIM data (SMS, Mails, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks)!
I have downloaded Activesync and have it running and syncing ok.
Have also downloaded a trail version of Sprite Backup.
Would this be ok to do a ROM update? (or flash, whatever its called! lol)
If you only want to backup your contacts, messages, calendar and tasks, I think that PIM Backup 2.8 is all you really need for this job!
Back up them onto your Internal Storage, flash the desired ROM and import your data with PIM Backup again!

yes, i upgraded to energyrom phoenix. but im nt using tf3d at all! i disabled it for spbmobileshell
My bad, it's not sense PIMBackup has problems with.
It's Windows Mobile 6.5. There are numerous threads here on XDA reporting problems with PIMBackup.
But then again, the program hasn't been updated in two years, it a little outdated and problems are to be expected at some point.
I suggest you revert to an older ROM, and backup your contacts using something like MyPhone from Microsoft, or sync it to outlook.
These will definitely restore your contacts when upgrading to a newer ROM.
Or, if you do not want to revert: you can extract the contents of the PIMbackup file, rename the extension from pib to zip. Inside you will find all your backuped info, including a file with all contact info. I'm not sure how you can use it tho.
Might want to make sure that your SIM contacts are not hidden. If not all of the contacts were on-phone contacts by default Energy has his SIM contacts hidden. You should be able to go into Start/Tools/Tweaks/TouchProTweak

i did that. i read that its actually a zip file. and after extracting it, i can use excel to edit the information inside. but the problem comes in here. when it is extracting the contacts file, they said its damaged or corrupted. guess thats where the problem came in.
If the file is really damaged it's a showstopper.
Is excel telling you the file is damaged? I made a backup myself and although I can open the file in excel there is a lot of jiberish I cannot use for extraction.
You can try and open it in a simple app like notepad or wordpad.
The real contact info is scattered around the file contents, but you might be lucky and extract the most of it.

contacts from WM to android

what are you guys using to transfer them over?
I used lookout. backed up my contacts then download lookout from the android market and restore.
There is an application called Sprite Migrate than you run on Windows Mobile, then convert on pc, then run on android.
However, I cannot find the latest version in the market... The link from the sprite site to download the apk is for an older version
Its on spritesoftware dot com
The version on the site downloads:
Sprite-Migrate-0.2.1.13.apk
I need version 0.3.0.17. How can I source this? I've posted a question on the sprite site, but nobody seems to help out there...
Thanks

If you have internet, this is the BEST way. It will preserve everything properly (pictures and a.ll)

That's pretty cool, wish I'd thought of that in the beginning. I originally just sync'd my contacts with Outlook, then exported them to a .csv file and imported that into gmail.

I am trying to take backup on my windows device through Sprite Migrate but every time it says "An unexpected error occurs....". I am unable to do so. Any help??
I 've found a way. I was using classic message view. But after switching to the threaded view issues seems to be resolved.
