Am I the only one who has problems with accidentally hitting the left soft key on the slideout sending partially typed messages?
Is there a way to disable that left soft key?
HTC did me no favor by sliding it down compared to its Hermes placement.
every device may have those problems, just... take care

Greets,
While the subject line really says it all, I have intermittent luck with getting the little picture of the keyboard at the bottom of the screen to actually bring up a keyboard.
Does anyone know what this may be, and how I can reset it (without a soft reboot). I can get it to bring up the selector (which lists the screen keyboard as active), but I cannot actually bring up the keyboard.
Thanks!
Hhmmm
I say try a hard reset...I know that's a sucky thing to do ....but I think it will fix you problem
By reading various posts about problems with accidently answering or rejecting calls I am aware that most people seem to be having an issue with the touch screen (or soft) buttons. However my issue is with the hard buttons. My Touch HD comes with the built-in slide to answer utility but what is the point of this, if at the same time the hard buttons are still working???
Basically, I have a Touch HD and am finding that I am accidently rejecting 50% of incoming calls because when reaching for my phone from a pocket I am accidently pressing the reject call button (the physical one, not the software one!). Even if I don't physically press it, it is sometimes being activated due to brushing itself with something else. I.e. my leg!
Is there a way to disable the physcial answer/reject buttons because I can't find the option? Makes the slide bar to answer/reject feature totally useless!
just some direction to go
There are many alternative screen lock tools out there. Most of them are free. Maybe some of them have your desired functionality?
Touch HD?
... also, this is the Diamond forum... maybe try the Blackstone forum, you may get a better response from there - after all, they're the guys that are using that particular device!

TouchLockPro has the possibility to lock only the Hardware buttons. So that will suit your needs.....
So I spent the last hour or so searching for answers and have yet to find any so I figured ask all of you for some help diagnosing my Tilt. Last week it started to exhibit the following problems, what I need help determining is if the concensis is that I may have gotten the internals damp or if I have a hardware issue.
Symptoms;
1. Down D-pad button no longer functions, down track wheel works fine.
2. Sliding out the keyboard causes the phone to beep 10-20 times before you can actually start to type.
3. Random results when using the touch screen. it works 90% of the time but the other 10% if I try to say open an email by touching "in box" actually opens SMS inbox and starts to scroll through all the existing SMS messages.
I am thinking there could be a problem with the ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the touch screen, or again, it could be wet.
Idea on a solution or further t-shooting to figure this out?
My HTC Dream works perfectly fine, except for this irritating issue of the "DEL" key being not sensitive to the touch. I usually have to press it a few times before it registers. I think it is a physical problem. Does anyone have ideas to actually fix physical keys on the keyboard? Would appreciate any solution (besides sending the phone back that is). Thanks.
I have some issues with my D3 hardware keyboard. It pertains to simultaneous keypresses. I found a great setup for the keyboard for emulators and for the most part it works fine. The phone can handle simultaneous keypresses all day, as long as you press the second button while already holding the first. If you press them both at the exact same time, neither will register at all. It screws me up big time when I need to make diagonal movements suddenly, which is a pretty common scenario in console gaming. Can anyone suggest a solution to the problem or possibly explain why I am having these issues?
I am mapping the dpad to the alt, voice command, shift, and z keys, and i the action buttons are generally mapped to the arrow keys and surrounding buttons. When playing I bring the slider down over the first second and third rows of keys so I don't ever have to look at the keyboard.
