Phone = AT&T Tilt.
I found out about this site from Mobilitytoday this morning and have literally sat here all day playing with the incredible, free and wickedly cool things these people are nice enough to share.
I installed the "Kaiser.HTC.Home.v2.0.720719.Schaps.Color" and cannot figure a few things out:
1. The brightness fix doesn't work. I get, "Access denied..." when copying the "HTCUti1.dll" file to the WINDOWS dir.
2. Is there a better battery indicator than "powertray_489"? I was looking for something that came with the new home screen but couldn't find it.
3. I have the "Kaiser Comm Manager(10 Buttons)" comm. manager installed but the WLAN button doesn't work. It just won't turn on. I tried installing the other comm. managers but they wouldn't install.
4. Is there a way to change from Celsius to Fahrenheitfor the weather portion of the application?
5. When I slide my screen into landscape mode, there is no scroll available at the bottom to see the other items. When it is in vertical mode, the scroll is there. Odd because when I installed the “Kaiser.HTC.Home.v2.0.720719.cab” (black and white version) the scroll was there?!
So there they are. This site is awesome and I’m addicted to it already! Any help would be deeply appreciated!
Here is a big hint for you start reading and use the search button! No one will spoon feed you here all your problems have been talked about a few times so they should be easy to find
However much I would like to help, austinsnyc already said what can not be disputed. Read, read, read... when you are finished, read some more.
Do not concentrate on just the Keiser area, read ALL threads. OS isn't phone specific all the time. A fix or tweak for one phone is good for alot of phones.
I'll give you one answer though...(the easy one of course)
When you choosed your city in the weather app, click menu options and there is a box to check for Farenheit.
Good luck
being a new user myself, i can say that the search function isn't very helpful. however, there is an option in the HTC Home plugin options under weather, where you enter your city, to change it to Fahrenheit. also, to fix the CommMgr there is a registry edit you have to do, you change whatever it says to like WLAN1 or something.
Did you try the search XDA using Google sticky post?
For conveniance here's a link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314616
Also this is not really what we think of as upgrading so I'm moving it to the Kaiser section.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that posted a reply in here. I am trying, still having trouble finding the items but every search brings a new .cab installation to my phone!
Thanks Guys!
I happen to have the WLAn Registry fix bookmarked as I have to run it after every new ROM install. (Scroll down to find it)

I'm looking the way to modify the HTC home, not the HTC home plugin.
I tried to edit the registry but I don't have the string Tabsetting under HTC Home.
I wouldlike to remove the weather tab and to reduce the size of the clock.
Thanks
There is a little app that lets you do that written by emunutz that will do that here is a link.

Are you deaf, or just a little ignorent? The previous poster gave you the exact answer to your question...download the app, tweak the settings, and say "thank you my friends"!
The only other HTC Home plugin you might be referring to, is the small oneline todayplugin that can do almost nothing, and certainly doesn't feature any tabs.....so please; what are you jabbering about? (or be a little more exact as to what you mean)...thanks
where is the link just for the original HTC home plugin screen? when i get my kaiser id like to have it, then use this software as well. or does this software come with it?
is this it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1388377&postcount=609
or is there a better one someone could link me to?
To Moaske
Be quite and not be so offensive!!!!! I told that because i tried that program and i didn't obtain nothing. So, if you're so expert please can you tell me how to reduce the size of the clock with that program?!?!
Thanks
No, you cant change the clock size, because all the other tabs are using the same "height".
The only customizer is the one that has been described.
Other than that, there are several options for you:
1. Hack and create your own tool
2. Contact HTC and beg them to make such changes
3. Dont use HTC Home plugin
4. ...

Ok. Thank you very much for the correct (and quite) answer. Thanks
LOL! this is too funny. calling someone ignorant when he didnt say a thing to provoke it. he asked about customizing and to DECREASE the size of the clock. the link sent him to a program that yes can customize the tabs and the clock color/appearance. BUT it does not allow you to change the size. If he could create his own tool he would have done so. tough internet talk is played out. Im new here but not new to the world of ppc's and forum BS. save the tough **** for the street.
Ehm....my mistake...
But this quote seriously got me thinking that Mr DOC190401 didn't even quite look into to the solution offered, and mixing up two totally different today-plugins....

Anyway; changing the clocksize isn't an option right now (though someone will undoubtly come with something)...
After reading this back today (and the reactions) i might have dimmed my tone a bit more....but after visiting this forum quite some time, it bugs me how many people don't actually read a thread, or do a search, or even want to try something out.... (aspecially since i asked the very same question (almost) just two threads down when you posted, where you also double-posted)
I for one have found that i could solve most of my issues here, without even asking something new.... just read carefully and try something before opening various new threads on the same topic.
Anyway.... sorry for being 'offensive' (as you called that)
No problem
First of all scuse me.
I just said what I said only because in that post I didn't found the solution to the problem of "big size clock". I did various search on this board about that problem without any solution.
So scuse for my tone.
Bye bye

there's a way to disable the big clock?

Absolutely!!! You uncheck the HTC home plug in. Yes thats the only way to do it as of now. Someone is going to build a new plug in that doesnt have the clock in it.
Or...
You can get phoneAlarm and download the Mini Touch skin.
Don't forget to disable the HTC Home Today Plugin!
Works for me...
hooo yessss
mmmmmm
Ok.Thanks. I'll try it
Bigger clock
I wish I had a bigger clock. Just an extra 1 inch would be awesome.
Clock
Now that i have the factory shipped ROM, my clock is much bigger. just what i needed!

Didn't know these existed. Thanks! My Tilt is still going...even after 3.5 years.
Hi everyone,
Im new to the forums. I recently purchased an ATT Tilt about 3 weeks ago, and I am trying to customize some of the settings.
New problem: I am having trouble with the HTC Home Plugin now. It works fine except for the scroll at the bottom. Whenever I scroll down, it pops back up to the top. Any suggestions?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have already noticed how nice most of the members are.
Thanks!
Daniel
I suggest that your spend a few hours reading through the WIKIs and forums here. The Hermes is very similar to the Tilt in most respects, so take a gander at that WIKI too. You'll learn a lot. I still do after a year or so here.
CAB files are what you use to install programs on WM. They are synonomous to a setup.exe file in windows.
Ok great...I figured out how to install both of the programs, but I am having trouble with the HTC Home Plugin now. It works fine except for the scroll at the bottom. Whenever I scroll down, it pops back up to the top. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I saw something about that here in this forum recently, but don't remember exactly what it was. Do a search for it. (try the google version of the search... it's a lot better than the default search here.)
Tried searching...couldnt find it...I checked the WIKI too...theres not much info for the Tilt in there or my problem.
What cab is the Big Clock I see on e all the today screens called and where can I get it for my at&t tilt ??
You can try this: Its called HTC home plugin. if you have vga screen there is a thread for it here on this forum. Just search htc home vga
Thanks that was it
How does one edit what is shown.
I do not need all the extras
is there a way to back this out if you dont like the way it looks?
Dont mean to hijack the thread but I would like to know as well, I like the plug in but the clock is to big any way to make it smaller ?
thanks
God these newbies are relentless... You answer one question (one that could have been solved via search or more over just READING the thread with the pictures of the clock you like. Instead of just looking at the pictures) and you get several follow up posts that could be answered in the same fashion...
Its like answering them just enables their lazy attitude.
Enough rant.
UNINSTALL IT. If you don't know how to do that. READ YOUR MANUAL.
As for the other one, search. Hell, just click through some menus.
And the other, does not get smaller (that I know of) with advanced modification to the plug-in.
Later, Lew
P.S. That was a long over due rant.
Delete MY POST Please
Guys,
I agree...but also disagree...
Agree: newbies/noobs should always read before they ask, use google, use search, rtfm, etc.
Disagree: just ignore the stupid questions, and if you have time, answer them (with a hint to why it's stupid, they might...possibly...eventually...learn! )...
Last but not least: google/search for HHC (HTC Home Customizer), the best HTC Home editor (AFAIK) which allows you to change the font, buttons, etc.
Regards,
Nika.
Hi,
I'm relatively new to flashing and trying different ROMs but with the help of this forum, I think im getting there.....slowly at least.
That was until I installed this application for the big clock on the today screen, im runnning a winodws mobile 6.1 ROM and just assumed (for some reason) this would work.
After installation of the big clock mod, my phone just keeps resetting its self, over and over.
I'm hoping that i can fix the problem by flashing a new ROM, however the phone wont stay on long enough for me to sync it then run the ROM utility.
Is there a way of putting the phone in boot loader then running the flash application from the computer?
Thanks
Hi all.
There is a 47 page thread on this tool but I thought I'd start a new one as it seems to be such a useful tool that newcomers could benefit from, and being here it will hopefully be easier to find!
I've used Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool to:
1. Remove sim contacts from contact view (so no duplicates)
2. Turn down the volume of the starting up wav (so you can reset at work or at 1am in the morning when your partner is asleep!).
3. It works with my Windows Mobile 6.1 (HTcustom doesn't)
4. It is a .cab file (on your desktop it will appear as a ".zip" icon). All you have to do is save it to your desktop, copy it to your device (storage card will do), then tap it and install it on your device.
The link is on at the bottom of page 1 of this thread by Schaps himself:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070
Scroll through the 47 pages on that thread and you will find other language versions that other users have offered.
There are many options available that I do NOT know how to use or benefit from,
so if any experienced users have any tips on how to get the most out of this tool,
your reply to this thread would be most appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Mattster.
Strange... No replies to this thread? No great settings to recommend, no change-of-life testimonials after the first use of the app?
Just installed it and went for first settings change. Let's see if my HTC Pro shall still live after I restart...
cool stuff, gonna try it out now
thanks dude!

I reckon the quietness is because people seem to only leave threads when they are unhappy about something or have a problem!! This tool is very useful. A light version is built into many ROMS these days, but this one has a few extras.
I use it on any ROM to:
1. Increase the width of the vertical scroll bar. My phone is in a leather case, so the extra width makes it much easier when using the stylus.
2. Change the default storage location for photos taken with the camera.
Hope it helps you too!
Am I imagining it or should the screen flip over when I move the diamond to horizontal when browsing on Opera? If it should be, how do I make mine do it?
it should do it automatically
Edit:
Try this ..enter your browser, go to settings, then display and automatic full screen should be marked
Ok, well than I have a problem because it's not. Help!
Try this ..enter your browser, go to settings, then display and automatic full screen should be marked
Full screen was marked. Thanks though...
Ok, I just realised that my battery was very low. Not only was the screen refusing to go horizontal, when it did go eventually go horizontal, the key-pad came up and showed me missed calls!?? Does the diamond go a bit crazy when battery is low? lol!

Buddy:
A word of advice:
Read all the post and threads before you start your own topics.
Dont be lllaaazzzyyyyy, we were all once new to the Diamond.
All the questions you asked since you have become a memeber have been asked and mostly resolved.
Make everyone a favor and explore all the knowledge that has been gathered for Diamond users.
It all there man!
Luck!
Thanks for the post, but I searched for this issue and couldn't find anything.
As you're such a senior member, some help and perhaps at least pointing me in the right direction on this forum would be greatly appreciated.

What usually helps in this situation is do the following:
-Quick fix for the Opera is here: Latestzz version of Opera which I believe is the one on Duttythroy.net
-Uninstall current Opera version and reinstall with 1938.
If that does not work try this:
-Flash ROM. You choose your poison. All ROMS offered are good, it all depends on your taste.
-And then reinstall new Opera version (if ROM does not have it)
Luck!
And remember to search and read!
Thanks for the tips. I should have mentioned that I have Swift v6.0 ROM...
Are you saying that the low battery and crazy web page viewing is common then? Or that the screen not going horizontal is common?

Some bugs on the switchng to horizontal and then starting phone app are common. I believe they dont have anything to do with batts.
You will stumble across multiple bugs, the Jewel is one spoiled brat. But we all love him anyways
(I guess its the price to pay for such an "Open Source" based on liberty device)
Luck!
Does the latest Opera on dutty's webage fix this bug?
Also - and I have searched for this relentlessly - I don't understand how to install cab files, can you tell me where they need to go on the phone before I try to execute the file...
