I love the audio integration into HTC Home, but it appears we only have two choices, Windows Media Player and Audio Manager. I much prefer Conduits Pocket Player and I'm sure others prefer Core Player or something else. Is there a way to get the audio tab of HTC home to work with one of these 3rd party media players?
Any ideas on this one?
I've asked this before in other threads, no answer.
Instead of just asking, I've been looking in the registry, nothing jumps out. One value says which player to use and when HTCAudio is selected it reads "2", but how it knows what 2 is, I have no idea.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
change 2 to a 1 and soft reset that should change it to windows media player
htc audio manager - windows media player...
i would like to use gsplayer
I'm dying to know this too.
I want to use coreplayer. (Posted it as a feature request at the coreplayer site as well.)
PocketPlayer has its own today screen plugin.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if it's possible to change the music launcher in HTC Home PlugIn from WMP and Audio Manager to Pocket Tunes?
I know changing HKLM->Software->HTC->Music PlugIn from 1 to 2 changes the music launcher from WMP to Audio Manager but is there a way to change it to Pocket Tunes?
Would really appreciate it if anyone knows how.
Cheers.
I've searched high and low for this and can not find it. All I am finding is the HTC Audio Manager without album art support. Does anyone know where it is?
It looks like that the Dutty's ROM has HTC AudioManager_1_2-1212.716 that has album art but I cant find the cab for it.
Does it not exist?
Please help.
If this is what you are referring to.

He has a screenshot of Windows media player with Audio manager skin. See in the picture at the top is says "WINDOWS MEDIA". There is no HTC Audio Manager with Album Art as far as I know unless you have Diamond or Touch Pro with Touch flo 3d.
However, you might find something interesting in the Touch Flo 2d forums
Do a search for Touch flo 2d or manila 2d
ok I see. I was taken in by the AudioManager look and not realized it was just a WMP skin.
Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at the manila 2d stuff.
Why do you want audiomanager with Album art support anyway when you can use Windows media that already has album cover support. Or S2P with Album cover support, or TCPMP with album cover support or..... There are many to choose from is what I am saying. You don't have to limit yourself to Audiomanager.
I like the finger friendly interface of AudioManager. WMP is not finger friendly.
I will check out the rest of the apps that were mentioned.
Thanks
As said earlier, you might want to take a look into TouchFlo 2D / Manila...
I just flashed the lastest Garmin ROM with Manila, and it has Audio Manager with Cover Albums. So maybe in the Manila Thread you will find the CAB for this version of Audio Manager (version 2 build 1819.2129, thats what i have).
I also love Audio Manager compared to WMP or CorePlayer, and also it works great with my remote control.
I also Use Mort Player for in the car as it has some really nice big finger friendly buttons + Supports album cover as well. Mort Player is also free
edit: for mort player just download skins from the mort player web page to get the skin for car to get the big buttons skin

I just flashed the Garmin 4.3a rom and my Covert Art does not work in Audio Manager. How did you get it to work? Do you need a jpg in the album folder called something specific?

Yes. Call the jpg "cover" or "folder" One or the other or maybe both will work. Then place the album cover jpg in the album folder. This is the same with WMP - S2P and TCPMP. TCPMP will show some embedded album art sometimes too and I thing so will S2P

i just used this added this skin to WMP and i love it. It seems like WMP works a hell of a lot better than htc audio manager when it comes to bluetooth headphones. i simply had a lot of problems w/ audio manager.
BUT...does anyone know if there's anyway to actually arrange the songs in WMP by the actual song name itself, in alphabetical order? i must say i HATE that, it makes going to a particular song extremely time consuming especiallying since there's no search function or anything

You might want to look for a play list editor of some sort. There are several available that I have seen. I only tried one and honestly don't use it that much so don't really know if I can arrange songs alphabetically
OK I just checked. the Play list Manager I am using can sort the songs alphabetically. I will try to find the link to where I found it but you can try to search yourself it is called Vicsoft PlaylistMgr. If I can't find the link I will look for my copy of the cab and post it here later.
OK I tried doing the obvious searches and not a single hit and I don't have the patience tonight to keep searching online for the link. I really wish I could give credit to the author of this freeware app.
Here is my copy of the cab. It was easier for me to find then I thought.
have fun with it.
edit: I found the link http://mobile-sg.com/software/?p=PlaylistMgr&platform=ppc
Check it out (Lots of screenshots and information and if you feel that this app is worthy of a donation - The author is accepting donations.
thanx for the help man. i download the program, and i can't get it to work at all. it wont open playlists, it'll search for playlists but then wont allow me to open it or edit it. and it wont allow me to save any playlists. i guess i'll have to live w/out alphabetical playlists for a while longer.
hey i downloaded the newer/larger/possibly non corrupted version on their website. finally got everything up and running...even finished all the playlists for the 30+ albums i have on my microSD card. thanx for the help man.
stupid browser, sorry for the double post
Whats a good Media Player like the one on HTC TruFlo3D?
I dont like the S2P also, its a crappy iphone knock off, no offense to the developer but this is coming from someone who had a iphone.
i also try lookin for the HTC Audio Manager and some how i think i downloaded the wrong ver cuz it was rather small on the my screen.

its been asked and answered several times before and varies from person to person....alot recommend coreplayer...
coreplayer is to complex. am looking for something simple but with alot of functionality, am coming from a iphone so am looking for a audio player along that line, so far i like the HTC TouchFlo3D player but thats only enable when u have touch flo on, if i disable touch flo am stuck without music
Players
Mort player maybe? It has some simple layouts and deep features if you dig into it.
I use the WMP most of the time. Simple and already there.
What I would like is a app the sends playback control commands to WMP while another app like GPS is in the foreground. Something like butler that would use swipe L and R (on the joypad surface not the screen) for prev and next track, maybe swipe up to toggle play/pause and down for next play list or album? That would not interfere with most apps and would put and end to 95% of my task switching.
If you're coming from an iPhone and are expecting similar software, there really isn't any. You'll just have to go out and get an iPod Touch. It's not that WinMo media players are worse, they're just different, so if you can't get used to having something different you probably won't find anything you like.
As always, searching is good. To get you started, look for CorePlayer, TCPMP, Conduits Pocket Player, or MortPlayer.
