Why when I hit the music tab does it always say "launch music player". I see the nav buttons there so I would think I could play from there. I have it defaulting to the HTC music player instead of Windows player.
Thanks,
Dan
try clicking on the screen were it says "Launch Music Player"

I have the HTC home plugin installed which has the nice media player laucher on the home screen. But when I hit "Launch media player" it always opens windows media player. I also have HTC audio manager installed.
How do change the default media player, so that when i hit "launch media player" on the HTC home plugin, HTC audio manager opens and not windows media player?
Thanks
You can set this using Kaiser Tweak - see sticky post at the top of this Forum.
E100 Remote auto starts Audio Manager....
...but I want it to start Pocket Music 5 which is the player I use. When I use Kaiser Tweak the default player only gives a choice between Audio Manager and WMP - how can I add Pocket Music to that to be able to select as default
in the music tab i can only get wmp to play the mp3's on my storage card, but i have the files set to be played by TCPMP, i see in the options for the homescreen there is a selection for wmp or audio manager, so i selected audio manager, but that still does't play the mp3's in TCPMP, any way to get the htc home screen music tab to play the mp3's in tcpmp?
bumping to try to get any answer, my mp3's show up in their file as tcpmp, when i manually click them to play, but when i select the music icon on the htc home screen on my tilt they play in wmp, anyway to fix this?
I am obviously a noob- so please be gentle!
I loaded quite few commercial cds onto the windows media player and so I have say 200 songs all alphabetical by album showing on my screen when I go to library and then my music. I would like to choose the music by artist or by genre, but it is not listed anywhere on the screen AND going to options did not give me an option artist or genre. Is there something that I AM NOT doing???
If using Windows media player is going to be so limited I would also like a recommendation of a good music player. I have not even attempted to watch a video but if there is a player that would do both well, that would even be better.
Thanks

I used windows media player to get all my music onto my tilt. Ok I guess I am a noob- I THOUGHT that I would be able to see all that information when in now playing- I see now that I CAN go to album artist and genre in MY MUSIC- thanks for getting me to look a little deeper!!!!
Ok, once the files are onto your device, you need to update windows media player's library on pocket pc.
Open Library page of windows media player on pocket pc, choose menu and then select update library.

Carty..
yea like what carty said...everytime i put new songs i have to update the library for it to show up
i just installed Xperia Media player Panel, everything video, photo worked fine
BUT the music was strange because whenever i play music it will suddenly open window media player to play it
how to solve problem, i hate window media player
Is there some way to make the music play in random? I hate creating playlists and currently it plays songs in alphabetical order by song title. Also, I used Windows Media Player on the PC to sync songs to the Captivate, but many of the songs did not bring their album art over despite it being in the folder on the PC. Any fix for this? On my Tilt 2 I had a WinMo program that fixed this.
Toggle the 'shuffle' button
Does toggling the "Shuffle" button (on the "Now Playing" screen) not work? It's on the left, just above the progress bar - looks like two arrows crossing over each other.
Got it!. Thanks. Don't know how I missed it before.
