Hi,
I followed a tutorial on handleds.org and I've formatted my microsd card:
one partition in fat 16
another in ext3
on the ext3 I've putted a linux kernel from kernel.org and untarred it
on the fat 16 I've putted haret.exe
the tutorial said to put, in fat 16 partition, also a zImage of the kernel...where can I get the zImage? How to compile the kernel for obtaining a valid image for kaiser?
thanks.
P.S.
(haret.exe works)

Is the handhelds.org one known to be stable? Is it possible to have a program similar to Windows Mobile flashers such as BaUpgradeUt.exe and just run it?

There are some suspend/wakeup problems if you have
boardID=0x6 (maybe !=0x5)

It is possible to write to the PXA flash, but nobody has tested it, so the whole system
runs from the MMC/SD card.
Will the original OS run if I remove the card and reset the unit? (Providing there wasnt any unforseen circumstances)

You can think of running Linux on the phone as
of running a wince program. The only difference is
that Linux uses the whole memory and controls all the hardware itself.
When you reboot Linux, then the computer just restarts.
On wince2003 it means a hard reset, because the
wince kernel/ramdisk data in RAM is overwritten, while on wince2005
it is absolutely harmless.
Hello,
Does anyone have any ideia how upgrade under linux?
all the best,
OliveiraJMR.
Next version of HermFlasher will support Trinity devices too:

You mean driver for WinMO-side? I think, it wouldn't work, because of Wi-Fi as SDIO card, and cardreader is not accessable from winMo-side.

Actually I mean driver GSPI8686.dll that is in your windows direcory, that controlls Wi-Fi chipset.
The best would be driver from original ROM, but any other suites I think.
Many thanks.
Thank you I aready found original ROM and extraced the file.

There already is a thread about this, please search and read the forum.
If you put the SDcard in your device the SP will format it if its not the right file system. I believe exFAT, NTFS and FAT32 all work.
I'm using a 64 GB card with exFAT.

Yes its not that fast, I get writing speeds from PC to SDcard of about 8-10MB/s and on phone 12-13MB/s, read speed is just fine, about 20MB/s.
At least its fast enough, in the other thread there are test results posted.
So READ that thread, always SEARCH before you ask, THANK if somebody helped you
