Hi All,
I have a working TTN 6.032 on my UK T Mob VIII, but the postcode (zip) function works in 4 digits only. It's a downloaded copy. What file/folder should I have for the postcodes to work and where should the file/folder be? All help appreciated!
Edit: Now sorted- Zip folder should be in root of SD card not within a TomTom folder.
Warez? I don't think this is the place for asking help for your copied software.
Alright then picky, downloaded from the TT site.
open a support call with tomtom, they'll email you a new copy
Edit - just seen you've solved it

Please post a link to 6.032 on the TomTom website - I've seen 6.030 up there, but nothing later....
TIA,
Richard
Same here, would like to upgrade my legal copy of TTN6 to 6.032 to be able to have it use the internal GPS and not have to go through NMEA. Also I like the icon a lot better!

Well the link to a "copied" 6.032 has been posted - I was responding to the argument that 6.032 can be downloaded directly from TomTom. I posted earlier in another thread on where/how to d/l 6.030 direct from TomTom. I would like to find a similar link for an "official" 6.032.
IMO, you're legal to run any TomTom 6.0xx version if you bought 6.000 - since TomTom really licenses the *maps* to your deviceID and neither changes amongst 6.010, 6.020, 6.030, 6.032....of course I'm not a lawyer

Ok I d/l the tt6 taster version I assume? It comes with with the software and one map to d/l. My question is.....where the heck do I get new maps from? I went to the site and clicked on maps and it says their system is down! It's been down for like 2 weeks now!
I open the prog on my Kaiser and it doesn't give me the option to purchase maps on there. Well at least to my knowledge it doesn't. Where do I go from here? Suggestions? I've searched and searched and all I can find is the "tasters" version. I tried d/l some other cab file for my device but it tells me I need to update my ROM for it to work.
I just want to get some maps dang it!
please!!!!! haha

Thank you! But those come on DVD disc. There is no section where I can purchase online and download map instantly?
I think you may have to install TomTom Home, which is installed on your PC. From there you can purchase maps and install it on your device. I think you can get TomTom home from TomTom's website.
I downloaded TomTom taster for Trinity (p3600) from HTC and installed that. Now to get maps
Try this link for TomTom Home (It's found under the Plus Services tab on their website). Don't forget to download the version for Rider and Navigator 6.
When it's installed, run it when connected to your phone and it will find the GPS receiver. This will pair your phone with your TomTom account (I think this pairing is generated using the IMEI) - you can then buy maps through TTHome which will be associated with your phone.
hey guys!
i "acquired" tomtom 6 for my Tilt, but it only included a US and Canada. I again "acquired" a european map. I copied it over to my SD card where my US Map is, but TomTom did not recognize the map.
What should i do?
Stop "acquiring" maps and buy them from TomTom licensed if you're going to use them.
Piracy is a crime!

Just put the european map in its own folder at the root of your sd card.
you cant put it inside the us map folder.
i tried putting 3 different maps into the root folder, and tomtom only recognized the US map.
piracy can't be a crime if its this easy
aquiring maps can be hard, especially for TomTom, cuz you need to make sure all of your aquired content matches... all numbers match up. so there is your problem, you probably dont have maps that match with the version of tomtom.
For the purpose of this answer I'm going to assume that you have a legal copy of TomTom and it's Maps ...
The Maps should be in the root directory of the SD card and often end in the directory name "xxxx_map".
TomTom's latest version of Maps are at v7+.
TomTom for PDA (or mine, at least) is at v6.x and will not load these maps. If you have TT6 you will need maps of v6.00 - v6.75
TomTom maps of v7+ are designed for TTGo, 5xx, 7xx, 9xx etc. and the TT O/S will be upgraded via TT Home.
In summary, the solution for TT on a TytnII - Use v6.xx maps in the root directory of the SD card.
If you do not have a legal copy of Tomtom, please do not search for answers inside this forum !!.
i need the canadien maps plz

Post reopened.
Happy New Year!!!
Hello everybody... I am a new owner of an HTC touch pro, awesome little unit. Ive been searching hi n low for the Tom tom download link,,, no go, rapidshare has deleted them... anybody know of current links? Be much appreciated!!! When I get spooled up, I will share what I find, just got er yesterday, my eyes are bulging from all the fun
Im not sure if this is borderline warez.
I have tomtom 7.910 and currently running on version 8 maps.
Is posting of the application allowed here but just not the maps - if so, i will post the application.
Sample map and postcodes
Can somebody guide me how to activate postcode search functionality for UK when using sample downloaded map? Is it possible at all? I've downloaded the file from TomTom website, extracted it to various places like Program Files/Navigator, Internal Storage etc. and it still doesn't work.
Any help appreciated
you don't extract the files, just put the files and the folder 'zip' in your tomtom program file
zip being american postcode not zip and is zip file
OK so where exactly should they be? At the moment it looks like that:
\Program Files\Navigator\ZIP\Great_Britain.postal
\Program Files\Navigator\ZIP\Great_BritainPostal.ver
But I tried several other locations as well.

Tomtom by itself unmodified is NOT warez, however there is versions on the web which has been cracked. Those are warez versions of tomtom.
The newer Tomtom7 versions had their map authentication updated, now it authenticates license online. There is versions on the web which deactivates that additional authentication, if you post one of those then it is WAREZ.
Original unmodified Tomtom7 is a free program.
hi everybody! the link for download is not avaiable anymore... where can i find it again?
Today I going on holiday by car and I need tomtom on my diamond.
I want to buy the maps for the diamond so I need build 9029 or 9030 of tomtom.
Does anybody knoes how to get it?
THX
Im using build 9028 and it works perfect.
Why do you need a special build anyway?
I can upload the cab file to rapidshare if you want.
Well i am interested if you can upload it to rapidshare.
Me too....
Here we go:
http://rapidshare.de/files/40108511/TT_Nav_7.450.9028_repack3-vga-black.cab.html
Have fun.
Build 9028 is not supported by Tomtom, and so you cannot buy cards. Yes with build 9028 you can download a free map with this version (small area/city) which works.
Better, you can buy cards via the Tomtom website, but Tomtom Home 2.3 is not working correctly (gives errors) and is needed to install the bought cards. The Tomtom servicedesk claims that version 9028 is not is supported Build 9029 is included in the German O2 rom. build 9030 is included at least in the Dutch Vodaphone rom. The widespread tomtom 7.450 is build 9028.
Tomorrow (july 30 2008) Tomtom ends buying cards with 30% discount and it would be nice for many to buy legitimate cards.
hmmm....
I didnt know that. If you get a link for the 9029/9030 build than please post in here. Maybe someone else will need it too.
But I think there was a cab file here in the forum. Did you do a search?
Ah i already have that file...
It`s the uk map i need!!!
Any idea on which maps to use for the uk with this?
Cheers.
The BLACK 9030 version that was bundled with my Vodafone ROM did not seem to support the widely available (read downloadble from all our sources) maps, activation did not seem to work. The BLUE 9028 version did.
please people, i really need tomtom to buy the maps right now

I'm using the 9028 (downloaded tt7.cab ripped from the Diamond) with TomTom home 2.3 and I bought the maps from a link on this site which takes you to the O2 XDA Diamond TomTom map page
http://www.tomtom.com/products/maps/select.php?D=1094&Language=1&P=394#
Cost me £49 but at least I don't have to f*ck around with hacks and cracks and other sh*t that will infect my PC
you pays your money you makes your choice.......

so no errors and you can update the maps with tomtom home 2.3
Worked a treat...I was a bit dumb in expecting the email sent by Tomtom to give me a download link but after you've paid just go into the 'maps' area of Tomtom home application and it'll have the Western Europe maps sat there ready for download
Oh yeah and make sure you choose the internal storage
ooops just remembered the only other thing I did was copy the Navigator, Voices and the ttnavigator file to the Program Files directory on the phone (from internal storage) it didn't give me the option to install elsewhere....(and setup a shortcut in Windows\Start Menu\Programs for the Tomtom.exe)

Did you know the version of TT7 you have here is a cracked version of the installer?
IGNORE POST IF YOU HAVE READ IT. It's been a long day
When it is a cracked version of the installer ( whatecer that means ) - where do we get a legal version of TT7 for an original HTC DIAMOND TOUCH ?
TomTom does not help

Build 9028 does not work with TomTom Home 2.3....
From what I've read here, build 9029/9030 supposedly works with TomTom Home 2.3 although I have not seen a confirmation.
What we need is someone to post the 9029 or 9030 cab
I am sorry if this has been answered before, but I have tried to search for an answer to this but not found any.
I've attempted to install TOMTOM 5 on my Diamond with no success and any help would be much appreciated.
I have the disc and the path is D:\disc1\tomtom-navigator-5-Benelux\setup. When I run the install, the dreaded message 'TomTom Setup Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience' is displayed.
I copied the whole disc1 folder to the internal storage on my diamond but all the files were read only. Where am I going wrong??!!??
If you want to install tomtom at your phone then you need a .cab file just do a search at this forum and you will find one the only thing is that its a tomtom 7. and I don't believe it will run the maps of tomtom 5 but whit a good search in Google or somewhere else you maid find aswell the right maps.
Willem
Thanks, but what ,cab file? What is a .cab file?
A .cab file is used to install applications on Windows Mobile devices. Only TomTom 7 or later will work with the Diamond as no earlier versions worked with the inbuilt GPS receiver.

Is that the reason I can't get the maps to work on the Diamond I picked up on Friday
Strange as the TT version I have, 5.1, worked great on the internal one on the SPVm700 I just moved away from.
My issue is how to get TT to read the maps. Once I've installed the cab files on the device I can't get them to read the maps on the internal storage. If I try and install the cab files on the internal I can't get TT to fire.
Really don't know where to go next - and dn't want to go back to teh m700 when traveling.
Ta muchly
i think its the location on where you're maps should be placed. On my diamond, the map files are located on the ROOT of the internal storage. Thats the only way it seems for it to be found. So it should be place in : Mobile Device\Internal Storage.
