I have read both SOLUTION FOUND by faria and [READ FIRST] The Definitive Guide to Unlocking & Rom Upgrading G3 Wizards by Dr Puttingham (God knows howmany times) abd been successful until I get to the unloocking part..... i have read the instructions for about 2 months now and finally went f... it and tried. DIDN'T Work for the kid tried 3x already from the first step HELP... atleast I didnt brick it

You have already posted ur question in the relevant thread of Dr.Puttingham's grrrrr8 guide,plz have patience.All the senior members here r very helpfull,even Doc Putts himself goes out in any manner to help,there's no need to open a new thread for it.
Anyways,if u can't understand the method in ( as u say) 2 months,it's really amazing,it's so simply explained.
ok, Plz first post what are the vital details of ur wizard like IPL/SPL...? is it G3 or G4 ?
secondly post exactly where u don't understand,where r u doing wrong,u say 'untill i get to the unlocking part' ? what u mean by this ?
Sorry about that I reckon i'm on here all the time reading and going into over load that everyone was doing the same....
I reckon that my problem is where I need to put the unrared file on the c drive. I had the screen come up 2x but and i had hit u both times but phone never rebooted.... the mda is a G3 and i have never done anything to it ang i got it the day it launched in the U.S. but before i did anything i made sure that it was a G3.

I'm doing this only to make you understand all the steps for 'SIM/CID unlocking' in a layman's language as per described in excellent guides by Dr.Puttingham and Faria."ALL CREDITS" go to these two wonderful guys,who did hard work and taken pains to write these very elaborative and simple to understand guides,by virtue of which thousands of us have benefited from AND THAN 'ALL THE CREDITS'for MACHINAGOD,the MAGICIAN for giving us the magic tool'Lokiwiz02b' BLESS YOU
OK! Let´s shoot.....
- Download "lokiwiz02b.zip" to a folder on your PC.
a) SO NOW YOU HAVE lokiwiz02b.zip file (827 KB) IN A FOLDER OF YOUR PC (Mostly where you usually download software)
Step 1- Unzip lokiwiz02b.zip to somewhere in your computer(Preferably in the root of Drive C:\ where you have your WinXP installed)
a) RIGHT CLICK lokiwiz02b.zip AND SELECT TO EXTRACT TO THE ROOT OF Drive C:\ , NOW YOU HAVE IN YOUR Drive C:\ A FOLDER NAMED lokiwiz02b CONTAINING THE EXTRACTION OF lokiwiz02b.zip
b) DOUBLE CLICK THE FOLDER NAMED lokiwiz02b TO OPEN AND YOU´LL SEE THE FOLLOWING THREE ITEMS IN IT
1) A FOLDER NAMED 'Utils'
2) A ZIP FILE NAMED 'EnableRapi'(70kb)
3) MS DOS BATCH FILE NAMED'Lokiwiz'(3kb)
Step 2- Copy EnableRapi.cab to your Wizard (the phone itself!!!)
a) CONNECT YOUR PHONE TO YOUR PC VIA USB CABLE AND ACTIVE SYNCHRONIZE(MAKE SURE CONNECTION IS ESTABLISHED)
b) RIGHT CLICK ZIP FILE NAMED 'EnableRapi'(70kb) SELECT COPY FROM THE DROP DOWN MENU AND COPY TO ANY FOLDER IN YOUR PHONE(or in My Documents Folder in your Phone)
Step 3- Execute the EnableRapi.cab in your phone. Wait for it to finish.....
a) PICKUP YOUR PHONE AND USE FILE EXPLORER IN YOUR WIZARD TO LOCATE THE FILE THAT YOU JUST COPIED (EnableRapi.cab) AND TAP ON IT, IMMEDIATELY YOU´LL BE PROMPTED TO ACCEPT OR CANCEL THE INSTALLATION, YOU MUST ACCEPT, THEN THE FILE STARTS TO EXECUTE AND YOU SEE A PROGRESS BAR AT THE TOP OF YOUR WIZARD SCREEN, WAIT UNTIL THE EXECUTION COMPLETES (LIKELY YOU´LL GET A PROMPT FOR SUCCESFUL INSTALLATION)
Step 4- Guarantee that your phone is connected via ActiveSync with the computer!!!
a) ACTUALLY YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE HAD A CONNECTION BETWEEN THE WIZARD AND YOUR PC SINCE YOU COMPLETED STEP (2a), ANYHOW MAKE SURE THE ACTIVESYNC WINDOW IN YOUR PC SHOWS THE STATUS AS CONNECTED (CONNECTION AS GUEST IS ALRIGHT, YOU DON´T HAVE TO HAVE A SPECIFIC PARTNERSHIP).
Step 5- Execute lokiwiz.bat
a) NOW IN YOUR PC GO BACK TO THE FOLDER OR THE DIRECTORY NAMED 'Lokiwiz02b' ON DRIVE C:\ THAT YOU GOT ON STEP (1b) AND DOUBLE CLICK THE MS DOS BATCH FILE NAMED 'Lokiwiz' (3kb), REMEMBER YOU HAVE 3 ITEMS IN THIS DIRECTORY OR FOLDER,AS PER STEP(1b)!!!!!
b) 'Lokiwiz' (Batch File) WILL BE EXECUTED AND YOU'LL GET THE MS DOS PROMPT ON YOUR PC SCREEN,(Black CMD Screen,like the one you get when you click Start-->Run-->type cmd)
Step 6)- YOU WILL SEE IN THE BLACK SCREEN (MS DOS PROMPT) IT HAS THE FOLLOWING OPTION.....
U. Unlock
L. Lock
C. CID Unlock (SuperCID)
Q. Quit
Step 7)- To GET YOUR PDA SIM UNLOCKED.....
a) HIT THE 'U' KEY ON YOUR PC KEYBOARD (Watch at the black Screen,letter 'u' will appear written,where it say's 'Type the letter and press enter' at the bottom of the screen) AND PRESS <Enter> ON YOUR KEYBOARD....YOUR PDA WILL REBOOT UPON COMPLETION !!!!!!!
(Wait for your PDA to REBOOT This will get your PDA SIM Unlocked,Now you can put in SIM of any Carrier to use,It will never ask for any PIN/Sim Code)
Step 8)- To GET YOUR PDA CID UNLOCKED
a) CLOSE THE MS DOS PROMPT SCREEN(Black Screen on your Monitor)BY HITTING 'Q' ON YOUR KEYBOARD (Watch at the black Screen,letter 'q' will appear written,where it says 'Type the letter and press enter' at the bottom of the screen) AND PRESS <enter> ON YOUR KEYBOARD IT WILL END
b) NOW RERUN THE "Lokiwiz BATCH FILE" AGAIN AS YOU DID IN STEP(5a)-DOUBLE CLICK THE MS DOS BATCH FILE NAMED 'Lokiwiz' (3kb)...
c) YOU WILL SEE THE MS DOS PROMPT SCREEN(Black Screen) ONCE AGAIN WITH THE SAME OPTIONS AS IN STEP(6).....
d) THIS TIME HIT THE 'C' KEY ON YOUR PC KEYBOARD (Watch at the black Screen,letter 'c' will appear written,where it says 'Type the letter and press enter' at the bottom of the screen) AND PRESS <ENTER> ON YOUR KEYBOARD...YOUR PDA WILL REBOOT UPON COMPLETION !!!
(WAIT!! For your PDA to fully REBOOT This will get your PDA 'CID' unlocked,Now you are ready to UPGRADE to any WM6 ROM)
Step 9)- CLOSE THE MS DOS SCREEN BY HITTING 'Q' ON YOUR KEYBOARD AND PRESS <ENTER> !!!
NOW,If you have completed all the steps accurately,your Scott free,GO kick some ass and fire up some WM6 Roms,be happy on your achievement and always be obliged to this wonderful FORUM !!!!!
(if your Pocket PC Phone does NOT reboot each time, you didn't do it right! DO ALL THE UNLOCKING STEPS AGAIN STARTING FROM STEP 5 TILL STEP 9)

SIM unlock means you can use sim of any carrier in your phone.when putting sim of any other carrier it won't ask for any sim/Pin code to use.it's always better to get sim unlocked.
CID unlock means now you can upgrade to any custom build wm6 rom,other than only official rom.

I would unlock the sim especially if your cell provider piss you the [email protected]%k off then you would be able to use your device some place else and if they have a special going on you would have a free back up phone

Perhaps you had a G4 device,you cannot unlock a G4 device with lokiwiz02b,lol
you can only upgrade to wm6 to a G4 device by adopting method SoftSPL,HardSPL and Shell Tool, Anyway,glade you have done it,good luck

This is Fun and also educational (lol) already unlocked 2 mda's changed os 2 times already on my device an once on the othe device....
but my gears are turning now i'm thinking "what if this could to that???" .... and how can a i make a tweak.... yeah this is better than a lot of ****. thanks again zabardast_1 for the help

According to the unlocking manual quoted below, i have succussfully been to the last step by one, but there is a problem i cannot solve it on my own, please help.
My phone is AT&T TyTN II 8925, my present state is:
(1) i have loaded RUU_kaiser_QSKOM2.3_full;
(2) i come the tri-color screen showing;
KAIS1*0 MFG
SFL-1.0.OliPof
CPL-8
(3) i tried for many times "kaiser-simunlocker.exe". but it always fails me, i.e. it cannot be run at all, no matter how i clicked the icon of the above-mentioned .exe file.

Now perform a soft reset by pressing the reset button *but* at the same time keep the camera button pressed. If you did it well you will be back in bootloader mode and you see the tri-color screen. The best technique is to press and hold the camera button first and then shortly press the reset button with the stylus.
8. On your PC go into the "step2" directory and run "kaiser-simunlocker.exe". If all went well you will see the unlockcode on your monitor and your Kaiser is being restarted automatically.

I am having the same problem trying to run Simunlocker. I did everything it says in the instructions and now I'm at the Tri-Color screen where it says:

The Active Sync is gray and when I ran Simunlock.exe in Command Prompt it says:

Hey Tina,
I am facing the same problem as u had.
I finished step 2 and added the sim card to the phone.
The phone got locked so I removed the card and unchecked the USB synchronization and then place the card back in the phone.
I ran the Kaiser-simunlock in step 2 and I am having the same error:
\\.\WCEUSBSH001: No such file or directory
cannot connect to \\.\WCEUSBSH001
Can you help me? or can anyone help me to unlock this phone.
I am too close to breaking the phone into pieces.

4. Make sure that the charger of your PDA is connected to the cradle.

I want go to bootloader menu but is dont work I press Power +record+softt reset with stylus but it doesnot work and when I conect MDA with cabel to COM this cable in not USB and active sync not found MDA and when I start update with exe it write me not found (sorry for my english) help me please ? can you write me more detailed tutorial what can I do for flash please what I must download and what I must do anywhere dont work download and i dont know where I can download any files

i have tried it a hundred times with my vista mashine and a couple of times with xp on virtualbox but nothing. 15 minutes ago i have turned on my old xp mashine, downloaded the ROM from tmobile germany and started the application. it worked for me without maupgradeut_noid. only the original rom and nothing else. so my tip: don't waste your time with vista! xp is much better for solving this problem. thanks xp!
ok, but as i see it you didn't solve a problem but avoided it, and not even in the best way. i use vista too and i am unable to re-flash my device. the general problem is that the identifier of the device change over the flashing process, so vista downloads new drivers and cuts the connection. as i understand it, there is hardly any way to avoid that.
of course you do't need to use maupgrade_noid for an original rom, the _noid file is, as implied by the name, to avoide the device from identifying, so you could flash a WWE Rom to a rather locked german device.
as you might have realised, the picture you posted shows the magician and not the blueangel, hence the name Maupgrade instead of Baupgrade, which again is solved by the _noid version of the file and putting the device to bootloader first.
that the window does not show the versions from what version you flash to what version exactlyu doesn't matter at all. but as mentioned before, you should use an xp machine which will work like a charm!
am i to understand, that you have the latest official t-mobile rom on? the wm2003se?
as fast and battery friendly that might be, it is so out-dated and practically no newer third party software will be supported, like the fantastic application SPB Online, and the interface is incredibly ugly. if you ever want to try and flash your device again, try my tips above and it will work out just fine, as you seem to have mixed up a few things, but never mind.
i wish you best luck for trying again and will stand by for support, whether something might still not work out as planned.

Hi friends i am new here and i have got my htc diamond before a month and when i googled for apps i found this great site
Then i have dled some apps and tweaks and thanks again to xda mods and members for this
However i keep on seeing flashing of roms and i am new on flashing but dont worry cause i have everything read on this site with full details and i am not in a hurry to flash as i dont want to get into problem by flashing and i will do it slow and steady
But the problem is that my device is sim unlocked already but i dont know that the device is unlocked or not so can anybody suggest me an app which will give me full details of locked or unlocked or any method and one more imp thing that if my device is already unlocked and still i do a HARD SPL and then radio and then sim unlocker is it okay or not. i got this info:
STEP 1 ( HARD SPL )
- In short, this resets the CID. This makes your phone able to run firmware installs from other that your phone provider, which is normally locked.
- Just run "diamond-sspl.bat". When the screen on your phone goes black and the bat file is done, open the folder "HardSPL-1.24" and run "DiamondCustomRUU.exe"
STEP 2 (Radio)
- This flashes a new radio, witch is able to simunlock.
- Run: "DiamonCustomRUU.exe"
STEP 3 ( RUN UNLOCKER )
- Copy "DiamUnlock.exe" to your device.
- As and joke from the developer this is really hard to execute. You have about 1/10 of a second to press the center of your joystick (this ticks the "remove simlock" box) And almost instantanely press, with your stylus on the box at the bottom. I mean it says "COMMIT" but I cant honnestly remember.
i have Duttys Diamond ROM 5.2.20764.1.4.3 [3.02] which i want to flash as i have 1.93.7** version which is little laggy.
and is there any app which will completely backup my original rom and radio so that i can reflash it back if anything happens to my device

tried to unlock using this method
FIRST AND MOST INPORTANT!!!
U guys MUST have HardSPL INSTALLED on ur phones BEFORE trying anything of this out...
I Suggest u use HArdSPL 1.40 Unsigned (Its in the RAR file)
AFTER u have installed HardSPL 1.40 Unsigned
Unrar and go to step 2 folder and run -> DiamonCustomRUU.exe
Just do what it says and update.
After the phone restart copy DiamUnlock.exe from the step3 folder on to your diamond (Anywhere) and run it.
The DiamUnlock.exe closes itself very fast, i have sucessfully made it by first launching the program and quickly and several times press up button and touch the screen
if you'r lucky the screen stay and you can sim-unlock your diamond!!

i've done the 1st and 2nd step,
but the step 3 is very hard to do,
its not that tricky,its really hard to catch the device unlocker
it close very very fast!
faster than blink of your eyes!
pls help me how can i unlock this?
what is the best trick for this,
or any other free unlocker for this can give me?

it seems that the JPN's operators use different way to lock their phone, i have a lot of SB or EM's phone but none of them could be unlocked, even i call SB say that i would love to pay for the unlock code but the reply is there is no unlock code... i don't know whether it is true or not, but the fact is since the softbank take over vodafone JP, the unlocked SB phone abroad is getting lesser......
