I did a brief search of the entire forums, but didn't really return anything...
I am looking for a button, like on the iphone, that displays a quick image of the current weather and the current temperature. It would comparable battery icon found in SPB PocketPlus or something.
Thank you, and please excuse my ignorance,
Fare
p.s. I am beginning to wonder if the image doesn't change at all, can't find evidence that it does. regardless, I am looking for a small factor button with the current weather details...

Hello!
This forum is a wealth of resources and knoledge, so thanks so much to all the people here... I'm rather new to the world of WM, so I need to learn lots of things - fast!
Anyway, I have a question/request that I don't know where to post - please guide me! It's not about TyTNII in particular but for other devices as well:
I find the way that the device locks down very awkward and unintuitive - I don't want to be reaching for the power button just to see if I have any messages etc! So I was thinking about iPhone's slider, and lo and behold, google gave me a couple of alternatives. Sleeeeeek! I thought, but not so much so after installing them.
My ideal screen/button locker would:
-turn off the screen after a specified amount of seconds
-sense when the screen is touched, or a key is pressed, and light up the screen at a low light level, awaiting for the move to unlock the device
-it would NOT look like iPhone!!! Why on earth should it?? I mean, the slider is very neat as an interface thingy, efficient and easy to use, but I don't want to have a different interface with it. So, I would like to keep just the slider, and still be able to see my Home Screen - I simply do not need another one...
So, the question is, is there such a thing? Or, can a slider applet be customized so?
Thanks to everyone, and have a happy holiday season!
there are a lot of sliders around.. just gotta search. and as for the screen dim and off stuff.. it comes with most of that as settings options
Well... I did look around and searched quite a bit, did not find anything that comes near my description... would you have a name/idea?
Thanks again,
T

Well, yes, that's the first I tried, but I didn't find a way to keep only the slider itself, as I described above...?
Anyone...?
As Title says, is there any known way, hack or application that makes the pTravelAlarm to show as alarm under BigClock on Home screen?
I never use the default alarm clock and it would look nice if the alarm could show up there. Nothing fancy, just as the default shows, with the time, would do just fine.
Yes, it's only and pure for looks, but hey! That's why we own the Diamond in the first place right?

I would like to know
I would like to know that too!
This would be great. I have also been looking, along the same lines, for a prog that will remap the calendar button under the big clock (not softkey) to a 3rd party calendar, such as Touchcal.
I tried SSMAPA but it didn't work.
Surprised not more people are looking to do this... curious as to what most people are doing with these buttons... not using them? found a fix? deleting them somehow?
Thanks for reading.
Im looking for something buy i dont know the name of it.
I am no looking for the HTC homeplugin, but the one that comes on the att rom with the batter percent remaining, screen rotate...it has a bout 5 shortcuts in one row of today screen items.
thanks...i searched a lot
HTC Homeplug
Hello eskimochaos,
By the sound of your description, I think you mean you want the HTC Homeplug. If I recall, it has links to the Comm manager, Power Settings (which shows the battery level as a link to it), Screen Brightness, Screen Orientation, and Create New SMS. It takes up only one row of the today screen, and is not to be confused with HTC Home. Is this what you're looking for?

Exactly, not the one that takes up the entire today screen with the huge clock, the one that takes on line (same size as message today item) with screen brightness, rotate screen, new sms, battery percent etc.
Thanks Dave
Do you have a link/cab?
HTC Homeplug, Kind of...
Hello eskimochaos,
After a while of searching, this is the best I could find. It is identical to the original Homeplug, but with two key differences. First, at least on my device, there is a battery icon with a question mark through it that rotates the screen instead of the regular picture of the device, but this is only when it is in portrait mode. The second difference is that instead of the new sms link, a link to internet explorer is shown, and when clicked, shows "messaging_sms_new", and can not find the page. Other than that, it works as normal. I will try to see if I can find a better one, but until then, this will have to do. Thanks to Patr!k for originally posting this at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344533.

Hello guys does anybody know a way of being able to see more than one calendar appointment, or the device lock icon, or skype icon on the Home screen of Manilla ROMs?
I tried a search but I didn't come up with anything substantial or useful enough to follow.
Thank you in advance

Take a look at the SecondToday plugin... If you use the TouchFlo2D settings tool (search the forums) you can make a softkey on the main tab that says something like "Agenda", and link it to secondtoday. Then use an application like G-Alarm and / or TodayAgenda for your today screen plugins. Inside of SecondToday you can set a softkey to "return" to TouchFlo2D by pointing it at SecondToday.exe (this kinda tricks it like the OK button)
This is what I have done, and it's very slick and solved my issues. Hopefully it helps you.
Thank you very much for the help
During two 12 hour days of rooting and customizing two CNooks, I ran across a procedure for removing the stock Nook apps. Now I can't find it. I'm not sure if that included the main soft button, as well, but I'm giving one of these to my 75 year old Mom and I don't want her confused if she hits this button all the time.
Really appreciate any help here!!!

AFAIK there's no way to remove the nook shortcut menu in the status bar. So what is she using it for, never reading on it? If you removed the apps and she did launch the shortcuts I guess it'd just fail to load the app, as they seem to be static shortcuts to those apps.
I would think when we get a custom ROM the status bar will be at the developers digression, and maybe someone will figure out a way to update the framework jar to remove the shortcut. My wife likes the shortcut, as her NC is 50/50 reader/tablet.
I installed the Kindle app on the Home screen, which I prefer. The Nook eReader is still there in the app tray, but because I changed the screen res, it screws up some of the texts in the Store and what not. The reader is still fine, though. But with the larger icons and text, it is WAY better. I tricked it out with the Aquarium Live Wallpaper and added Dolphin browser, which supports pinch zoom. And an email client; WeatherBug Elite, a Battery widget, a clock widget, and a WiFi toggle widgit went on the Home screen, as well - and I'm using Zeam for a launcher. I removed all the icons except the app drawer - and also changed the Volume Down button to be a Back and the Up to be a Menu. No SoftKeys for me. BTW: I set the lcd res to 220 using LCDDensity - far better than the 250 someone mentioned on the forum. I still see the time and the notification balloon - albeit, a bit truncated, but it works. I run SetCPU, though not really sure I need to.
I use Quick Settings for Volume.
I'm missing a few things:
1) Love to find out how to do a screen capture.
2) Desperately want Flash.
3) Desperately want Bluetooth.
And, really want to noop the nook shortcut launcher soft key - or preferably the whole status bar. I don't need it, with all the widgets, but I'd be happy to have it as long as the shortcut launcher softkey was nullified.
I'm planning to get NC for my parents of the same age like your mom as well.
They would use it for email and web browsing while traveling.
I hope you will succeed and share
Cool - and of course I'll share! Fact is, it's not a deal-breaker by any means. I
'll just tell her to avoid hitting that menu button. And if she does, she just clicks on the screen or clicks the button again to get rid of it. I'm really more interested in Flash - which I'm sure will be in 2.2, whenever they release it for the CN - and BT. Which I really want for the new BT headphones I bought for my lost Archos 70.
post deleted. it repeated my last one.
Screen capture - hold down the large physical "n" button, and then very quickly press the volume down button. It will store the .png screenshot file in a directory called "Screenshots" in the system storage.
Now, if someone knows how to do video capture of the screen, please let us know.

Awesome... thanks for posting this. I previously download ShootMe unaware of this functionality.
I did it all from my Nookie...
