AT&T Tilt built in softwares - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Is there a way to safely remove those AT&T softwares that came preload in the Tilt? Basically all the trialwares such as MobiTV, 4Cast, etc...to free up more storage spaces.
Any advise?

Few questions... new user..

Hi!
I just bougth Tytn II two weeks ago... and having some questions...
so let's start...
-I know that is possible to have multiple mail accounts, but my dilema is the following - is it possible to have multipe adress books? For example - i'm running a small concert booking agency and i have set-up on my pc (outlook express) several indentities with one e-mail adress for each of one... for example - one for general enquires, one for press, one for tickets, etc. I'm recieveng a lot of e-mails, so it's much easier to have sorted e-mails in several groups (identities/e-mail adresses).
My question is how to set-up something similar on my kaiser? Is it even possible?
Also, active sync is working only with the office outlook (not outlook experess) so i will have to arrange everything both on my pc (office outlook instead of a express version) and kaiser...
how?
-I've heard that the xda live 1.2 rom really speeded the things up on kaiser... is that also visible when i change the viewing from vertical to horizontal mode?
Also, that version of rom comes without any installed programs... where can i download the whole programm package if i am going to install xda 1.2? I'm asking that because i'm using the complete original software bundle equally...
-is it possible to add some others tones for clock alarm, because the original ones are totally useless...
Thanks in advance!
hmmmm
I am not sure if you can have multiple phonebooks, but one solution is to use categories to separate your contacts and view them that way.
Multiple address books - no
Use with Outlook Express - no. Use Outlook. It's on the CD that came with your phone. If it's not, you got gypped.
Look in the forums for cab files to install extra software. Check the sticky threads at the top of the forum. You also need to be more specific as to what you're looking for. There is no "whole program package".
Lastly, read your owner's manual. You will find out tons of useful information. You can put ringtones and such in \windows or \Storage Card or \Storage Card\My Documents and it should find them.
...and what about xda 1.2 and original programs?
uh, did you look in the Kaiser Upgrading forum???

LOOK or utilize???? You mean utilize, dont you
I'm pretty sure I meant look - as in, LOOK in the Kaiser Upgrading forum for the answer. That's where all the ROM threads are...

Garmin Mobile XT programs

I have Garmin Mobile Xt running on my Tilt, almost like it was before I flashed a new ROM. With teh old ROM everything about it worked, including being able to use a detailed map set for North America. How, I can get only the base map set to be recognized. My questions are:
1. I cannot fit the detailed map set (about 1GB) in the phone memory, it has to go on the storage card (8GB). I have tried putting it in the Garmin/Apps/WM folder (created by the Garmin install program) as well as at teh root storage card folder level. Neither works. (I also have the proper .UNL file in the same folder). How can I get the Garmin program to find the detailed map file on the storage card?
2. In the Garmin/Apps/WM folder mentioned above there are a number of cab and exe files. Do I need to run one or more of these? They are: InstallApp.exe, QuePPC.exe, QueSetupPPC.cab, and QueSetupSP.cab.
Thanks for any info.
If you don't make any change on the same old card, Garmin will stay there forever. It doesn't have any affection on flashing a different ROM.
I have some hints for you:
1. "the Garmin/Apps/WM folder" or "as well as at teh root storage card folder level" is NOT the right place. Your North America and "the proper .UNL file" must be put next to the base map in the same location. BTW, "the proper .UNL file" are more than one file.
2. No.
I'm afraid further disscussing about this will be considered as warez. Hence, good luck to you.
Thread should be locked unless you legally bought Garmin.
Kraize
Legally bought? -- I just (earlier today) downloaded Garmin Mobile XT from the Garmin web site -- there was no mention of purchasing anything (in fact the download name says "free base map" in one download. But since Gramin offers it on their web site I assume it is legal.
As I mentioned, before I changed ROM's I had this working legally (well actaully I think it was the previous Mobile XT version I had on my phone earlier), but after the ROM update it stopped working (except for the free base map). I suppose I can find my North America disk, re-install it on my desktop, and download a new map set to the storage card on the phone, but I was hoping there was a more convenient way.
Just re-read my post, you'll find the answer.
Unfortunately, Garmin XT Mobile doesn't come with DVD.
Downloading Garmin XT, tomtom application and many others is legal, unless the company mentioned differently. However, by saying that you've just download a new version of Garmin XT, is not a proof that you owned a legally map (paid for map.) Yes, Garmin does have a free base map which does not help at all unless you fly.
Changing ROM doesn't affect on Garmin because it locked to your card not to your device like Tomtom.
Well, try to make a better story next time, then.
Nghiem, you seem to want to beleive everyone is a thief. If it makes you feel better about yourself, then go ahead (that won't change reality though). Why don't you re-read what I wrote -- I said the "North America disk" --- which refers of course to the MAP -- (ya know, because North America is a PLACE), not Garmin Mobile XT (which, by the way, I already said I "dowloaded").
Anyway, no thanks to Mr. "Trusty" Nghiem, I did actually download the new map set from my (gasp!) North America disk (yes, I actually held it in my hand!) and the detailed map is now being recognized.
need to use mapintsall.
you need to use map install that is found on your disk.
that should work.
if you cant find it on your cd/dvd hopefully this works.

enjoy.

Click on this link https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=11413, you will clearly see what inside the box that Garmin send to buyers! And that was I bought for Middle East.
I never "want to beleive everyone is a thief" But there are some points here and there in your posts which make your claim doesn't sound right. Let me repeat myself:
1. Garmin mobile XT never locked to the device ID like TOMTOM. It locked to the card ID!
2. "the Garmin/Apps/WM folder" or "as well as at teh root storage card folder level" is NOT the right place.
3. There are more than one .UNL file.
Anyway, you've got "the detailed map is now being recognized." and now you know what I mean.
Peace out.

move favorites from tomtom6 to tomtom7

hey guys, i recently upgraded to tomtom7, however, i would like to also move all my favorites from tomtom6 without having to manually enter all of them. where would i find those on my memory card so i can transfer them? thanks
omar
Anyone?
This is something I've been trying to find how as its incredibly frustrating, I can't see anything in the original documentation or anything on how to do this.
Have you tried here, http://www.tomtom.com/support/support.php?ID=2&Language=4???????????????
This is XDA-Developers, not TomTom support. Geesh!

Correct, and unless I'm very mistaken many people discuss various 3rd party software applications, their merits and also tweaks/twiddles to make them work correctly on their Kaiser, etc.
Checking the software forum I see various other topics that you could apply the same logic to.
BTW; TomTom actually advise to manually re-enter the favourites between versions, which isn't a very good customer support reply in my opinion. I'm now following a path which shows the .cfg in the maps folder seems to be the key to migrating favourites over.

Searching for a few lost cab's

(Please correct me if I should ask submit such a request here or in the software forum.)
I exchanged my defective Tilt for a new one and unfortunately didn't back up my cab files I loaded. Through searching here I managed to get some back, but I'm lost on finding a few others. Can someone point me to the following cabs? Thanks.
Internet Sharing (To replace program ATT removed from new Tilt's)
Task Manager (i.e. made tasks icons on title bar)
Have you Checked P1Tater's or AllTheWay's 4Shared? Could even be in Scotchua's
I've looked at a number of threads, but I don't remember those. I'm new at this. Do I search for those terms to get there?
Also, I feel like a real putz, because I can't remember how I installed the cabs last go around. Can you tell me? For example I have the cab for Opera 9.5, but don't remember what to do with it. Thanks.
At the Top of the Threads list Click the One that says "READ THIS FIRST" It will have a link to their file repositories.

1. To install a .cab, just plug in your phone, copy the .cab over to the Documents on your phone, then go into your phone, do Start Menu > Programs > File Explorer, go to My Documents, then click on the .cab

Music ID

Anyone know where to get Shazaam Music ID on our device
Hello,
You should put your request in the Software section... and with a little search you could have found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508150
Good luck with your searches!
MusicID is not freeware, and for that reason is considered warez. Due to the large number of MusicID threads in existence (all of which state it is warez,) anyone posting MusicID in CAB form will receive a temporary ban; no warning will be given.
I don't mind paying for it at all, but Shazaam's site doesn't have a version listed under WM
