i would rather have a solution for the left key, besides purchasing a program.

1. hope they CAN be redefined, unlike on the Universal - if you meant app buttons, not just the softkeys.
2. did you read the Button Bible (Wiki)?

How can I map scandinavian characters (ä, ö) to my hardware keyboard and how to get them into the on-screen digital keyboard as well?

I use Resco Keyboard Pro (Screen Keyboard, I don't know if it works on the hardware keyboard as I have an Alpine, you can set a secondary the keyboard language, and just press a key on keyboard and you can swap to a Norweigan keyboard, I know cause I have a sister in Norway.
Download demo from here to try out.
www.resco.com
So it can also remap the hardware keyboard?

No, you allready have it. Pres 'a' or 'o' button, then doublepres dot button. After that pres space for as manu times than 'a' becomes 'ä'. Enjoy!
Is there not a faster way? Like a registry hack that would give "ä" when pressing "a" twice very fast? I think that would be a lot faster method - doubleclicking "a" rapidly to get "ä".
Could this be done with a registry editor?

Hej! How do you make this characters with Swedish ROM? I don't have it here, so can't say. Do you know?
The other way is to install Aekmap and remap buttons according to the way you want them to (ae.inc.ru)

I don't have a Finnish version of the Wizard so I can't download these (wrong IMEI). Could you please email the Sym-patch.exe to [email protected]
Thanks!

I tried Aekmap but I just couldn't customize it. The menu was hard to use, is there a help file somewhere?
PS. Also, I can't see any scandinavian letters on the Full Screen Keyboard.
I don't know why everything has to be so hard with these Win CE devices, I never had problems finding easy to use programs for my Palm devices...

I use SPB Keyboard Pro, you can set a secondary the keyboard language, and just press a key on keyboard and you have your characters, I know cause I have a sister in Norway. In fact I use a lot of their software, which has improved the WM2003 no end.

Well, in order to make it work you have to read an AEC FORMAT section at Aekmap page.
You may contact me via ICQ or by PM and I will explain you in details if the web-site doesn't give you a clue.
Solution to get scandinavian characters (å, ä ö)
This is the most simple way to get scandinavian/Swedish charset on your device.
Hardkeyboard:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/HTC_Wizard/Misc/Swedish hardkeyboard fix.zip
(Source:http://www.smartmobile.se/)
Softkeyboard:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/HTC_Wizard/Misc/Scandinavian softkeyboard.zip
(Source:http://www.epocket.no/tastatur/)
No tweaking needed.
Have a nice day!
Hi, resurrecting an old thread... I just got a new HTC Wizard and I can't get the softkeyboard from http://www.epocket.no/tastatur/ to work.
I installed it, and it shows up on the Remove Programs menu but I can't use it... I mean; I can't find the program anywhere and the softkeyboard looks the same as before.

shift button

Good day all. how are you? hope all is well. i recently purchased a kaiser running dutty's WM 6.1 version. can anyone tell me where i can find the shift key on the keyboard? i looked and cant seem to find it anywhere. thanks in advance
for me its the 2nd button on the bottom left side...
Same here:
2nd button up on the far left of the keyboard. Or you could say the first button on the third row.
All the keyboards I've seen show it as the "Caps Shift" button.
If you using that and saying its not working then it might be the keyboard mapping is messed up. There is a registry key that can fix that problem.

Hardware buttons map with MortPlayer

Hi there,
I've searched a lot but did not find any solution to this:
I'm trying to have MortPlayer's hardware buttons mapping feature working.
I can see it in the menus, after I've set "Use application buttons" to "Yes", but the message of the "Assigne device buttons" option still is "To assign application keys, first activate them above!"
Was anyone able to use this feature on Diamond?
Thanks in advance!
I tried too, but I think it's because the hardware buttons of the diamond are not like others pocket PC.
Many others applications don't see them (Mobipocket, Resco photo viewer, ...)
argh! Bad news.
I am having the same problem with my newly updated to WM 6.1 HTC Mogul. This may be an issue with 6.1 and Mortplayer. Can anyone confirm?

Number pad key mapping on the keyboard

Hello All,
I dont know if this question has been asked but i have looked under everything i can think of.
I love my touch pro but the one thing i dont like about it is that the numbers are across the top and not embedded in the keyboard like other htcs and other keyboard phones.
Does anyone know of a good program that has mapped the number keys to letters on the keyboard. I am not talking about an onscreen app but something that has or would allow me to map the numbers directly to the keyboard.
Thanks

Either switch to Fuze keyboard layout, or try MagiKB Lite - with this program you can assign most any character to most of the keys on the keyboard.
