Help Please: Trying to use Intellisync to sync with Verizon Wireless Sync! - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I have several phones on Verizon. They have a great service on their data plans called WirelessSync, which places keeps a copy of all calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes online in sync. It uses a version of Intellisync, that they have rebranded as WirelessSync. I don't use one of those phone numbers for database syncing, so I thought I would use my Kaiser/Tilt.
I got the Intellisync cab and installed it fine on the Kaiser. And it does the initial sync perfectly. And all contacts, tasks, notes continue to sync fine.
Problem is calendar. It will only sync one-way, after the initial sync, going from the server to the device. It does not read changes on the Kaiser and transfer them to the server.
There are no settings, etc. to change. Can someone suggest a registry setting to "fix" this?
I know this is an arcane request but would appreciate any wisdom. Thanks.

Outlook Contact with Photo & Notes Can't sync to Kaiser?

I got this strange problem. Contacts which have photo callers embedded or those which have notes written on them won't sync to my Kaiser.
Only plain contacts with no notes/photo will be tranferred.
I tried to hardreset, delete partnership, reinstall activesync etc and none seems to work.
If I edit the contact photo & notes from kaiser and sync it back to outlook it will works. Seems like it is set automatically to PPC overwrite PC?
What is so strange is that my other devices: Samsung i600 & MTeoR will sync just fine.
Anyone else have the same issue? and knows how to solve it?
Thanks.
Mine works fine. I have over 1000 contacts which more than half has photos and notes in it.
Same here, contacts with Photos and notes sync just fine on mine. Wish I had an answer for you.
Mine work fine too
I've had trouble with mine too. The initial sync sent all the contacts down except ones with photos or notes. Add a new photo to the kaiser and it syncs ok back to outlook, but not the other way.
In the end forked out for pocketmirror from http://www.chapura.com/pmp_wm.php
Its now syncing everything correctly, and means I can sync my work contacts separately from my wife's pda's. Doesn't let you sync remote Exchange yet though.
id reinstall activesync off of the install disk. a good place to start

Once Contacts Database to rule them all.

I keep meticulous care of my Contacts on my TILT which is connected to a Hosted Exchange account which I can also access with Outlook 2007 on my home laptop. I'd like to be able to setup a mechanism to sync only those contacts categorized as WORK with my work computer/exchange.
I've tried using the cross pollination reg hack on the TILT, to activesync contacts with two machines. However, when you use that option it is all or nothing; you cannot selectively sync WORK categorized contacts only and I don't want my personal contacts on my work Exchange server.
So I started thinking about third party solutions. Would I be able to setup something to selectively sync the WORK contacts to say a third party host like Gmail from both my home machine and my work machine?
I've been reading into OggSync and Google Contacts.
I only want to have to maintain all my contacts in one place.
Anyone else doing something similar?

Free sync and backup pocket outlook to Google account

http://www.nuevasync.com I just set this up through the exchange server feature in activesync. It is an over the air sync to google calendar and contacts in gmail. (No pictures with the contacts in gmail ) I had a problem with duplicates at first, but I think that was because I was trying oggsync, goosync, and nuevasync at the same time. It appears to be working fine now. There are other options out there, but this one appears to be the easiest and free-est one out there without limitations. I hope you enjoy this as much as I am.
!Backup your stuff with PIM backup or something similar before you sync just in case!
very nice i will try it now
thanks chiles
with this we can now also change devices, roms, etc withoug worrying about PIM data loss

Can you set categories in Google Calendar and it sync over? That's my biggest annoyance, I 'need' categories in order to have PhoneAlarm do specific actions for me based on the event category, such as "Work meeting" quietens everything, but there are some others that set the power on time different, or make the sounds louder, etc.. That all works with using Outlook to sync, but I haven't seen an online solution that works yet.
I haven't tried. I seem to remember that goosync would dumb down your category to the one default category. It might have been an old version or something. Good luck with it though! I just looked and I didn't see any category option on the google calendar webpage.

Well...My contacts lost their pictures on the gmail contacts page. This doesn't keep all of the information. I also lost my throttle contact category information. It's good for a sim card backup tho
I haven't used it myself yet. However, on quick inspection, the settings page recognizes multiple calendars, so it might sync in separate categories. There doesn't seem to be an option to only sync contacts with phone numbers, so I don't want to use it yet because gmail creates new contacts for those you email.
gave it a try and seems to work well! i only sync my calendar(s) and fits to it almost perfectly. the only problem is.. i'm having multiple calendars at my google calendar, and i cannot decide which calendars to sync. anyways that's better than goosync, only one calendar can be selected to sync.. otherwise have to upgrade to pro.. :E
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I was using scheduleworld with the funambol client, but that stopped being able to connect. I would like to try to us nuevasync, but for as simple as the setup instructions are my activesync says that "Microsoft exchange did not accept my logon credentials". The server source is setup per the instruction on nuevasync site. I am running the stock ATT rom with WM6.0. I haven't knowingly changed any of my network settings and internet and email still work properly, but I can not get either funambol or nuevasync to work. Any thoughs would be appreciated.

Different Methods to Synchronize Calendar, Contacts Over The Air

Since my university doesn't give us undergrads Exchange accounts, I theoretically have no way of synchronizing all of my PIM information (calendar, contacts, tasks, notes) over-the-air.
How can I still get this functionality?
CHEAT: Use mail2web's Free or Paid Hosted Exchange Service
I'm a little afraid that a SNAFU could occur and I'd lose all of my data. Since I only really modify all of this on one laptop (except for Google Calendar when I'm on the run or Funambol's web-access) I'm tempted not to pay the $15/mo fee. If someone could let me know of a way to back up all the data on the server, I wouldn't mind doing this.
OPEN SOURCE: Use Funambol
Thanks to SyncML (Wikipedia it) there is an open-source alternative. Using my.funambol.com, which is Funambol's free portal, I'm able to use connectors in Outlook and on my Fuze to synchronize all my PIM data.
However, reminders do not synchronize! I read on a forum somewhere that portals other than my.funambol.com do not have this problem, but I am still investigating.
PLEASE CONTRIBUTE IF YOU CAN BE OF ANY HELP!
I'm using the following setup :
Outlook on stationary PC at my home acts as "master" calendar.
Google Calendar acts as "on-the-road" calendar
PocketPC - "on-the-road" calendar when no computer is available.
Sync :
Outlook <-> Google Calendar : "Google Calendar Sync". Application installed on stationary PC - autosyncs every 20 mins. (self definable).
Google Calendar <-> PocketPC : "SyncMyCal".
Works perfect. If I make changes to my PocketPC calendar, my outlook at home is shortly after updated automatically.

NuevaSync
You could try NuevaSync. It is a free solution that will sync your Google contacts and calendar OTA ("over the air"), using the native Activesync connection.
Personally, I use Seven for synching my e-mail (Gmail and Google Apps) as well as my Gmail contacts. They are supposedly working on a Google Calendar sync as well. In the meantime, I am using Oggsync (which has a free and pro version).
I use my.funambol.com to OTA PIM's and to download PIM's OTA to outlook on my Laptop.

Google Sync with Diamond

Hey everyone,
Google recently released official sync support for Windows Mobile devices. Google Sync supports synchronization with Google Calendar and Google Contacts. Instructions can be found here.
The issue is that the instructions and respective screen shots do not correspond with the Touch Flo interface, and I see no way of inputting a server address within the Diamond's ActiveSync client.
Does anyone know how to set up Google Sync with the Diamond? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Elliot
Just follow the instructions from the link you provided.
I will start you off:
Start>Programs>ActiveSync>Menu>Add Server Source....
..and then follow the instructions from your link!
Thank you! I was confused because it asked for my email address before the server address. My calendar and contacts synced almost perfectly, but I still have a couple of issues that maybe you could resolve:
1. Despite that everything synced, ActiveSync shows an "Attention required" message that says,
"Synchronization could not be completed. If this condition persists, try deleted and then re-creating the device's sync relationships.
Support code:0x80004005"
2. Is there anyway to get the Diamond's calendar application to recognize and distinguish between the multiple calendars I have in Google Calendar?
Thanks again,
Elliot
Google sync is used only for contacts and calendar sync, so if you check the mail or task in the option of activesync, you will have an error.
Just check contact and calendar and enjoy.

I've had no luck in getting this to work. Always get this error 'ActiveSync cannot reach the server. Check that the server address and proxy server settings are correct' Support code: 0x80072F78
Any ideas?

It will work as I've tried it setting up sever on the diamond, but you can also do it via activync.
I have stopped using it as I would get a couple of good syncs then the same error messages as your getting.
Also google and outlook do not play nice with each other.
All my contacts revert to Lastname_Firstname on my diamond, and the "file as" gets messed up.

Just configured the sync options on my Diamond (1) with WM6.5. But the contact sync works fine, but none of my google calendar items will appear in the calendar of my Diamond.
Is this due to WM6.5? Or are there other possibilities?
Well I successfully synchronized my HTC Diamond. But after this the ActiveSync on my handset would start automatically after regular intervals creating memory issues for me. I tried all the methods available on this forum to solve this problem but finally I had to Hard-Reset my handset. So pls try this on ur own risk.
I just configured my phone to sync every 4hr on and off-peak times, but only told it to sync contacts and it seems to be working pretty well.
Hopefully, this will reduce the amount of time it spend syncing and then I can let OggSync manage my calendar. Unfortunately, I synced my calendar and contacts first so I now have a bunch of duplicate events on my google calendar.
I wish I had know about this months ago... doh! Thanks!
