Dialer with large Contacts Photo - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Does anyone know of a dialer which displays a larger contacts photo. The size of photo in the standard T-Mobile dialer is tiny. Also the pop up notification window on an incoming call doesn't show any photo. A large picture of the caller would be great for screening calls. I used to use a modded Eten dialer on my Wizard which did have a slightly larger picture but afaik it is WM5 and does not support video calling.

Bump
Are there any Kaiser compatible dialers which display a larger contacts photo?

I used to use this and it worked nicely:
http://www.pocketx.net/products/photocontactspro_ppc/index.html
It also had good profile management, blocking features etc.
I can't be bothered to install it now that the HTC Home has contact pictures on it though...

I have used "Slide 2 Unlock" on mine which is available on this forum. There is a registry setting on this that will allow you to have a full screen picture of the incoming call contact as a background with the incoming phone number providing you have a photo for the caller stored. It works very well and it's free!

I'm now using "Inesoft Address Book" and I'm quite happy about it.

Try it and I'm sure you'll like it

I installed this last night (v0.86) and it is working brilliantly. What with S2U2, PocketCM, PocketCM keyboard, HTC Album I feel like a little Apple fan boy. I didn't start out to clone the iPhone look&feel I just wanted a responsive, intuitive, user friendly interface for commonly used features.

I guess I didn't either but it's hard not to like some of these iphone type apps. It's a bit like having the best of both worlds, but what I will say is that I tried the iphone in the o2 shop and the screen is something else!

Does it identify contacts in your SIM? Photo COntacts pro didn't that's why I stopped using it. Also can you use alternate dialerpads cause the one they show is ugly. Also what shows when someone without a picture is calling? Thanks for your help and advice.

Does somebody know what registry settings belongs to make larger contact photo appear on incoming calls? I don't want to use a multi purpose program for it.
Thx

Incoming Call Notification

So here I am with a 240x320 screen on my AT&T Tilt and a phone call comes in and up pops a tiny window with small text telling me who is calling. Is there any thing out there that can make this larger? I'm not getting any younger (eyesight getting worse fast) and larger text or a full screen photo from contacts would be nice.
I know there are others but Photo Contacts Pro keeps poping into my mind. If I remember I'll post back with the others.

Use S2U2. There is a config program to set caller ID photo to full screen
What is S2U2?
I just got my Tilt yesterday, and would like to improve some of the features....Thanks!
Tom
S2U2 (Slide to Unlock)works brilliantly on my Vario III, with full screen photo of incoming caller.
I have tried Photo Contacts Pro, but I felt it was overkill for just the big photo on incoming calls, I prefer to use PocketCM or Finger Friendly Friends as my contacts app.
Inesoft works great and acts as a phone book as well.

Why is the "caller ID Pop up screen " so small?

when i get a call. The Caller ID pop up screen is too low on the screen and i dont get to see all the information?
its like the lower 1/3 is missing
thanks
Why not try this:
http://pocketx.net/
Audio
thanks for the link
At the moment i want to try and not download anything etc until i understand these things better ! i dont want to use my phone as a door stop !
I wonder if the phone settings can be adjusted etc to show the "pop up" in full
Or is this the way it works from factory?? If so its madness (Again)
you can't change that AFAIK
why don't you try S2U2 ? it has a great caller ID interface, very similar to the one found on the iphone... it works very well for me

Any other options than S2U2 and PocketX available? To bad PocketCM has no callerscreen intergrated.
I've been tempted to get the s2u2, but I've read some posts from a few that love it but say it is somewhat buggy. So, I'm staying away for the moment.
Photo contacts Pro
i have using photo contact pro for my kaizer and it working great..
The photo contact just show the caller ID with Full screen............. any idea
about how to show the dialed ID with full screen?
Inesoft Address book has a skinnable CallerID
http://www.inesoft.com/eng/index.php?in=addressbook.html
And is it possible to only use the CallerID from Inesoft Address book? I don't want a different Adress Book. I like PocketCM.
I doubt it. The Configuration for caller ID is part of the address book software. But there are also setting for when to use the Inesoft address book. Maybe you could turn it off there.

Tilt or Single Camera Models - Dialers?

So I've got a couple unrelated questions, that actually are related... in the way my brain creates associations...
Other than the Tilt, what other Kaiser models have only one camera, and thus, no video calling?
I've noticed that many ROMs come with an HTC dialer, which invariably has the video button, and no quick dial contacts access, or you can switch back to the MS dialer.
Are there any HTC or provider created dialers out there for single camera models? You know, not the MS dialer and not the video dialer?
Is it possible someone could give us a CAB or CABs of these dialers?
Is there any reason a Tilt would react differently with certain dialers than the full two camera models?
Basically I've given up on having a nice dialer. I don't think that the Tilt reacts differently than the 3G video phones, it's just that the non-video dialer has more functionality.
What I invariably end up doing is going into Advanced Config and diabling the Phone Skin. That way I keep my SmartDial AND ability to see recent calls in the dialer screen, scroll down them, left/right scroll between their different numbers - mobile, home, text... Poorlyduck made a beautiful dialer that's pretty nice, but it is just a skin of the HTC dialer that doesn't allow for selecting an alternate number AFTER you've dialed the contact and hung up. It also doesn't remember the most commonly dialed contacts, so you end up dialing more letters than normal.
I'm actually considering going back to a proper Tilt ROM...

Almost perfect...

I got my Diamond last Thursday and have been using it with my secondary sim whilst I got used to the phone and became used to using it intuitively... I am happy to say I am now completely comfortable with it and it is *almost* perfect!
Changes:
*Bepe 0.97 FIXED
*Diamond Advance Config tool
*S2U2
*Comm Manager advance.
Thank you to all the great people working to made this device all it should be! Donations forthcoming very soon!
I have just a few questions with regard to my remaining issues:
*The contacts summary page which comes up after ending a call, any way to suppress that?
*Is there any way to bluetooth contacts, files (pictures/music etc) to and from another mobile phone? I tried transferring a jpg image, an MP3 ringtone and a contact via bluetooth from a Sony Ericsson W880i but all three failed!
*Is there any way to display contacts as FORENAME SURNAME as opposed to SURNAME, FORENAME?
Thank you in advance for any advice regarding the above
Anyone?????
Think I might be able to help you out there.
1. To get rid of that contacts thing at the end of a call, tap Phone on the Home screen, then tap Menu and then Options. Go to the Advanced tab right at the end and untick "Add new phone number to Contacts at end of call".
2. To receive files of any kind over bluetooth, you have to have Bluetooth turned on in the Comm Manager, but you also need to have the Beam option turned on. If you have the modified Comm manager then you should be able to see the Beam option in there.
3. All my contacts show up as "forename surname" already, I think it might be to do with how you have it set up in Outlook, because I remember Outlook had it "surname, forename" by default and that drove me mad until I changed it. Hunt around in Outlook to change the way they're displayed, then do a sync, and I'd say that should do it.
Dave
Thanks for taking the time to reply Dave!
The contact summary still seems to come up I did untick this box a few days ago and maybe its a bug but the screen still appears on finishing a call.
I turned on Beam and the bluetooth file transfer now works just fine, thank you!
I will sync up when I get home and have a play around with Outlook, thanks for the suggestion I think that will remedy this problem too.
Is there an advanced contact manager or SMS manager out there by chance? Sending and receiving a few SMS today and the whole transition from TF3d to the WM is a bit jarry, and browsing contacts isnt really possible without the stylus... so far these are the only small niggles in day to day use! The latest version of S2U2 really helps usability and allows you to lock the hardware buttons when you get an incoming call... no more calls answered by mistake with this app!
No bother.
I never manually browse the contacts list because it scrolls very strangely, its impossible to successfully pick a contact.
The best way to select a contact when sending a text, I've found, is to type the first letter or two of their name, eg "DA" and then everyone with a name starting with DA is listed, eg DAD, DAVE etc. Much better than scrolling a list. Its the same behaviour when making a call and you want to select a contact; just bring up the Phone app (the one with the keypad) and start typing their name on the number pad.
I agree though that the process of moving from TF3D to WM6 when sending a text is very clunky. I wonder would HTC consider developing their own TouchFlo messaging software that covers all aspects of sending SMS and email. Unfortunately the iPhone still has the advantage there; you still have to get out the stylus every now and then on the Diamond.
I have most of my most frequently used numbers under the People tab in TF3D... good suggestions as above though.
May give this a try if I cant get along with the SMS...

Unable to call contacts

I am unable to call any contacts from the touch flo 3d contacts page.
Nothing happens when I tap on any of the phone numbers for a contact.
I can send a text or email from the contacts page.
If I tap on the more option I can make a call from the screen that then appears by pressing the left soft menu key.
Anyone know how to get the functionality back?
is adding a contact picture allow you to make a call?
if so this is a known issue for certain late rom.

No adding a picture to the contact does not allow me to make a call.
Does not make any difference if the contact has a photo or not. Or if I try to dial from the favourites contact page or the all contacts page.
The rom is the standard htc one (v 3.43.25.19) that came with the phone only had the phone a week and a half.
Found out what was causing the problem.
Pocket Shield has an option to use the WM dialer when using the slide to answer functionality.
It claims that the slide to answer is more responsive when using the WM dialer and recommends using it.
Once I unticked this option the ability to dial from the contacts returned.
