HELP - Edit Unlock
How can I edit the function of holding down the end call key?
Is their a registry key assigned to this?
I want this function to open an alternative locking application.
Thanks in advance for the help

NooB Warning....
It is considered bad form in the Forum to open multiple threads (in your case 3) asking the exact same question.
Lifting the "Big Hammer of Ban",
Kyphur stacks the redundent threads
one on top of another
and merges them together
using only a wee bit of

All of your questions now sit together, do not start another thread asking this same thing...

remove left softkey in messaging

Is their anyway to remove the left softkey in messaging? It is set for the "send" command and I am always hitting it instead of the "r" or "t" key and it prematurely sends the message. Please help prevent premature send...
I have often thought of this, but never have dug into it because I always forget how much it bugs me until I've done it again. Let's have a look at the tmail resources & registry, shal we???
I'll see what I can find!
I'm trying to see if I can alter the function w/ a vkey call first, but I think it may be coded into the tmail.exe & that may be beyond my coding abilities.
Edit #1: No dice! I'll have a look at the outres.dll.0409.mui resource.
Edit #2: Nope. Can't do it without some serious knowledge of the poutlook program. You have two options here. The first is to completely kill (Disable) the softkey, or the better idea:

if you accidently hit send it will prompt for sender info. when you are ready to send, simply insert the contact details in and all is well.
hope this helps some of you

Not the best option but it will have to do for now...I try to keep it tilted when typing and that helps some as the softkeys are hard to reach but somehow I still send it off sometimes. And when I do I usually do it several times in a row.
I reckon a good strong screwdriver should d it.

Can I change the PTT button to do Voice Speed Dial instead?

I have absolutely no use for the PTT button. But the Voice Speed Dial button on the 8125 was great for me.
Is there anyway i can change the PTT button to pull up the Voice Speed dial instead?
Absolutely!
There are at least three ways I know of on how to find out how to remap the PTT button on your tilt.
Method 1: Search this forum. Usually a good start would be to think about the question you are asking about...in this case "PTT button"...click on search and enter "PTT button" and the magic of a search engine will show you all the other times other people have been pondering the same question as you are.
Method 2: Easier than searching the forum is to simply go to the xda-wiki (see that along the top bar of the forum?) and read the kaiser/tilt topic on remapping your PTT button.
Both Methods 1 & 2 are stickied in this forum at the topic on all CAPS " SEARCH XDA-Developers using GOOGLE & READ THE KAISER WIKI!!! "
Method 3: Is the option used by a lot of people these days, which is to post yet again on this topic. Doing so will allow you to get someone else to do the 30 seconds of work for you to go to the xda-wiki, and copy and paste the link to the answer to your question.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1704919&postcount=122 ... once you install the cab you should be able to remap the button.

Change Length of Long Press End Key

Hi folks. Sorry if this question's been posted before, I did a search but came up with nothing.
Is there a way of changing the length which you have to hold the end key to trigger the Long Press End Key functionality? I'd quite like to shorten it, but there's nothing in the settings.
Cheers,
Pete

Come on, You obviously didn't search very hard. I did a quick search and found this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402381
it was one of the first links which came up
Check it out. I didn't read the whole thread, but you should. You should not have created this thread, you should have searched and added to this one if there still isn't an answer posted. It would have revived the discussion perhaps if a solution has not already been reached. It may have, I don't know. Like I said, I didn't read the whole thread. Hope you find what you are looking for and good luck.
^but no answers
I also want it to be shorter.. by half or smt..
Keep an eye on S2U2 following this link

I know it might not be exactly what you are looking for, or it might be better. I am using it on my phone *(not a Diamond) and it is by far my favorite locking program.
A_C has been working on the problems with the Diamond and this program and I am sure he will find sollutions soon if he hasn't already. Keep an eye on it. (if you are looking for an easy way to lock your phone)
I am not very familiar with the Diamon and what you are using or want to use the long press end key for, so I can't be of much help. Sorry
I currently use S2U2 on my diamond with absolutely no problems. I have it mapped to the long press answer button.

UNlock only with the "Enter"-Button

Hi guys
I'm looking for a possibility to unlock the Diamond only with the "Enter"-Button.
Maybe a kind of enhancement for the keylock settings - additional or instead of the setup with the ON/OFF-Button.
I think there should be somewhere a registry entry or something, which could be changed.
Because of the buried position of the button, there is no accidentally operation but it's within easy reach.
Thanks in advance!
(P.S. Sorry for my english - it's not my native language )
How about zoom in like unlock?
By using finger gestures around the enter button I mean.
There is no Unlock application pressing or circling the <Enter> button, yet. But check this thread for similar locking and unlocking questions, answers and the currently available solutions, like this one. Oh, and your English is fine! But next time, please first try searching before starting a new thread ;-)
Thanks a lot for the very fast responses.
@Mandragore
I know. I found the other threads only a few hours after I started my own - shame on me!
...but there are still no answers for what I'm looking for.
Perhaps, I'm the only one who thinks, it would be a good solution with the <Enter> button.

That's what I wrote, there aren't any <Enter> button solutions. Yet.. Maybe, soon, who knows.. Because if you read the other threads, you'll find you're not the only one who thinks like you

New X1 and problem

J bought new X1 from Vodafone
And j turn it on
And X1 want to get password?
But what is the password?
Somebody can help me?
sounds like someones been playing with it as they dont come with a password,
hard reset it (use the wiki to find this) or the search function
and please post in the relevant section, this is rom development
I like those answers if **** happens and than I am been told "use the search button" and poste it in the relavant section
Here is 1 hard reset sequenze for the X1 which should work in your case (also from this forum).
If it comes to the screen where it says that you must press some buttons you must slide out the hardware keyboard and use those buttons from the hardware keyboard (it takes me also a while to relize that because normaly you imagine that you just can use the the normale phone buttons)
dingolino
Xperia X1
About hard reset.
1. turn off the phone
2. Hold both right and left buttons (the ones right under the screen, dont know the name)
3. press power button, while still holding the others

It really depends on what password its prompting you for. A device lock password or maybe a Pin code? What is it? Are you using an old sim card from another device? Did it ever have a PIN code on it? A brand new device shouldn't be asking you for any type of passwords unless you tell it to.

really, weird that, after all there arent many forum rules, and they are the two most basic ones.
i told the poster to look in the wiki to find how to hard reset so that thewould know how to use the wiki, or even better learn to use the search feature.
im not certain why you seem to have decided that was wrong.
