Problem: when I connect the HTC with my portable pc, only internal sites are accessible..
The only difference with at home is, that the portable at work, uses "Use automatic configuration script" in IE - Tools - Internet options - Connections - Lan settings".
I've looked everywhere in the PIE's options where to 'activate' the use of the same script.. but couldn't find it.
Anyone any ideas?
thx!

Hallo,
Does somebody have experience with the "remote desktop access" prog. WM6RDP.cab? See attachement.
Installed it, followed the instructions below but can't get it to work. Anybody suggestions?
Thanx in advance.
**
Here is some instructions to set up desktop and phone to work together:
- right click on 'my computer' (either from desktop or from start menu)
- select 'properties', click box under 'Remote Desktop'
- if your computer is behind a router, go in its settings under 'applications & gaming' or something similiar to that effect to allow certain applications specialized access in the 'port range forward' setting, below is how mine is set:
Application Start End Protocol IP Address Enable
remote 3389 3389 Both 192.168.x.x x
- for IP address, be sure you indicate the LOCAL IP address of your host computer
- click on 'save settings' button
- while you're still in your router's configuration window, go under 'Status' and determine the 'IP address' (computer's location address, not 192.168.x.x), write it down
- on your phone, load up the WM6 RD application, under 'Computer' type in the 'IP address' of your computer's location address - again, not the 192.168.x.x
- type in your 'user name', and 'password' of the ACCOUNT you log in your computer, or you use
- then hit 'connect'...that's it.

Define "can't get it to work"....
Does it connect and then disconnect?? Does it not connect at all?? Does it display any sort of error message?? Are you logging in as administrator and if so, is the password non-blank (it has to be non-blank!)???
More clues = more help
Mark.
Hallo,
An message stating that i cannot connect.
On searching through various windows setting i found that on unchecking the allow external computers to access home pc in Windows OneCare did the trick.
I have a connection now. But....
The programm "changes" windows color scheme and thats nog nice.
anybody a suggestions for another program that allows remote access to home pc?
Your cab works fine for me -- I'd say the problem is in your network or firewall config.
i used to have the same problem connecting to my home PC via DynDNs i resolved by typing the address in the Computer name area instead of typing it in the Domain name area. Try this. it may help.
What r v supposed to enter in the tabs "Computer:" "User Name:' "Password:" and "Domain:"? Plz help.

I use Resco Explorer - but in "MY NETWORK" there is nothing even when I am connected to the network and there is shared folders on the PC - can you tell me how to share under Vista so I can see the folders on the Diamond. And also is there a way to configure the network settings on the Diamond - such as WORKGROUP.

You need to map the network drive i.e. long press on 'My Network' and then select 'Map Drive' and choose the folder/drive on your network (after you have shared the folder/drive on the desktop)
i'd recommend Network Folder plugin v1.0
it integrates network drive/folder mapping on to the inbuilt file explorer.....its more like an update to windows rather than a 3rd party app.
and yes, it works like charm...just share a drive from ur pc , get your firewalls set and you are ready to go....
Total Commander is a good option.

This has been asked, discussed and answered before.
May I suggest you to search previous threads titles to find ample details about this
BTW: YES it works a treat and it's worth (at least for me)
I can share my 3600kbps HSDPA internet to my laptop and my PC by just plugging the USB cable or thru WiFi
All you need is activesync and launch the "internet sharing" program

That's the other way around from what he wants, from what I understand he wants to share from PC to phone. You need to check "enable advanced network functionality" on the phone, and configure ActiveSync to share the connection, forgot which part of the AS UI it's in (I've been using Vista for too long, and Vista does this by default)
Um...yeah, my xperia does this automatically. I have not configured anything either on the phone, or on the pc itself. I have customized all the programs that need internet updates (like weather, rss feeds etc.) to update themselves when the phone is connected to the pc. Works like a treat and it doesn't matter if it's activesync or simple usb data connection.

Leddy thank you. The "enable advanced network functionality" on the phone was already checked, but I still could not find the desktop pass-through option in my ActiveSync 4.5 software on the desktop.
I did not give up though and I've finally got mine working - so for those who experience the same issue, this is what I did:
1. Open Registry Editor on your desktop (Start/Run and type "regedit") and locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services.
2. Right-click on the value list and choose New/DWORD value. Type the name "AllowLSP" and leave the value zero. Disconnect and connect your device and programs on your phone will now have internet access.
This worked well for me. Another possibility that I haven't tested is because I set my "Computer is connected to the Internet" as illustrated here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2006/11/20/wmdc-activesync-pass-through-feature.aspx
Thanks guys!
I think it needs set up proxy setting on PDA and install proxyserver soft on PC...
thank you for the sharing... will try....
Internet by Activesync
Also, If you PC is running a firewall, you might need to 'allow' activesync in the firewall settings.

Thanks Shoyu ... just had to change the setting to " Computer is connected to the internet" at the end and it worked like a charm!! ... Atlast someone providing a solution to a question instead of directing to a search!!
Hi ...
Is there a way to Turn kaiser to an 3G usb key for PC ???
Kinda confused are you just asking about tethering?
Program for that is named WMWifirouter try to google..I think that actual version is 1.6
OK ...
but without wfif is it possible : only linked by usb port ?
daaayyyyuuummmm duuuuddddeee!!! what you are asking for is a common and known and very much loved feature of windows mobile devices.
what you are looking for is called "Internet Sharing". all you need to do is install ActiveSync on the computer that will use the internet connection. also make sure your data connection (3G) is set up correctly on your kaiser.
now you have THREE options to run the "Internet Sharing" application:
1. on your kaiser, find an icon for "Internet Sharing" somewhere in your Start Menu...might be in Programs->Connections but the location of the shortcut can vary from ROM to ROM.
2. if you can't find the link mentioned in option 1, use total commander or resco explorer to create a new shortcut/link. the link should point to:
Code:
:MSINTERNET_SHARING?:intshruiapp
3. also, using a file explorer, you can try to find and run the following file at the following path:
Code:
\Windows\IntShrUI.exe
start the "Internet Sharing" application while your kaiser is connected to the computer via usb and thats it!
