Flashdash problem on Imate PDA2K running on 1.440

Hi,
I have been using the 1.440 rom upgrade for the iMate PDA2k for the last 2 months and apart fromt he normal shortcomings associated with the rom, such as the phone hanging on pressing the red "hang up" button and the sound associated bug with WM10, i have been pretty content with this present version. I have recently installed FLASHDASH and macromedia flash player on my PDA2k to enjoy animated themes however the software refuses to display the selected themes for some odd reason.
I have also hard reset my machine but still it just doesnt want to work.
I REALLY want this thing to work so please can someone advise me what to do.
Regards
Ahmed
There is something wrong with the today screen part of the 1.40 ROM; i cannot minimize pocketbreeze and uptime meter not works properly.

Strange, I am using the helemi_C rom but I havn't experience any problem like this. May be you need to reflash the rom again with all fixes available. [/list]
I flash this ROM this morning and face this problem in the afternoon one time.
I have had this thing in my Himalaya with WM5 ROM a long time ago.
Don't know why.
Did U hard reset and clear all the previous registries?
Yes , surely.
with options No,Yes,Yes.
don't know if it can help but I had the very same problem with different roms. after some tests I discovered that this was due to the joypad at the bottom, the 'down' key made contact and was, in a way I don't know, kind of overriding the pression of any key, power included.
cleaning the contacts worked perfectly for me.

I am sorry but I don't understand what should I do exactly
i also have this problem, anybody can help??????
Same problem with Qtek9090 flashed with IvanV4R3_RAMDisk32_1
Hi guys,
In fact, I'm having the same problem after having flashed my Qtek9090 with IvanV4R3_RAMDisk32_1.11. (When the device is turned off (standby mode) for more than 5 minutes, it's impossible to turn it back on - only reset helps. While that state, when somebody rings my phone, they get "engaged" signal as though I'm talking on the phone. When you put the device into cradle - the computer indicates that there is a new device with some installing errors...)
Now, I've noticed one thing: there is a localization software from Paragon (LEng - Russian language pack for Pocket PC) - after having disabled that software, the device works well and comes back from the standby mode easily. Perhaps, that deals with some bugs in the localization software.
I guess you all have some localization soft on your BA (Arabic, Chinese, etc.) - try and disable it - let's see if that helps...
No i dont have any language pack on my PPC.
Using helmi 1.3 and this is what i have currently installed
E-TEN m600 Blue Dualer Skin
IdosPPC - (train schedule )
Resco Explorer
Resco Today Plugin
Resco Keyboard Pro
Helmi 1.3 NET missing FIle
SpbAirlands
Microsoft .NET CF 2.0 ENU-String
Socket Wi-Fi Companion
SpaceTime Mobile 2.0
Gray is right. I have tried 2 Chinese Localisation softwares, namely Monster Chinese V5.3 and CE-Star V2.8R2 and they both hanged the machine, especially before dawn, usually with the red LED flashing but BA hanged. Well yes, I am using the stupid MS Auto-Push on my BA! (Pocket Outlook is the least stupid email client available at the moment, FlexMail still needs much works to integrate with the WM5 interface) I have tried to disable MS Auto-Push while running Monster Chinese V5.3 and tested for 3 full days without hanging.
When I resumed the MS Auto-Push, the machine hanged again.
Interim findings:-
1. My BA hangs when running both Chinese localisation software and MS Push.
2. My BA seems to work OK when running Chinese localisation but not MS Push.
3. My BA seems to work OK when running MS Push but not Chinese localisation.
I guessed Notification of Email feature may have caused the hanging problem, I'll try to reduce the red LED flash duration from UNLIMITED to say 15 minutes. Will report my findings in due course.
In fact, I've installed an update for the language pack (LEng build 7928) and the problem disappeared.
So, I guess, you need to check if there is any buggy software on your PPC. ...Although the issue may be much deeper...
Good luck!

I've had this issue with BePe 0.97, under same circunstances: charging at night.
But I had an additional issue, as the phone was endlessly restarting. It showed the initial screen and vibrated, but before it showed the ROM and Radio version it restarted again. Eventually I was able to put the PIN and boot WMobile, and I quickly turned the flight mode on (as I wanted it to be stable at night, as I needed the alarm this morning).
I've no idea about what happened, as I had made no changes, but lastly the phone only charges 2 bars during all night long, and I can't connect it to the PC via ActiveSync. (I don't know if it can be related to this problem...)
Hi all,
I am working on the official HTC rom (I believe it's 1.37) and have not installed any unknown software...
1.35 rom on my wife's TD, same problem as yours
1.37 rom on mine, same problem, abeit less frequent
now both on 1.93 rom, no problems.
maybe give it a try, been pretty smooth on both TDs so far without any tweaks done
1.93 restarts
My HTC Diamond restarts during recharge at night.. i have 1.93. this sucks.. Anyone else have this issue?
try doing a hard reset.
i had some issues like opera not working n some others that i can't recall offhand b4 when first upgraded to 1.93
i did a hard reset and have not had any issues since
funny thing is, everyday at midnight, if i were wake the phone, the minutes flap on the clock will start to flip non-stop till the exact minute eg. 12.39am; the minutes flap will continuously flip from 12.00 to 12.39
My diamond also does random restarts. Not only while charging at night, but during the day, while working with it, too.
I tried a lot of roms. On some the restarts where less frequent, but still there. Any idea what I can do about it?
Greetz
Hi,
My Diamond also random restarts. I try 3 type ROM (original CZECH, original ENGLISH, Dutty), but Diamond random restarts. Any idea???
(sorry for my english )
Hard-SPL or warranty return
Dare I suggest it, but if you have this issue AFTER a rom change, and/or after a a HARD reset then the only thing left is your SPL (Hard or otherwise)...have you "played" around here yet?
If you have and this has made no change I would be beating a path to your handset provider with you warranty card for service repair or replacement!!!

My HTC Touch Diamond has 1.93 installed and it's still happening.
Have 3 HTC Diamonds, 2 working fine and 1 got this problem since the day I bought it.
Anyone has link to download the 1.35 ROM? Thanks.
I dont think that it has something to do with Hard-SPL. I had the problem with the original rom to (never flashed).
I now used Aztor Rom, didnt install any apps, but the restarts still happen. I have the feeling that they only happen if applications were running.
Maybe the storrage gets to full?
Tonight I am going to install Panosha shine on v2.0 with a bigger pagepool- maybe that helps?!?

I got the same issue
I bought HTC diamond 20 days back. It is restarting automatically . sometimes while incoming call recieved or sometimes while calling others from contacts. sometimes in the night by itself getting restarted. more over sometime it is automatically switched off.
I am using ROM 1.93.720.2.
Can anyone help me out here
Turns off while charging and changes the clock
Hi guys, I noticed none of you had the problem like i did:
If I leave my Diamond to be charged during the night, sometimes it works just fine and nothing happens. But like this morning it really f*cked me up: It reboots and when i woke up (to the sound of the alarm clock) it was in the "enter pin" screen. TouchFlo3d worked just fine and I inserted the pin code and it's been working just fine since then. The only problem (which I discovered after my morning shower) came up when my boss called me and told me I was already 10 minutes late (work starts at 3pm). My Diamond showed me that it was still 2.35pm and I had been woken up by the alarm at 2.20 as I had set it.
So the problem: The device turns off during charging and changes the time of the clock (or the clock jams and doesn't update for a while...)
I have the 1.93.414.1 WWe ROM from htc.com and eveyrthing else works just fine. This problem was first discovered when I bought this device with the original 1.34 ROM I believe.. Updated to 1.93 and still it continues. Any suggestions ?
How did you enter the pin to boot to windows mobile? I have the same problem it keeps rebooting itself and I do not know what to do, I did hard reset but it did not help.
Thanks.
I start to investigate the wired issue...
I noticed if I put the Diamond to sleep (charge) after Midnight nothing happened and no restart during night , if I put Diamond before Midnight , then it may get Restart during the night..
The other issue I noticed the wired Clock between 00:00 and 00:39 as
some reported here, if you open the Diamond , lets say at 00:30 , u will see clock start from 00:00 to 00:01 , 00:02 etc till it arrive to 00:30 ,
I m using Second Today screen with Digital clock installed and found that there is no problem in clock , i'll explain:
During the clock moving from 00:00 to 00:30 (in the TF3D) I pressed on the Second Today and saw clock 00:30, moved back to TF3D and saw clock continue moving to the "target" 00:30..
I made 1 +1 (restart problem and clock problem) and found that the problem comes from TF3D...
To prove it I made this test - I put Diamond to sleep before Midnight ,
but after Shut down the TF3D from setting >> Today
and open the TF3D back during the morning...
Since I made it, No restart during night anymore...
So all you have to do is to close the TF3D to prevent from restert during night, and open it back in the morning..
Try it too so we can be sure it's TF3D problem..
Seems like TF3D needs to sleep too during the night
Bug in TF3d
On Duttys penultimate rom I had the clock issue but also when I went to contacts. TF3d wouldn't display them and reverted to the home screen again.

Please provide full details of which phone, which ROM/Radio/SPL other software installed etc as these things may help others to recognise what you're experiencing otherwise it's a bit like saying why won't my car start with no other details provided.... so some more detail will help.
When I was running the latest UK HTC WWE WM 6.1 ROM on my HTC Branded TyTN II I sometimes found it took longer than usual to come out of sleep so thinking I'd not pushed the button hard enough, I pushed it again - only to find the screen would briefly flash as it came out of powersaving mode and then it went black again as it went back in - could this be whats happening and how long are you waiting after pushing the button?
Sorry, I got an HTC TyTNII. ROM 1.81.415.4wwe, ROM Date 10/29/2007, Radio 1.27.15.32, Protocol 22.51.88.13H.
Most of the time the sleep mode ends easily, but if I leave the phone to charge it sometimes will give me the issues........
Jim
Funny, that happens to me quite often too. I have Dutty's WM6.1 WWE installed. Also I have the slide2unlock installed on it. The radio version is 1.58.25.17. Even when I don't have the phone on charge at times it does it. I have another AT&T Tilt that only has the Slide2Unlock on it the rest is factory, but sometimes I see that does it also.. Another thing I also experience is that sometimes it'll just restart by itself, but maybe that's to clear up memory or something?

Search for 'Standby of death'. There is a while thread where people are discussing it. I htink mine may have been caused by some offending software, as I get it much less now once I have uninstalled it.
Thanks kevin!
I had the Standby of Death SOD this is when the phone fails to come out of standby with a power button press. This issue only affects some people on some networks. I'm not sure if its a network problem or a software problem but as only a minority of people have it, I suspect its mainly a network problem there is a software solution.
The solution is to change the phone settings band option from auto 3G/2G to either 3G Only (WCDMA + UTMS 2100 in Europe) or 2G Only (GSM + AUTO) depending on your requirements.
Also read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540943&highlight=standby&page=2where the resolution was to get a new SIM
Obviously this only solves the problem when the crash is because of the sim and/or settings which impact the sim. To rule out a software cause its best to start with a hard reset.
nlel, please stop going to every "Standby of Death" thread and adding your answer to it. Adding it to one thread is enough, three or more is just overkill, especially when the threads you've been posting to have been dead for months. Thanks,
Dave

Calling on some of my fellow chefs to help with a problem

I have been having trouble with my kitchens and some strange behavior I have never seen before. So here goes and sometimes we get narrow sighted when looking for problems.
Some Basic information first:
Ervius Visual Kitchen
WM 6.5 Native kernel
WM 6.5 builds 21869 & 23071
Storage card reformated and blank.
Tried both with and without extendir
Tried both with and without modifed XIP
RunCC set to reset
Manila 2.5
All LEO packages except Dshow, Phone Canvas, SensorSDK.dll, Power, etc.
Not using OOBE setup package.
Now My problem as best as I can describe.
The best way I can describe is a startup problem. Device boots fine and goes through RunCC ok and resets. On second start when the background appears and the titlebar is shown the phone signal icon is showing no signal. The conection setup will the show up and the progress bar goes through and the say done. Sometimes it will not even go in to the connection setup. When you press done the screen does not update but you can see the title bar and the phone still shows no signal. Manila will not start it seems without a radio signal.
Now some of the weird part. Sometimes if I press around on the volume buttons and more so on the title bar and task manager it will sometime refresh and the signal pops up at 100 % signal. It is like the signal was there all along but not updated. As soon as the signal is there Manila starts to load up. One loaded all is ok.
On soft reset it is usually ok with a occasional same problem as above.
On hard reset the same problem as above is quite frequent.
Any help or ideas welcome.
I think it RunCC...
Try a different build of RunCC.
Try to use another connection setup package including ConnectionSetupDB, also check the runcc.lua, maybe you have something over there which may cause the problem during runcc.
