Sync files on a storage card. - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Using Vista Mobile Device Center it will only sync the device's My Documents folder , where no option auto-sync a storage card.
In Mobile center you can only select which files you can sync - but now which folders ?!?!? How stupid Is that ? ?!?!

How did you get on with this 3UK?
I am having issues with this too. I have a heap of largish electronic manuals that I need to keep on the Storage Card. I want them to to sync the the Vista Mobile Device Center File sync folder. In my case "Loggers Docs on TyTNII" This way I can edit the docs when the Kaiser is not connected and changes I make will sync to the device.
Has anyone come up with a solution for this? Seems ridiculous that one can have a 8GB memory card cull of documents and none of them syncing!

Email attachments

How do I email an attachment w/Tilt using gmail and the regular email app that comes w/the Tilt. I see were i can attach a pic, but it goes to the device my pictures folder, i can't see were to get into the storage card folder, i see were you can select all folders and it brings up everything on teh device, but nothing on the storage card, the programs files is empty on all folders too, can you not attach from the storage card w/the outlook email? Also is there a way to make a my documents folder on the device that has a path to the storage card?

Files Sync Folder on kaiser

Is there a reg hack to change the default folder that syncs with your desktop through Activesync? I would like to have a folder on my micro SD card sync, rather than the "My Documents" folder on the device itself.
I am sure I have read a post that had a hack for this, but I'll be darned if I can find it now!
TIA,
MW

Complete mail sync

I wan't to sync my emails completely, the whole mail with attachment.
In fact I the settings in the Windows Mobile Device Center are like that, but especially small mails (2 - 6kB) aren't downloaded completely.
Also one attachment with 14MB doesn't sync, not automatically, not manually.
Anybody an idea?
You got enough room?
Tried setting attachtments do download on Internal Storage?
It should work...
Yes, I set the storage of mails and attachments to Internal Storage through the registry.
Mh, it seems to be like that:
Mails with text below 6kB don't sync, text above that and attachments are synced mainly correct.
Up to now I suppose the settings in the windows mobile device manager have really no effect on the synchronisation.
Is there any possibility to change these settings within the phone?

Internal storage and activesync

I have been trying now for about 5 hours, but I can not find a way to change the active sync pathway to the internal storage area on the device.
I have 4 GB but the only way I can fill them up is by manualy transfering the files using the disk drive function and a USB conection.
Isn't there an easier way to sync the phones internal mem?
Active Sync will not let me choose where on the device it sync's the "my documents" too when I include "sync files". And windows media player doesn't know what day it is never mind which device it is talking too.
Can anyone help me?

Two very important questions

1. I have contacts on my X1, and on my PC (Outlook).
I make a sync - will all of the contacts appear on my X1 and PC
I mean all of the PC ones on X1, and all from X1 on PC?
So contact is lost in that process?
2. What happens when one takes out the memory card out of X1?
And puts it back?
Will all the programs installed on card work normally?
Question nr.2
For the 2 question when i take out memory card and put it back nothing changed, all apps on storage card work ok. I have 2gb card with garmin navigation, and other items.
For 1 question cant answer because i dont have outlook.
My os is windows 7 for the time.

Ok, thank you too.
Hopefully somebody DOES sync.
I actually came to the idea I remove all of the contacts, notes etc. from PC and run Sync. Hope to see all the data copied to my PC!

I SYNC!
I think it will merge the two sets of people it will add to both - but if there are any overlaps it will either ask you or there is a setting which is under Mobile Device Center which says "Overwrite contacts from X1 or PC" or something like that - although i have had someproblems with outlook where when syncing it would randomly delete both from my phone and x1 but luckily outlook has a recycle bin like feature.
Hope this anwers your question

Okay looks like my answer!
Thanks!
Done this lots of times and yes, Activesync on the PC will prompt you whether you want to merge or overwrite the data - which then applies for all your Outlook data inc. contacts, calendar, tasks and notes. If you choose to merge, AS should work out which is the most recent record when encountering exact duplicates and ditch the oldest one.
But from experience if your data is important to you I STRONGLY recommend that you do a backup of your PC Outlook data first (e.g. by exporting all to a new PST file), and also on the handheld with the excellent and free PIM Backup application, before you connect the two together. Otherwise you may end up with lots of duplications (or worse, unseen deletions), which can be an absolute nightmare to sort out.
PIM backup is also useful for keeping your essential data safe on your SD card should you need to hard reset the phone while you're away from your PC.

Just to add to that - you could also use Microsofts MyPhone service - at least that is what i have been using to store data online so there is even less chance of it being lost
Guys I really appreciate your help.
I already have PPCPimBackup,
I just wanted to be sure I understand the sync.
Right now I want to delete all contacts on my Outlook,
and sync this with X1 so all data from X1 will be copied there.
The reason is that I previously sync'd my other smartphone,
P1 on Symbian/UIQ with Outlook (to have all my contacts on X1)
but it made loose all "+" in all contacts lol.
So I manually put all "+" on X1 contacts and now want to just put it on Outlook too without a hassle....
Don't restore the PPCPimBackup contacts unless you have to. i.e lost contacts on X1 & Outlook.
I did a hard restart and it sync'd the contacts from Outlook like it should via ActiveSync. Then I restored a PPCPimBackup backup and ended up with two of every contact on the X1 and in Outlook. :/
