I am running On Farias Rom. I noticed that before, when i pressed the "end" button, it would minimize the program. Now when i press the end button it disconnects me from my GPRS connection. Is there any way to stop this? With the older roms, i would only be disconnected from GPRS is i HELD the end button down for a couple of seconds. Now it disconnects me immediately after i press the end button. This poses some problem for my instant messaging programs which require an active connection. This problem is NOT solved by keeping the GPRS always on. All that setting does is reconnect me to the GPRS when i get disconnected (by pressing the end button). Is there any way to reverse this so that i only disconnect if i HOLD down the end button?
this is starting to make sense now. This is why i have to hit end twice to get back to the home screen. annoying...

I also have Faria's ROM and could not duplicate your issue. I am not saying you aren't experiencing it, just that whether I am at the today screen or in a program and I hit the "end" key (red phone icon, right?) it either takes me back to the today screen or if I am already there makes the phone beep at me.
When I held it for a few seconds it did terminate the GPRS connection, but then it kicked right back in again. I have registry wizard set to "always on GPRS"
Sorry I can't actually help...
But that's also another thing. I don't want it ALWAYS on. I need it on when i am using it. But when i am using it, i don't want it to disconnect GPRS when i press the end button. It should only disconnect from GPRS if i HOLD down the end button (yes, the red telephone key). Having my GPRS always on, and the window that keeps popping up to tell me that it is reconnecting after i ended a phone call or stopped the gprs connection gets rather annoying. Not to mention the gigantic battery drain it is to have the connection on 247
If you do not want to disconnect GPRS with the END (call) button, you can set the value of the following registry key to 1:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\(GPRS connection name)\AlwaysOn
Thanx a tonn man
Thanx for the registry key value... I am a noob, you actually saved me. I was just about to flash my current ROM just because the registry value is set to 0. & the gprs DISCONNECTS AFTER PRESSING red button. tHANX A LOT.
CHEERS...
Can anyone advise how I can reset my device to the original state it came in the box. My previous device you had press 2 buttons on the keypad and the reset button. Anyone help with the Kaiser?
Thanks,
Sunny.
Settings -> Sytem -> Clear Storage
Make sure you have backed up your data.
gogol I am your new best friend.....many thanks!
Hold in two soft keys and then reset with stylus thats a true hard reset. Much more info posted in the first sticky in Kaiser Upgrading Thread
"true" hard reset? I think it is the same thing with that "Clear Storage".
Just read the manual and I did once.
Hi sunny
I hope this will help you:
HardReset: Hold Talk and End soft key - Reset :When prompted push Green Talk Button
Enter Bootloader mode: Hold Camera + Power buttons together and reset with stylus
Thanks Chris and others. Very useful!!!
Hi
My device has gone really wrong all of sudden. Keeps locking up, weird application corruption etc. I have taken out the battery a number of times. The phone boots up and seems to be ok, but if I slide out the keyboard nothing happens on screen. If I try and make a call the touch screen will not work to dial a number. Weird screen corruption. I thought this device was too good to be true.
I want to do a hard reset. HOwever not sure what the buttons are.
HardReset: Hold Talk and End soft key - Reset :When prompted push Green Talk Button
What is the "hold talk" and end soft key?
This will clear up any confussion i hope:
-Enter Bootloader mode: Hold Camera + Power buttons together and reset with stylus(thanks pof)
-HardReset: Hold Both soft keys in while pushing in Reset button :When prompted push Green Talk Button to clear data.
Greetings,
After searching the forum, I've been unable to discover a tweak so that when I press and hold the red button, I can power on (or off) the radio for the phone. None of the buttonmapping apps that I've played with seems to provide this function. This has been handy on my eten x500 and I'd like to use it on the tilt.
Thanks for a great forum.....glad to be part of the community!
AE Button Plus will.

Thanks,
I'll give it a try.
Maybe
Hmmm, some evidence that an AEBPlus "long press" is not detected on the red button is here.
I attempted to map red button long press to Device Lock and it did not work.

Right, AEB can't detect the long press, but, it can still be mapped for double and tripple presses just fine.
confirm no red button long press
I can confirm that AEBPlus does not work with the red button long press, and that configuring a double or triple press does work to turn off the phone radio.
Oops, sorry about that. I was unaware of the issue with the long press. Hopefully a double press will serve almost as well.

From another thread:
"the regedits HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\LongEndFunction enables or disables the longendkey function.
When I set it to 1 it enables the function, however it only does a devicelock."

I haven't tried it yet.
I will try to explain the problem as simple as possible even if it's not.
The problem is as following: after closing "opera" and I disconnect from WIFI after awhile being used pressing immediately the "hang up buttom" to enter into the rapid menu or the specific function that I selected, it does not do what it's suppose to but the touch flow iscons scroll towards the right. The only solution to abilitate once again the original fucntion is to do a soft reset.
Can you help me?
thanks
I have been experiencing something similar. Sometimes a press on the end call button seems to be registered by the phone as a "move right" command. I have no idea what it is. Can anyone help? After I go back "home" everything seems ok.
Maybe that touch pad at the bottom is not as good as it should be?
ok but why after soft reset the button turn ok?
please help me
I just noticed that when I press up or down in TF3D, my diamond registers two presses. For example, when I am in the contacts tab and I press down, it automatically goes down two contacts (so it skips one contact). No matter how short I press the button. It's pretty anoying.
Anyone else has this problem?
It only happens in TF3D
