Hi, I am new to this forum.
I have a question, I just got my Kasier a weeks ago.... before I have a T-Mobile Wing
I try to set up my phone to use the T-Zone
I can get it work, but I cannot get the IM thing working though the T-Zone.
I do install the Agile Messenger & IM+ both of them only can use it on the wifi when i at home...... any way i can use those program when i use t-zone?
I only pay 5 dollars per month......for the T-zone.
ANy info or suggestion will be help.....
As far as I know, T-zones only allows you to use certain ports. Now the IM client might be using other ports that are blocked. For more information on what ports are enabled or not, go here: http://wiki.howardforums.com/index.php/T-Mobile_Data

If you want to use AIM, in IM+ change the AIM port to 110. Then IM+ should work over T-Zones.

Hey guys,
I ran across this great product i'm testing right now that seems to be working flawlessly, it's called Kerio MailServer. I setup all our windows mobile devices in the house (5) and all sync flawlessly. The neat thing is you dont need to run server OS, it installed on my spare XP box. Very cool.
Just thought i'd share for anyone looking for a cheap direct-push email solution.

Thanks for the heads up. I went to the webpage and browsed through their supported windows devices. The herald is not listed.
When it comes to apps, it's more about whether WM6 is supported than whether the Herald is supported.
I personally use a free exchange server. Works for what I need it, so I'm happy with it.
I have an unlocked Tilt I am running on the T-mobile network. I have managed to get some cooked roms on it, and they seem to run fine except one problem. With all the WM 6.1 roms i have tried, including the stock HTC rom (probably 4 or 5 total), I cannot open an attachment from email. It gives me the opportunity to download it, and it looks like it does, but nothing happens. I have hard reset, but this problem still persists. Right now i am running the stock AT&T WM 6.0 rom without the extra/trial junk it installs, because it does not have this problem, and i need this feature to work for my job. Does anyone know what may be causing this? Thanks in advance.
Problem solved. Sort of....
After extensive research into this problem, i finally found the solution. Thanks PaulW! It seems that this is an issue with WM 6.1 phones syncing with Exchange server that also has the citrix licensing server installed. The isapi_redirect.dll file in the Tomcat web server that Citrix Licensing Server installed is interfering with the activesync functions. when i disabled citrix licensing server and restarted IIS, all works as expected. Hopefully MS or Citrix will come up with a fix soon. I will post back if i find out something else. We have moved the licensing server to another machine temporarily as a workaround.

Any chance you have a copy of PaulW's modified dll file?
The link on his page is broken.
Worked for me.
Hey everyone, I have an ATT Tilt with windows 6.1. I have unlimited txt. I would like to use aim on my tilt, the only thing is that it dosent show all my buddys. Ive been googling for a program to install that still uses SMS and not data. So i came here to see if anyone knows one that is like the Oz one that comes preinstalled.
Thanks Steve
you can download the new aim mobile http://mobile.aol.com/aolproducts/aim-for-windows-mobile or get octrotalk (no visuals, use aim, yahoo, msn). you need a gmail account though to use octrotalk...you can even use gchat on it too. works well and doesnt use to much memory
does it use text messages or data?

Looking at the web site, it shows:
"*U.S. only. AOL Mobile services may require a wireless data plan and charges from your wireless carrier may apply. Not all AOL Mobile services are available on all wireless carriers or on all wireless devices. Check with your wireless carrier to confirm that product use is consistent with your carrier's Terms of Service."
why would you have a phone like this and NOT have data?
he could be like me and used to only have a razr but his lovely gf bought him a kaiser =]
as for the official aim program ,it uses data/wifi. i am also in search for an aim program that uses text instead of data ( data disocnnects too much where i work).
?? blackberry?
texters are for blackberrys! hehe i had a blackberry for 5 years! now i got the Tilt and never going back specialy with 6.1 a big improvment better than my last try for a windows mobile phone witch was a 8525 with 6.0 rom
data is 40 dollars. also the best messanger is www.beejive.com
its in alpha stage but, it works 100% and they wont bring it out of alpha stage. I dont not know why... cuz its a great program
Hey all, I just got my HTC dream on june 2nd and am switching from a sidekick lx. Note that I'm in Canada. Love this phone, but one deal breaker is the lack of an msn client. I tried some of the client available on the market, but connectivity sucked. I read somewhere on this forum that after the 1.5 (cupcake) update that an msn client was added. Our canadian htc dream came with a different version of 1.5 and does not have the msn client. My questions are this:
1. Is there anyway to get .apk for this application that you lucky americans got with the 1.5 update? If so can someone direct me to it?
2. Is the connectivity better than hi msn and meebo? Both of those suck if I'm not wifi connected.
your wrong. cupcake is the first version with no defult clients other than Gtalk. The old ones has an app called IM and it had MSN. At least the 1.1 does.
Thanks for the clarification. Is there anyway to get a good msn client on the g1 without root?
The US (T-Mobile) Cupcake build has the IM app with AIM/MSN/Yahoo. It has been ported to various other cupcake builds as well, most based on JF 1.51 (cyanogen's seems most popular right now).
I have yet to see it working on a rogers or HTC build.
The built in IM app also uses SMS instead of data, which many people dislike. Connectivity is also questionable, and from my experience, similar to any other app since android automatically shuts off background apps when memory is needed.
From my understanding, you will probably need root to get the IM app. Unless you can adb remount and push on an unrooted build which I don't think is possible.
Thanks for the info. The text message usage is very undesireable. Geez... who thought that would be a good idea?? I suppose i'll just hope and pray that hi msn or some other market download gets better. Thanks so much for the clarification, i thought i was missing out.
