Anybody knowing the program for yahoo messenger and using the webcam at tytn 2 ? The IM + doesnt support that...
Thanks
As far as I know, there is no way currently to use the Cameras as a webcam. MSPortrait is a free beta app that can connect to MSN, ILS etc. It does suport video both ways, in theory, but it will not use the front facing camera and video performance was poor to non existant in my trials. CoolCamera also do webcam software but it is not compatible with the Kaiser yet.

Hello,
I tried to use the MS portrait but by default it selects the first camera not the secondary front facing. In options there is only one camera listed, whats the solution to this?
Thank you.
What are you tring to do? There is camera software for winmo phones that is great for using different cams and stuff here it is http://www.ateksoft.com/
If you haven't tried ComVu PocketCaster, I highly recommend it.

I'm trying to use MSN messanger/portrait with the front facing camera?
You got portrait to work on the Kaiser? With me it always throws an error.
What version did you install?
beta, 3.1 but its using the main camera, not the front camera.
HI,
I recently bought HTC tytn II. My main purpose to buy this powerfull device is Voice chat and Video chat...
Please let me know the performance of MS portrait on tytn II... can we do voice chat smoothly?????
My experience of MS Portrait on my Kaiser is not very good.
It only seems to work with other versions of Portrait for voice or video and not with Live Messenger.
IM text chat to PC Live Messenger works just as well as "Mobile" Live Messenger to PC Live Messenger, and I stil get incoming Hotmail notifications.
Video, even over wifi LAN, was poor to non existent in my experience.
The only Camera it will work with is the rear facing camera, I tried setting up the forward facing camera in the camera app and then going into the settings for Portrait but still only the rear facing camera works.
I havent tried a 3g Video Phone call so I have no idea how well the Kaiser copes with the demands of 2 way video and audio processing and data transfer, but as far as portrait goes technically it works as a proof of concept but is far from being usable. Portrait is only beta software so there is hope for future improvements. Cool Camera and Webcam Plus, both from Ateksoft, were mentioned earlier but are not currently compatible with the Kaiser.
I have read somewhere that HTC have not released the full APIs for the cameras. I guess this will hinder 3rd party development.
does anyone know how to get the CAM to work when you use skype on the kaiser.
Not possible, unfortunatly atm
Do you mean video con? I wish skype can add in this feature into mobile skype...
To me skype sound alone is rubbish
So today I was messing with an old digital camera of mine and I had it connected to my PC and I noticed while it was connected windows was able to use it as a webcam even though the Camera had no mention of this as a feature at all. I was able to use it as a webcam on yahoo messenger and MSN messenger.
The digital camera is like a cheap 1.5 mp toy that can't even make videos. The question is would there be a way to someone maybe create a app or a driver that would allow windows/linux to use the camera as a webcam ?
Hey guys,
Using every video conference app I can find, it defaults to the rear camera.
I recently upgraded gtalk to the new version with video conference - tried it using a test account on my laptop (camera conference between phone account and laptop account) and again, defaults to the rear camera.
Would anyone know of any fix to this? None of the apps I've found so far provide even the option to switch, which would seem like the most obvious thing to do!
Cheers

I'm experiencing the same problem.
I just installed Yahoo Messenger for Android (official app) which has now support for video calling, but again it uses only the rear camera.
Maybe there's a tweak/hack to make the apps "think" that the front camera is the rear camera?
Ive tried yahoo, tango, fring and gtalk it ain't working lol

So I've been running the sense 3 previews of bamf 2 and wishing I still had skype cause my wife likes to video with her parents. Anyways, came across oovoo, works like a champ, my video quality isn't quite a good with the ffc as it was with skype but hey, I can video chat to pc, and it works both ways! Unlike gtalk etc. adding contacts was screwy but I made 2 accounts and talked to myself on my laptop, worked on 3g and wifi. Just thought I'd give a heads up. Supposedly it works to skype, but I haven't tested this yet. Rear camera also works and of course gives better quality than front, but then its not really chatting is it?
