Can't delete Gmail

I somehow managed to set up my Gmail account in Messaging, but I don't want to use it anymore. Now I can't figure out how to delete it. When I open Messaging, I see the "Select an Account" screen with three choices: Messages, Gmail, and New E-mail Account. If I select Gmail and tap Menu, I see Options and Delete. Delete does nothing, and Options takes me to a screen where I'm asked to "Tap an account to change settings." But Gmail isn't one of the choices. Back on the "Select an Account" screen, I tried tapping and holding on the Gmail account to bring up a menu that might have Delete in it, but nothing happens. I'd just like to read my Gmail through a browser and don't need it in Messaging, but I can't figure out how to delete it. Step-by-step answers, please, and don't assume I know anything. Thanks.

[Q] WP7 Address Book HELP !!!!!!

Hi Guys,
I'm having trouble trying to figure out the following.....
I go to the people hub, and then autos to "All" . . . . . The list shows all my contacts, however it shows ALL my HOTMAIL contacts and my Contacts from my SIM CARD.
All I want is the contacts on my sim card LISTED in the PEOPLE HUB, and dont want WP7 to alo use the HOTMAIL contacts list......
Any one know how to do this ???

goto settings. open each of your hotmail accounts and you will find sync options. untick contacts

I cant find what you mentioned. Could you write a step by step if you dont mind please, just incase anyone has the same issue ?

there is one exception though, your primary Live account, you can only select to sync your mail or not, the contacts will always get sync'd, I kinda got the mess under control via syncing facebook and only showing contacts that matched in email / facebook.

Here's how it SHOULD work:
Swipe to app list
Settings
Swipe to 'applications' settings
select 'people'
swipe down to list of accounts
select the account you don't want contacts for
deselect 'people' from the 'content to synchronise' set of checkboxes.
Sadly, that isn't an option for my Live login, so I have weird random MSN contacts in my list of people alongside the Exchange contacts I actually want.
Annoying! Also, you can't delete the Live account.

So really we have an issue already...... L O L
Hopefully MICROSOFT WP7 team can fix this.....I'll think I'll send them a tweet, and it would be great if you guys could do the same if you use twitter ....

Do you need to Delete Emails on the phone after downloaded to pc inbox ?

Question: I am coming from an S4 and in the email settings I had the option to select "Delete email from server" set to " When I delete from Inbox". In this way if I deleted an email from my phone the email did not download in my pc outlook inbox because it was delete from the server directly.
This is not happening with the Flex. I have tried the 3 options available " Never, When I delete from Trash folder" and the other one but nothing.
Also, If I have emails on my phone and I open my pc outlook inbox, all the emails remain in the phone and never disappear...
Is this normal or I am missing something ??

Can't edit contacts

guys
I have maybe 10 contacts sync'd from my gmail but most are from exchange. When I go into contacts and try to edit one of the exchange contacts (have mailwise), it still says I can only save it into gmail. When I click on linked contact in the attached screenshot, it clearly says exchange
How do i fix this? I want to maintain all contacts in exchange and also save any edits directly there
When I go into contacts -> settings, under default account for new contacts, it only shows my gmail and it's checked

Have you ever been able to fix this problem? I have the same issue on several Android devices from different brands; none of the native Contacts apps is able to add new exchange contacts.
The only app that can add a new contact is "Contact Editor free" that I have downloaded from the Google Play store.

How to disable phone "sync" for the Contacts?

I have the following issue: it looks to me that the contacts app on my Samsung does a kind of sync of contacts on the phone.
For example I have a DAV synchronization of my professional accounts, and as you see in the attached image, Mat is twice in my contacts, once in "Phone Storage" (I have never added him there or enable any kind of synchronization on my phone) and once in the normal DAV address book.
The problem I have is that in my work address book I have removed Mat's phone number, but it still exists in the Phone storage.
Can I turn off this automatic synchronization with the Phone storage, or at least force my phone to do it correctly?
I mention that this is the case with all my address books, it is the same behavior with my private contacts in Microsoft 365 and that I never edit my contacts on my phone, only in my work account or in my Microsoft 365 account directly, so I can say that the synchronization is always one way, from the external system to my phone.

Try this :
Go to settings - apps - tap on the sorting icon on the right of the 'your apps' area and enable 'show system apps'.
Go to 'google contacts sync'. Choose force stop and disable it.

Thank you! I have done what you have proposed, but I still have all my contacts in the "Phone Storage". Can I delete them safely? How?
