How do you get this smiley face in the tilt bar? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Just wondering how do you get this smiley face in the title bar & what is it for exactly. Thanks.
I just tried to load a picture of the screen shot, but i couldn't. Basically, there is a smiley face just left of the 3G logo.

Its for PTT, it means you are logged in and available...
If its a red circle with a white x then it means you are on Do Not Disturb.
If its a blue circle then it means you are logged out.

thank you--i thought maybe it for for a 3g signal...

Disable trackball pulse when screen on

I remember when the Milestone got one of its updates, Motorola set it up so that the notification light would only pulse when the screen is off. This is helpful because it can be very distracting, and besides which, there is already a notification bar displaying the same information.
Is there any way I can do the same with the Nexus One, and suppress the glowing trackball only when the screen is off?
Thanks

If you are on cyanogen you can. You can change the colors too.

Yes I'm already on CM6 and I'm loving the custom trackball colours. But I can't find an option to disable it when the screen is on. Could you direct me to this feature? *EDIT: I found it, "always pulse" is in the Advanced menu. I think the behaviour is a bit wonky though because I already had it disabled and I was still sporadically getting pulses with screen on. I will have to test this further.
Also I'm wondering how CM6 comes up with the list of apps whose colours I can customize. I'm running the Trillian Beta and it pulses white for notifications, but there is no option to customize it in-app and Trillian doesn't appear in the package list for custom colours. I'd love to customize that one too.
Okay I just experienced it again. I was using androidVNC when a text message came in. The ball started glowing green even though the "always pulse" option was disabled. I went into Settings to confirm as much. I checked the option and unchecked it, and then the pulsing stopped.
So it seems that sometimes the OS "forgets" and pulses the trackball anyway even though the screen is on?
ive got the complete opposite problem, sometimes for me it doesnt pulse and sometimes it does only wen the screen is on. but it seems as if it does watever it wants to. must be some sort of problem... also mine doesnt pulse the colors i ask it too as if it doesnt get that i just got an email and i want to pulse it blue instead just white. it seems messed up

[Q] Notfications - Screen turns on

Hi,
I'm mainly following the
[ROM][M7UL][JB][4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 official nightlies
thread, as I'm currently running the latest CM 10.1 nightly. The LED on the HTC one is very limited and only has two colors (red and green) as per HTC website. So I was wondering if there's the possibility for a different kind of notification? Examples could be:
- Screen turns on and shows a message about the app that caused a notification.
- Screen turns on in a rhythm to only display the status bar and the symbols of the notifications.
- The buttons (back and home button) blink.
I tried to search if a similar discussion has already taken place, but the search didn't work and I gave up after manually looking through 5 or so pages of open threads.
thanks,
aspast.
Are there no possibilities for this?
If a notification pops up while the screen is locked and the whole screen remains black except for the little notification icon or the whole notification bar. This could be an optional notification feature for CM or similar.

There are lockscreen alternatives in the play store that allow this, Holo Locker for one. That allows the screen to turn on and show banners, similar to iOS but I know the stock Android lockscreen doesn't show anything other than in the status bar ... Even more frustrating is the fact I have to unlock my device to answer a call. There are so many good features in Android but the way notifications are handled is terrible IMO.
there already are some kernels that have the back and the home buttons flash glow when a notification comes up.

[Q] Is there an app that shows the location of wifi hotspots for s3 mini?

I saw an app once on a friend's device, i dont know what device or what the app was called, what the app did was show a dark green circle, like a radar display, in the middle of the circle was a bright green arrow, representing the person holding the phone, and an the circle it would show bright green dots representing wifi hotspots. next to each dot had the hotspot name, and the number of feet away from you the hotspot is. the idea was that you would be able to see the approximate location of a hotspot, along with the direction it was in, so that you knew where to go to get a stronger signal. if anyone knows an app like the one i described, let me know!
Wow ! It sounds cool ! I didn't know that play store has such great app ! If anyone found it, please let us know,

[Q] Icon disappear from top bar on Wake/lockscreen

Hey All..
Noticed that when i turn on my HTC One M7 software no: 6.09.401.11 android 4.4.3
Right next to the battery save icon in the top bar an icon disappear after like 1 sec when i wake up my phone and its still in the lockscreen..
This makes it impossible to actually unlock the phone and see what this is..
The icon is like the red part of the icon for Maps.. But its only the outer line of it with like a pause symbol inside.. It the same color (white) like the battery icon and clock in the top bar.
Anyone here who can give me an answer what this icon is for? Can it be some sort of app that pause my location when my phone is in sleep mode?
Hope someone out there have seen it too and got an answer...
I have recently (the last week or two) started getting this symbol as well, no clue what it is!

I'm thinking it just hasn't been a big concern of theirs. It bothers me from time to time. For instance I can't always grab it and swipe it away because it's not really located where it shows it... But I've just come to live with it, been almost 2 years now.
