Hi,
I would like to use gprs abroad but a friend of mine who has tried this says that it ask for a code when a foreign sim card is inserted.
the strange thing is that he says that his XDA IIi is unlocked so he can use orange voda and t-mobile sims on it.
why would it be asking for another type of code if it is unlocked?
O2 charge an arm and a leg for GPRS useage abroad
please help
Thanks
Hello!
I got a DualSimadapter. My idea was one card for internet (o2 )and one for calls (t-mobile).
But there is a Problem. When i use the T-Mobile card the Diamond connects to the internet, too. Dont know why it can use the o2 settings for it.
Is is possible to deactivate the internet when one of the cars is used and reactivate it, when the other one is used?
Ans why is it possible, that teh tmobile card uses the o2 internet settings?
Thanks for your attention

hi there,
you could useNoData when you are using the phone only sim.
Could you tell me what dual sim product you are using? I was thinking of getting one so I dont have to have my work phone with me all the time.
Grtz,

Hi, I SIM unlocked my trinity. I now can insert a SIM Card of any carrier and use it as a phone But when I try to connect to GPRS/UMTS it tells me imediatly (~ 500ms) that the connection was terminated by the other side. With the stock WM5 ROM (Vodafone Germany) it say its not allowed the connect to gprs in the current network.
Does anybody have an idea what I can do?
Thank you
Do you have all the appropriate settings for GPRS for the new carrier configured?
Yes i did. Settings are correct and GPRS worls with the original carrier SIM. And the new SIM works in an old BlueAngel. I guess, since the device tells me immediatly that I cant connect to GPRS, it is still SIM locked in some part. I already tried the free SIM unlocker from XDA-Devs.
Do you have an idea?
Does the Trinity make/receive calls with the new SIM? If so then it is not SIM locked.
It sounds as though you are still trying to use the GPRS settings for the original provider, this will not work for a different carrier, i am assuming the new SIM is from a different carrier.
GPRS settings are carrier specific.
Are you saying that the GPRS works in the BA? If so have you duplicated the GPRS settings from the BA?
I' ve got a TYTN2 with TIR v15
I suscribed a Vodafone ADSL contract for ADSL and waiting for Vodafone station. They gave me a DATA SIM 128K with codes. This sim is ment to be fit in the vodafone station via USB key, the sim will give me backup internet connectivity (if the adsl is down) or if its not i can use it to navigate the internet paing a certain price.
I'm waiting for the Vodafone station to arrive and (since the SIM should be already activated) im tring to use it with my TYTN 2 to navigate.
The problem is that i cannot connect to the internet maybe couse i'm doing something wrong.
The phone says No Network, no service (i' m sure there is cover couse with my other personal SIM i can connect) and doesnt connect or register.
Cant activate data connection.
If i try with find network, it says no service (network selection is on automatic). If i go in preferred networks i see vodafoneIT cheched and also many others.
Everithing is set to auto (GSM/UMTS/HSDPA)...
Can anyone give me a clue?
thanx
If you are getting no server it sounds to me like the SIM is infact not activated or blocked
Call Vodafone
hi, does anyone know how to make so that, when i put my "bell" simcard into the xperia, the auto setup would recognize the bell simcard because there is no database for bell. is there a cab for it?
thanks in advance!
If there's no DB entry in the connection setup app for your carrier, it means HTC has never released a phone that was sold by that carrier.
You'll need to enter the data connection settings yourself.
