Hi All,
I bought HTC Tytn II recently... It's rock.....
But i am very disappointed with the earphone quality of HTC... No Bass at all.... I am not saying mp3 playing quality is bad... I tried my motorola BT stereo headset and it gave me fantastic output with heavy bass..... So the quality of my HTC earphone is bad...
I found several earphones on HTC website.... can you please help me to find out an excellent HTC earphone which can give full Bassy effects.... or any other brand which haves mini usb port...... Dont want converters please.......

Why not? You are unlikely to find a decent pair of USB earphones IMHO.
I'd get a small adapter and buy some sure earphones for the best possible sound.

don't mean to hijack the thread but can anybody recommend a good bluetooth stereo headset? i want one that will be good with music and also allow me to make calls.
I am particularly looking for an in ear type earphone or a unit that allows me to use my own ear buds.

I've got the i-Tech Clip Radio (http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=145553). Works well with the kaiser, got play/pause, next/prev, volume, and call buttons, bulit in FM radio, and allows you to plug your own earphones in as it has a 3.5 jack.

How is this unit for bass?
Also it looks just like the htc S100, did HTC rebrand it?

I listen to alot of dance music, and with Sony's EX-71s it does me fine!
Yeh, the S100 is HTC's rebranded version of the non FM radio version!

I also have the iTech clip (excellent unit with medium audio quality) as it can handle calls and lets you use any 3.5mm jack units you have but you have loads of cables about (use my B&O earbuds on that).
For genaral use and if I want to anser a call I use the Promate PM-2006 BT stereo headset as it is a halfway sized headphone with good audio quality and in call holding.
But for sheer audio enjoyment, I use my Creative CB2530, absolute bliss and can put most Hi-Fi's to shame.
SOZ, probably not what the thread starter asked for but WHO is gonna produce a GOOD set of headphones terminated in a mini usb? You will need the converter or BT (no converter at all!)
Every BT unit I have works seamlessly, no clicks, no splutters, no bad audio with my 'out of the box' non-carrier HTC TyTnII.
Damn, its either the beer or I should have been a salesman! Smiles.

There aren't any "best" headphones without using an adapter. If you want the best you'll need to spend you're looking at the Shure SE530 or go custom which is around $1000. It all depends on your budget.

ive got the Shure e4c's connected through an adapter and i can say you can't get better sound.. its so crystal clear, it sounds better than live people in front of you talking

Well yes to the pairing to two sperate devices, and no to the 'very good sound quality but aren't humongous'. The Promate PM-2006 headset is a 'medium' sized' 'medium to good quality' folding headset with mike. Pair it to both units then disable the function you don't want it to do on whichever phone (under BT settings). It will halt audio and answer the call from the other unit. These headphones were primarily developed to use with a BT mp3 players with capability to connect to your mobile phone but WM phones do both!

Look at the Jabra BT8010. They're a little large, but have the advantage of using it in mono or stereo mode, as well as connecting to 2 devices simultaneously.

Incidentally, Seidio makes earphones that end in the proprietary htc mini-usb format. Haven't tested them out, but they're the only other ones i know of that don't need a converter.

Another vote for iTech Clip Radio. Works awesome with my Ultimate Ears Super fi 5 Extended Bass buds.

The best headphones I ever bought and have the most functionality. The only problem that some people might have is the look and size of the headphones. I have not charged the headphones for a month now and still running on standby.

I think it might be possible using the Sony Erickson BT Earphone Stereo set. Check FleaBay... They got them cheaper than anywhere else. ( BT phone would have to be close to you, just disable the bluetooth on N93i, however The Sony Er unit has a 3.5 jack that can be plugged into the N93i, just marry the TytnII to the bluetooth)

If you marry to phones BT to the headset, and if you get a call from one while listening to music from the other, you will hear both the caller voice and the music at the same time. Jabra is one headset that I know of that can accept two devices, however when tried, I heard the device playing music however the music volume was very low while I talked on the phone. Not a great setup but might do the trick.

i'm using an r35 itech headset. has ad2p, you can change the headset to plug in more quality cans (uses a 3.5mm jack), there's a buzzer that can be enabled when a call comes through. take note, this is a clip-type headset. which means the "body" is clipped to my collar while there's a wire which leads to the earpiece. i like it because i don't have anything dangling in my ear all the time.
others like the jabra have features like caller id, a2dp, etc.

I have both Jabra BT8010 and i.Tech Clip D. I myself would recommend Jabra for using with Advantage.

I have a Jabra 8010 and now I like it. Initial results were poor but not because of the Jabra. The problems were regristery settings and I suspect they affected most blue tooth headsets.

i used this jabra and is very bad ..i throw it away and now i use nokia BH 900.and is very good on the athena.ok you dont have the dialing mode from this headset but you have the voice dialing and voice is very clean.

I tried the Jabra for a while and still use it for stereo, but for everyday use, I'm back to my BlueAnt V12. The V12 has vibrate feature and shows incoming numbers (not names). It is working well for me. Keeps a good connection, great range, voice dial works reliably. I can hear people and they can hear me. That's the main things I want.
IMHO, the Jabra is better in theory than in practice. Biggest deal breaker for me was that all audio seemed to go to the headset, with no audible alarms or ringtones. Since I only put it on when I need it, this wasn't so great for me. It you wear it 20/7 (allowing four hours for sleep) I think it would be OK.

I'm using the simple HTC M100.
Everything goes OK. Only problem I got is because I have beard and when touch the microphone of the M100 they hear terrible noise in the other end.
Two solutions: a) Peel my face or b) Change to other headset that avoid the problem.
The HTC M100 is cheap and reliable anyway.

You use regular headphones by the 3.5 headphone jack often? How is the sound qualty of the X7500? Ive heard its pretty bad but Ive also heard it depends on what player you use? How do you connect a BT headset and a regular pair of headphones at the same time? Ive read so much info about the X7500 now so Im a bit confused

nope, i hardly plug anything in the 3.5 jack of my u1000. my bluetooth is turned on like 24 hours a day =)
what i do is my itech r35 is bonded with my u1000. the setting is only for hands free...meaning when a call comes in i then answer it using the r35. i have another bt headset: jabra...and i forgot the model...but basically it's the same as the r35 (interchangeable headsets). that unit is bonded to my u1000 for music. i leave the jabra in my car as it's connected to the car stereo. so, whenever i'm in the car i can then listen to my soundz anytime. when a call comes through, the music pauses. i then answer the call using my r35.
when i'm not in the car, i can set the r35 for both handsfree and stereo....if i want to listen to my tunez that is.
even if you have a headset bonded to your unit, you can still plug in a 3.5mm jack headphone. what happens is the music will be played. if there's a call, it goes through your bonded headset. the music will simply pause...once your call is done the music resumes. unless you set your headset for hands free AND a2dp stereo, plugging in a 3.5mm headphone will not be a problem.
sound is not bad at all. i mean we're not talking about having bang and olfusen quality here =) but the soundz coming out of my r35 or the jabra are quite good. coupled with the car speakers, there you go. i use the regular media player and i've installed the skin with large keys for easy control.

My HTC is far more than simply a phone for me - it is an indispensable productivity component for my business. In particular, I'm addicted to Microsoft Voice Command - and use it heavily to announce my daily appointments and upcoming events. While the style-i seems quite compelling, I don't see it as a hands-free device. I need to look like a "knob" as I've trained myself to listen to announcements from my PDA such as "Meeting with Mr. Smith in 10 minutes" or "Mr. Smith calling on mobile" during face-to-face conversations while not going through all the fumbling, grabbing and excusing myself I would have to do without a hands free bluetooth device. For a busy person like me, the "whisper in the ear" aspect of hands free bluetooth is incredible - even if I do look like Lt. Uhura.
So, I need the following from my bluetooth device:
1) best sound possible
2) complete functionality with MS Voice Command
I have been using the Jawbone now for about two months and I am utterly, completely thrilled. Granted, it took some registry hacks to get the HTC to only accept voice input from the Jawbone and also to only output to the Jawbone (I am a user, not a developer) but it now works flawlessly. I cannot recommend it enough.
Many people complain that the buttons on the Jawbone are "mushy". I think the problem is that users simply take one of the stock earpieces and put on the Jawbone. I certainly did at first and found the volume too low, the Jawbone very uncomfortable and the buttons incredibly mushy. I then spent over an hour trying the different earpieces and earbuds provided, bending the earpiece I preferred until the earbud finally fit snugly and comfortably in my ear. Suddenly, the sound quality was fantastic (I had to turn down the volume - a first for me), I couldn't even feel the Jawbone and the buttons felt far more crisp.

I use it with a Sony Ericsson HBH 662. It has a small display for the number. I especially love the great sound. Works really well with voice dial. Even in the car.

I agree!! Style-i is fantastic... it does drop calls sometimes, but all you have to do is quickly go into Comm Manager, re-activate bluetooth and press the call button on the style I and you're back... takes seconds... and only happens to me once every couple of weeks if that!
It's crystal clear both ends, easy to use, and has a dial pad on the device! 9/10!

I just bought a Sennheiser VMX 100 bluetooth headset for use with my Dopod U1000. A very good one in term of audio quality on both ends.
The problem is that it keeps disconnected after several calls. Anybody knows how to fix this?

Just received my Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 Stereo Bluetooth Headset. It's being charged up right now. I'll let everyone know hows the sound quality tonight.

Sound: Great Clarity and rich Bass( Sounds like your in a car thats equipped with Sound System)
Range: Since it is Bluetooth Version 2.0 , it has better range than any other bluetooth headset Version 1.2. ( My previous Stereo Bluetooth by LG HBS-110 was V1.2. While listening to music, it got cut off when i went into another room, and came back on when it was in line of sight.) On the Sony Ericsson, it was cutting off a little bit but not completely off, and can go farther than like the LG)
so far thats with the Music portion. Still have to play around with it more to see whats great about it.

My only problems is i cant get the LCD display to show caller ID. This is important and i would like it to show the name of the person calling, or at least there phone ##. Is there a program i can download for this? or what do i have to do for this to work. (BTW Voice command works greaT!S

Did you get VC working with confirmations? No one else seems to have accomlished this. If you did , what is the trick?

I think Sony DR-BT Serie is better. Its more a Headset for Bluetooth MP3 Player. They have better DA-Converter inside. I use in the moment ... DR-BT50.

i've been using the Sony DR-BT10CX for the past few months and am very pleased with the sound quality i am receiving. i am having two major problems that i do not know how to fix:
1. every time i go to connect the headset to the phone, i have to go into the bluetooth settings, uncheck the boxes a) wireless stereo and b) headset, then save those changes. then i have to go back into the settings and re-check the boxes and save. - this is a nightmare of an issue, when the headset should simply connect automatically when turned on.
2. making calls is fine, but when a call is received it does not answer through the headset, but through the phone. pointless if you are driving for example...
if anyone knows how i can fix this, i'd love to hear a solution...

MBR-100 Sony/Ericson stereo receiver
I'm using the MBR-100 Sony/Ericson stereo receiver to stream music to me car stereo via 3.5mm input cable and to me earbuds when I am riding on my motorcycle. It connects quickly, sounds good and lasts about a week between charges. I only commute about an hour a day. I got it for $80 at Fry Electronics. I have seen a few of them ob ebay as well.

HT820 + Telus P3050 Touch
I have the Motorola HT820 on a Telus Touch P3050 Vogue and it is very good. I am pleased with my choice.

Sadly I must say stay away from the BlueAnt X5's...horrid sound quality. It seems that the sony's have good sound quality, at least as good as a wired buds that are included. The X5's are much worse. Less spatial seperation, more "muddy" sound, just not good.

Everything I've heard and read about the Jawbone BT headset says that it's a very high quality unit, with excellent noise reduction/cancellation properties. I'll be getting one when I save up some pennies. (10,000 pennies to go!)

i'm using the BlueAnt Z9 with the new 3.4 firmware update and, for me, it's loud and clear with the Vogue. i actually have to turn it down...i have not had any complaints from others when using the headset. when i purchased the Z9 it had the 3.0 firmware and the volume was very acceptable to me. also, the 3.0 firmware allowed you to control the volume with the phone. with the 3.4 firmware, all volume is controlled by the headset.

I have the black jawbone best bluetooth I have used thus far and I have tested quite a few. connects flawlesly and quickly as soon as you turn it on and the noise cancelation that the jawbone is famous for actualy works

I have an old wep150 (samsung) I got it for another phone about a year and a half ago. Its sounds worse on the vogue than it did on my motorola phones. I hope to get a nice stero headset for listening to music and calls. I'm glad to hear the sound quality is good for these devices.

I use the Jabra BT 5020 works awesome on my sprint (cdma) touch. Long life too.. I have always like the jabra products. You can also pair it with multiple devices. it has vibrate.

Just got the SE HBH-DS970 and it works pretty well. the call display only shows the number not the name unfortunetly. And My music tracks don't seem to show up on the screen. Any one else experience this?

I just got the new MOTOPURE H12 the other day and really like it. I got rid of the Jabra BT8010 because I felt like I had to yell into it. This new H12 is pricey at $129.00 but worth it because I am in the car alot. This thing is very small and very light. Has anybody got a bluetooth to work with Voice Command??! The closest I've gotten has been with the Blue Ant Z9, I manage a RadioShack, and we just started carrying that unit. It is small, lightweight, comfortable, and very good volume. Better than almost any Motorola bluetooth re: volume. The plantronics are good volume as well, but a bit bulkier. But the Blue Ant actually recognizes Voice Command! The problem, like most, is it doesn't recognize the confirmation.
Very Frustrating!
Anyone found a fix? I've tried some that profess to be the "true fix" but no luck.

Best BT stereo headset that WORKS well with diamond

Hi all
I have never used an phone has an mp3 player up untill the diamond i really dont know why... now my problem, i have been using the wire headset that comes with the package it works awfull i really hate the cord it keeps messing up all over.. the other problem whenever i want to skip a music i have to turn on the diamond and select the next song, i tought on buying that htc accessory that has controls on it, seems nice, but i believe then the cord becomes huge.. so i tought on a2dp ( never used it actually) so i wonder wich ones work well with the diamond i mean not having to turn on the diamond to go forward on the song list.
thanks for all the good work, the diamond is a great phone but if it wasnt for XDA it would be a great phone with some annoying flaws.

Sound quality much better than with TD-headset. Full bass, warm sound.

Plantronics Pulsar 590 has been around a couple of years, but still seems to be one of the best stereo BT headsets on the market. Better sound quality, a decent mic for voice and works well with the Diamond. I broke my first set and just ordered another.
The looks aren't too svelte but I prefer the over the head kind than the behind the head because I find them much more comfortable when exercising.

I've been using a Jabra bt320s - supports the profiles you need, fairly decent sound, and nice n small. Lasts a long time on a single charge too.
Nice thing about it is that you can connect any headphones you want, as it has a 3.5mm stereo jack. So you're not limited to wearing a giant headset, and can use them at the gym.

I use the Sony DR BT 10 CX Bluetooth.
Great sound (incredible base), lasts over 8 hours at full blast. And it has no delay, so you can even watch movies in sync with the audio.
if you want it even smaller and be able to choose your own earphones, look at this one: Sony Ericsson HBH-DS220. though it doesn't last as long and has a little delay

i am using both motorola s9 and sonorix obh-0110. both are working fine.

jabra 320s. auto connects brilliantly once paired.

Headphones with 750

What headphones do you guys use with your Treo 750?
At first, I just bought a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter and used any set of headphones but then became to cumbersome having to always unplug it to answer phone calls (especially in the cold).
So then I bought the Body Glove headphones with the 2.5mm jack but found out that only the right headphone works because the other signal is used for the mic! BUMMER!!!
So now, I'm to looking for another set of headphones that will work on the Treo 750. I want both right and left headphones to work and also have a working mic on it!
I might just get a bluetooth stereo headset and never have to worry about anything! But I just wanted to know what everyone else was using...

i bought a headset that had a 2.5 - 3.5 mm adapter and on the adapter itself was a button for switching b/w phone calls.
the other end was basically a jack for using any standard headphnes. so im some some sick in-ear ones taht have amazing bass (most of the regular phone headsets have sh!tty bass)
i would go w/ bluetooth but i dont know how much of a drain on battery they'd be. plus $$$.

Which headset/adapter is it?

im use old 2.5mm nokia's headset with handmade box>3.6 adapter with nokia's n73 headphones, quality normal, i listen music on max volume - bass on normal level and music are real stereo, im happy)
but i have one problem with headset - when phone rings, sound outs from headset and from phone, how turn off sound from phone when headset plugged in?

I use an adapter from 2.5 to 3.5 and use a Creative headphones in order to listen music, sound is very good, but have no microphone, I'm thinking to buy a 2.5 headphone w/ mic, in my opinion a good brand should be the correct option, maybe somebody could tell us their experience.

Bluetooth Car Kit

I'm looking for the latest/best Bluetooth kit that will allow me to stream Pandora and phone calls through my car speakers. I like the idea of the Motorola T505, but can't tell if there is something newer/better out there. I would prefer suggestions from people who know first hand about the pros and cons.

I've been using the Motorola T505 for a while and I love it, especially the amazing battery life! I found the same Sony Stereo on Amazon for about $149.

I believe this means it should handle calls just as well as streaming Music from your device.
The only thing that gets me about the T505 is when traveling, even with the auto-station finder, since it is an FM transmitter it can take a while to find a decent station to listen to your music. Around my own area I've already found the best stations and have them set as presets though so not a problem however it would be nice to get CD sound quality through the speakers instead of FM sound.

Yes, the Sony stereo handles calls very well. And as for the FM Transmitter on that T505 I can't say. The reason I went with the Jabta BT3030 before I got the Sony stereo was so I could use the line input instead of an FM transmitter. (I tried something with an FM Transmitter before with poor sound quality).
I wish I had seen that deal on Amazon!

I tried the line-in in my Mustang and the sound was horrible.

Nice setup with the stereo if you have only 1 car and you spend plenty of time in it.

I'm using a Jabra Cruiser speakerphone. Clips to the visor, transmits to the car radio and sounds good. Also it is supposed to announce caller name via access to the Inc's phonebook - Inc is supposed to have PBAP. This doesn't work however with the Jabra Cruiser. It will announce phone numbers only, not names of incoming caller.
