Can anyone recommend a slim coloured battery status bar that will sit at the very top of the screen and won't hog much system memory?
Thanks
Batti

It's small and fully customizeable, from the length and width of the line (I have mine set to be the very top row of pixels) to the colors. It's the best.
The latest version of WkTask has a battery guage at the top (so if you run WkTask as your task manager already, then really doesn't take extra memory). Then there is also an app called Battery Guage that you can download from freewareppc
Battery
I use Vistahide Battery Gauge. It puts a guage across the top of the screen. Copy it to your phone and put it in windows\startup
Hope I did this link right.

SPB Pocket Plus makes a battery icon where the clock goes in the taskbar. I really want that and I don't know how to get it!
He might mean the normal battery meter on newer WM6 builds...
Running late. Post later.
Cool. That batterymeter thing adds an icon to the taskbar, but what I am looking for is something that replaces the time reading on the taskbar with the battery icon that you get when you tap on the time.
Hello folks,
This is my first post, so please excuse my ineptitude/ignorance. I've been searching all day for a Cab that will show my battery level as a %age in the top bar of my new XDA Stellar. I've seen loads of screen shots on here of various customized today pages, many of which seem to have this snazzy little feature. They've even inspired me to download the HTC home plug-in, task manager and HTC home customizer and I'm now loving the new Non-O2 look of my Stellar. I'm yet to find that battery status indicator thoguh. Would someone please take pity on me and post a link before my head explodes. Thanks in advance.
- VistaHide BatteryGauge - Simple Battery meter, nice colors.
- SBSH iLauncher - Great Launcher, multiple tabs, battery meter on top.
- SPB PocketPlus - Another great Launcher, multiple tabs, battery meter on top.
- Batti - ((Thanks to _Alex_ )FYI, Batti eats batteries.)
- Ariel Battery Meter - Replace your Start Menu picture with a battery meter.
- QuickMenu - Really MUST have. Nice cascading Start Menu, and a nice battery meter.
Enough choice, isn't it?
All above apps are, (or can show) a battery meter on top of the screen.

FYI, Batti eats batteries. You should also check out QuickMenu too.

Thanks for that.
I never used Batti, just provided the link to this well known battery meter.
Added QuickMenu link
I personally like Areilbattery 2.
Wow, that was a quick response. Thank you so much. I'll have a play around with those suggestions.
EDIT: ArielBattery was pretty much exactly what I was after. Thanks again guys.
Battery Meter in taskbar?
My friend has an older WM5 device and he has a battery meter in the lower taskbar. Is there a plug in so I can achieve this and not have the HTCHome Plug in on my Tilt just for the battery meter?
Search for "Batti"
I personally like the Taskbar Battery Indicator on the Spb Pocket Plus 3.2 (look it up). The newer version doesn't seem to have it.
I've tried other sucha s the SBSH Launcher which integrates nicely with WM6 and SBSH Pocket Breeze...
Or you can use the Magic Button which provides a thin battery meter above the upper taskbar (besides other functions).

Yes it does.(I have Pocket Plus 4.0.2). jost press the stylus on any tab => hit options => Task battery indicator options => chouse the size of the indicator.
Vista Hide is Awesome
Just a personal thought. I have usd Vistahide for ome time, and it is very nice, small footprint and shows up nicely, And uses almost no resources on the phone.
What is the reg tweak to add the battery indicator on the taskbar? I know the one that replaces the clock with the battery, but I would like both icons to appear.
Thanks.
I know that SPB pocket plus 4 can do this, and there are a bunch of gradiented battery bars.
That said, i'm sure that there is a reg key but I do not know it.

thanks, that's exactly what i was looking for.. before you showed me this program i put the file "powertray.exe" in \windows\startup so i could get the icon on my taskbar; now that i have this battery program i want to delete the file. I'm not allowed to however because it is "still running.."
I assume the only way to delete a file from \windows\startup is to boot in safe mode. is there a key stroke configuration that you can do after a soft-reset? or do you have to install software? if it is the latter, is there freeware that can perform this task.. stable.
thanks.
an alternative is WKtask, also free, which includes the topbar batterygauge and the tabbed task manager, plus many other extras.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335085
not as colorful as the Molski, but WKtask covers 100% of the top bar versus Molski's 90%
EDIT:
Batti 2.4 was just released on 9/13/08. It's the best I've found.
Is there anyway to just change that without having to install a whole different rom? Thanks!
What do you mean?
I was wondering something similar (i think), that would put a percentage on the already existing battery meter. Much like the battery status app that you can download off the market.
Is that what you mean?
The battery would always be there. If you want something like a percentage then you would have to download an app from the market but the original battery will always be there.
He wants there to be a different battery color or design or something, am I correct? To find the answer to the question I would ask one of the many theme devs, they're the one's that would most likely know something about this.
You can change the battery icon in the status bar by editting the framework\res\drawable battery icons. There are only 7 of them tho, so putting in a percentage wouldn't really be feasible. You can do it, but the icons are set by the system to change only at certain intervals. They are:
100%
80%
60%
40%
20%
10%
0%
You can change the icons for each of the listed percentages. Or you could make it a written percentage in 20% increments.
the rom/theme I am using has the regular horizontal battery meter, but I like the round one and was wondering if there was any easy way of just changing that
Change the images in the framework\res\drawables.
Anyone know how to get the battery percentage to show in the battery icon in Froyo? Thanks.
moved to Q&A
cant happen until froyo source is out.
You can, but not perfect
I too wanted the percentage in the battery. In the development thread you'll see that the phoenrom has it included in the rom. I ended up making my own custom rom with the kitchen made by dsixda just to get that damn percentage in the battery icon! Its also not a very accurate measurer of percentage as it only works in percentages of 10(40,50,60etc). I still like it though.
Now that the source is out,
I tried to apply the bat. %, but failed.
I edited the xml to link to the pngs from 0 to 100.
I edited the PNGs.
Compilation warns me about bad pngs and when I reboot, the framework is totally messed up or even worst, as I unlock my phone, it just reboots...
Any help on how to do this?
I use Battery Widget (free). Takes up one icon space on your home screen (shows battery percentage in 1% increments), also allows quick toggling of Wifi/GPS/Bluetooth, and access to Screen settings.
