htc home page theme

hi this is my first post so please be gentle
i have just upgraded to the tytn 11 on orange and was very disappointed the fact it does not have the htc home page
is there any way only this could be added
and if so is there a dummy's guide on how to do it
help needed please

Well, there are a couple ways to go about this.
1. You can get rid of the entire built in software set, and flash a new ROM, like the stock HTC ROM. That will get you the stuff I think you were expecting. But that's not an easy thing to do. If you don't know what a ROM is or what flashing one is. I suggest you don't consider this idea.
or
2. you can try to install some of the stuff you expected piecemeal on top of your exisitng software. This works fine. It may not be the best way to go about it, but its certainly easier and safer. To do this, you can get alot of the software at this thread:

that is the stickied thread for "latest cabs". Cabs are installable programs. The one you most likely are lookign for is the HTC Home app. Its there. Download it, install it. There's also a configurator program that can be used also. Download and install that.

Probably a good idea...Also I just noticed the HTC Home Customizer isn't in that thread. It may have been removed since it's now got its own site. It's still free. You can download it fromhere:

I have the Orange TyTn ll and I have the HTC screen without having to flash the ROM. People have had problems when flashing the ROM's on Orange.
I am using the Kaiser_htc.home.v2.0.814.722.cab > Customisable home plug in found in the Collection of the Latest Cabs for kaisers Sticky post.
Without this site I would not have a clue about these things as I have only had mine for 10 days and its my first one!!

Kaiser new user - Merged 3 Questions...

hi all just a quick post i have just signed up on the HTC site when i type in my S/N number it is saying that there is no such S/N ihave tried to ring orange but they dont know what iam trying to do i just want to know if there is going to be a free upgrade to the phone to windows mobile 6.1 if not is there any other way of getting the update
any help would be great thanks in advance

Official versions of WM6.1 have not shipped yet. If you want an unofficial version, start with the stickies and the wiki found in my sig, to learn how to flash ROMs found in the development section.
If you have any additional questions, you should try to post in an existing thread.

FWIW, my ROMs are not 6.1

Make sure you don't use any of the ROM's with the name Alex in it. They don't have 3D video drivers. HEHE
Just kidding, none of them do.

Hi,
To start with click on the Gettings Started link in my Sig and read, all the information is there in verbose form.
But in short:
First you need to install HardSPL, this allows your phone to be flashed with a new ROM without it been bricked.
Once that is installed you can select and Flash your new ROM.
If the ROM you flash does not include a Radio then you may need to install a compatable radio. Click on the radios link in my sig and install a version to match your Windows Mobile Version.
If you have any problems with this post your problem in the relevant thread (all the threads are in the Getting Started Link in my sig).

Just as a matter of interest, why do you think you need a new Rom on your phone? Or, how do you even know that new Roms are available?
You've obviously read far enough to realise that the new Roms are both available and better, so why not read a bit more and answer your question yourself...

Why don't you contact your provider or HTC?

It's a long time since I visited this forum as I've moved on to other devices, however still love the HTC P3600 I started with and came back to see what's happening.

Can you try starting reading and reading the most ever readed and followed Thread for HTC CDMA Diamond "XDAndroid" development.

Actual roadmap is FRoyo but there is the first Alpha for Gingerbread (I tried GB but Keyboard is totally no functional by now).
You will need to read also this Thread as it is mention in the first Thread
because is the central repository for most of the files you will need to make
XDAndroid work in your CDMA HTC DIAMOND,
Note: For the LAST Roofts, initrd, zImage, module and System-ext2 THAT WORKS WITH HTC Diamond CDMA read the last post (it is mine in fact) because the lastest updates of Roofts doesn't work in HTC DIAMOND , but I have the hope it will works in next FroyoX07 release (NO clue when it will be release)
