Not trying to start 1000 threads related to TomTom on the phone, but there seems to be a reoccurring issue with people wanting to get TomTom working on their AT&T Tilt. A lot of people, including myself earlier today, were running into issues with most of the posted files working on the AT&T Tilt. We'd get the message about the ROM being needed to be upgraded. Well buried deep in one of the TomTom threads there was a post by d12ag0n49 pointing to http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JZI2MQES (rar archive with password elrincondedey) that seems to solve the problem for AT&T Tilt users.
I have also uploaded just the cab file onto rapidshare without a password at:
http://rapidshare.com/files/62623762/ttn_6_032_8351_HTCNLD.cab.html
This version appears to work just fine on the AT&T tilt. It does not come with any maps and does link to getting the one free map online (although link never loaded for me). Just simple add the cab file onto your Tilt and install away. You'll have a single voice to choose from without getting additional voices.
Hope this helps.
Steven
i hear you... but man niether one wants to work for me. i guess im sh** out of luck.
but a question. you say just put the cab file in the tilt.
now in laymans terms i need more! assuming i have not installed anything related to tt where would i install this cab file?
Using ActiveSync you need to copy over the .cab file onto your phone (or maybe you can just save it through your browser on the phone). Once you have got it on the phone, you need to use File Explorer to navigate to the directory you saved it in. Find it and run it and it should install after that. What problem are you getting?
This TomTom .cab installed fine, and now I'm configuring it. I haven't finished, but just wanted to pause and thank you for the Female Eva voice from the NETHERLANDS! Like I understand that!

LOL yea might be a bit difficult, but at least you can see what's going on, right? If someone wants to post up detailed instruction on changing the voices/languages please do!
lol geez i think im going to give up
ok via sync i have "explore" which opens the phone.
1 i have copied the whole file and tried also just the contents...no luck you click on files nothing
2 i have copied the file and tried also just the contents into "my mobile phone"...no luck you click on files nothing
its as if after i copy them into the phone the are useless
the closest i have came is with one of the downloads it came as a install wizard which would extract it. but the phone says i need to update rom.
lets say I have a bunch of maps. how do I installthem so tom tom can see them?
lets say you share those maps...ahaha jk
this is where i need to be. try installing that ver (above links) of tt and then i believe you can use tt home or manually install your self in the proper directory.
i just cant get tt itself to install AAARRRGGG
good luck

you're disconnecting your phone from activesync, then using file explorer on your phone to "click" on the cabs you copied over, right?

If you click on a .cab file in file explorer on your phone, it shouldn't "open" (as in let you see the various files within the .cab), it should simply start installing. Not sure what's going on with you.
For those looking for voices, just google free tomtom voices, there are multiple places to find them (and there are some available directly from TomTom). Once you find the ones you want, you just copy those files directly into the "voices" folder that TomTom created. For me, it's in the root of my storage card. For maps, it created a "My documents" folder on my storage card, and the maps are stored in there. Once you get the maps and voices saved in the locations it expects them to be, you just switch to that voice and map in "preferences" within TomTom.
Hate to gloat, but I got TomTom6 working on my Tilt and it works great. Forget the english voices, go for the Darth Vader one!
A quick google search for "tomtom voices" yields a ton of sites.
I'm looking for the HTC ACC Decoder from someone's Kaiser.
I tried to google it, but found nothing. I've checked the forums and nobody else seems to be getting the same error as me.
I downloaded "HTC Audio Manager 1_2_816716.cab" and attempted to install to my Wizard. It works, but gives an error message about the missing ACC Decoder. I'm assuming since nobody with the Kaiser is getting this message, it must be in your OS.
Can someone search their \Windows directory for the file? I don't know the name of it, but I'm guessing that "*acc*.dll" would be an appropriate search.
Many thanks if you can help.
Sorry for the bump, but I don't want this to get burried.
Anyone feel like checking their Kaiser for this file? It won't take more than 5 minutes.
Is it looking for an ACC or AAC decoder? I have an AAC_Reader.dll in my windows folder, nothing about ACC though.

It says "Can't load HTC ACC Decoder."
I may just need to reinstall using a cab from the Wizard forum, but I was looking for a version of Audio Manager that allows touch scrolling...
Thanks for looking anyway.
Hi guys I have to use PTT for work and for some gawdawful reason HTC made the PTT icon a little yellow smiley face when its on, no they could just make a button that said PTT or something they had to use a smiley face and just looking at the face angers me. I dug around and I found a "hidden" file in the windows directory called PTTService.dll I opened it, found the icon resource, created a new icon, imported it, saved it and when I tried to put it on my machine I got an error that I don't have permission to do that.
I've pretty much hit a wall, I thought I'd done the hard part but I guess not, anyone have ideas? I don't wanna screw with the ROM because its a company phone.
You'll need to disable the dialer skin, and the PTT service through the registry, and soft reset so that the dll isnt actively loaded in memory. then you'll need to sign your dll with a certificate like the sdk certs, and load that cert onto your phone, then overwrite it and set the ptt service and dialer skin to load, and you should be golden..
I bet I could figure out how to do the registry thing, but the cert part makes my brain explode!
The attached app will sign any .exe or .dll with the Windows Mobile SDK Certs (use SDKSamplePriv)
Then copy SDKSamplePrivDeveloper.cer to your device and run it like a cab.
The signing process will fail if the file is already signed, first you need to strip the signature.. it will also fail if readonly, the solution to that is obvious
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2508061 <--- that app will strip the signature
Sorry its been so long to revisit this post, but I had to give a intro to Fuze and Win Mobile to all our Corporate users who all just got them recently and I wanted mine to look and act like theirs until I gave that presentation.
So I finally created the icon to replace that horrid smiley face, I created it with Microangelo (I couldn't believe I still had that app after like 5 years) and used PEXplorer to open the .dll, its PTTService.dll actually, and edit the resource, then change the icon and it worked! I only changed the small icon one because that's the one I see. (32x32 8 bit)
So I got a trial (15 day) of MemMaid and turned off the services for PTT and Keypad and set them to Manual Start, restarted the Fuze and they were off.
I think from here I am almost golden, I just couldn't figure out the signing part, because after I overwrote the PTTService.dll on the device (it warned it was on ROM etc) and tried to use MemMaid to start the service and put it on Auto Start, upon reset only the Keypad was working and the PTT was on Auto Start but wouldn't start unless I did it manually, and when I replaced it back with the original it did Auto Start so I think I signed it wrong.
Heres what I did I downloaded that extracted the linked file (by Da_G), then I had a folder called Sign_msigner, I ran siggner.exe chose the PTTService.dll that I created and it appeared to work because I got a text doc saying:
"Warning: This file is signed, but not timestamped.
Succeeded"
so I replaced it, did the MemMaid thing and it wouldn't Auto Start, so I though Oh I forgot to do that certificate thing, so I coped the SDKSamplePrivDeveloper.cer from the Tools folder onto the Fuze, ran it, and that worked because I had a certificate in my certificates area of the Fuze (was only good until 12/31/08 it says) and tried it again and still no luck, can you guys give me some more great advice, I'm so close!!
It sounds like you did everything right, check the "Certificates" menu under settings to make sure the certificate you signed it with did load..
When a .dll is loaded as a driver (in HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn) signing it via this process won't work because those drivers are loaded before the certificate store is vetted.. but I don't think PTTService.dll loads there..
I didn't see anything in there except under the Intermediate tab and it says issues by: TEST USE ONLY - Sample Privileged Root.... expires: 12/31/09
I think that's in there tho because I ran that SDKSamplePrivDeveloper.cer on the Fuze myself (or is that what i was supposed to do), I don't think it started when it tried to load the PTTService.dll
I attached the dll, is there a way to check it?
Also there's 2 files in the tools folder called signcode.exe and signtool.exe, I didn't use these for anything, should I have.
Looks good, not sure why its not loading.
Might need to tool with the security settings, check this post for a good read on the subject:

Hi guys,
For those with time changing / switching / problem using Garmin mobile XT, here is a nice workaround.
Evolving from Garmin iQue to Mobile XT was never having my phone clock on time again. Every time I used XT I had to check if my phone clock and date was ok.
I was tired of trying every single Garming XT version with diferents Kaiser ROM's and nothing was solved. So I developed a tiny .net console application that wraps Garmin execution and monitors time changing, restoring original time in case of change.
My TyTnII is running WM 6.1
Rom: Hyperdragon III
Radio: 1.65.24.36
3.sj.hd.03
25.94.40.06h
Garmin XT Version 5.00.20wp
Installation and use:
Compact Framework 3.5 may be needed if it is not installed.
Download the attached file.
Copy all 3 files from zip in any directory.
i.e. "\Storage Card\Program Files\GarminXTClockFix\"
This app need the location of your "Que.exe" file as a parameter. So you may modify the original "Garmin Mobile XT.lnk" in your "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" folder to target GarminXTClockFix.exe. Or you can create another one.
i.e. 30#"\Storage Card\Program Files\GarminXTClockFix\GarminXTClockFix.exe" \Garmin\Que.exe
(I included my .lnk file too, just in case)
From now on, you have to run Garmin from the modified shortcut
And that's all, I know that this is not THE final solution, but I hope it can be useful just as it was for me.
Please feel free of giving some comments here and any kind of feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers.
Diego
UPDATE: deleted mediafire link and uploaded an attached file.
Thanks
Hi Diego,
Thank you for your post, It’s has been very helpful. I hope you can post other solution.
Regards from ARGENTINA,
JuanMatias81
I have determined that the time change problem occurs if GarminXT does not quickly get satellite lock. Apparently there is an undocumented feature that sets the device time from the GPS signal, but if it does not get a lock, it sets it to midnight GMT.
My solution is to prime the GPS with the BAF GPS Toggle today plugin before starting GarminXT.

Fixed!!
I fixed mine!!!!
Just went into Start>Settings>Personal Tab>Phone>Time Zones Tab, and Un-Checked the "Auto change time zone and clock" box.
There is no problem for me because in my country (Costa Rica) we don't have time change due to change of season, it's always the same.
I don't know why MS put this option there. I think that the place it corresponds is in Time Settings or Regional Settings, but in Phone Options???
Still don't know why Garmin XT is the only one program that does this thing.
No more clock/date changes for me!!!
I hope this can solve the problem of many of you, since there isn't a reasonable solution yet.

Unluckily my clock settings were the first things that I've tested, with no solution for me.
I've just updated my solution, with a minor fix regarding problems with time zones like Caracas -4.30 or Teheran +3.30
Hi Diego!
I tried your method but I'm not able to run it. For sure I'm doing something wrong.
My phone is an iPAQ 910c, Windows 6.1 in Spanish w/ CF 3.5 Installed.
I moved the .lnk file you attached in the zip into Start Menu/Programs and tried to run it with no success.
Also, the name of the exe from Garmin is QuePPC.exe.
If you can please explain me the following step you added, will be highly appreciated, since I'm not sure on what to do here
"This app need the location of your "Que.exe" file as a parameter. So you may modify the original "Garmin Mobile XT.lnk" in your "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" folder to target GarminXTClockFix.exe. Or you can create another one.

Hi there, maybe we have different Garmin XT version, but I think it wont be any problem.
This little program needs as a parameter the location for your QuePPC.exe
So, before trying to run the "GarminXTClockFix.exe" you have to modify the .lnk that you've copied.
Tell me where you copied the GarminXTClockFix.exe and the full path of your QuePPC.exe so I can assist you.
Hi! The version I have is 5.00.20wp, which I believe is the latest.
The path I placed your software is inside of the Garmin folder:
\\\Garmin\
I'm sorry for misleading you. I was looking previously at the files in the SD card, used for the installation. The software is installed in the phone itself, not the SD. In there, I found the Que.exe file. That queppc.exe I mentioned can also be used to execute the program from the SD.
The Garmin folder includes Que.exe and Garmin Mobile XT.exe. Both also execute the software.
Now I got this error when running GarminXTClockFix.exe, the phone shows this 4-color symbol meaning it's processing something but then just disappears executing nothing.
Any idea on what could be wrong?
Thanks in advance for your time!
Hi Diego! Would you please tell me how to use it? I'm still struggling with it...
Thanks a lot!

Hi! sorry for the late reply, I was on holidays
First of all, I have to mention that this partial solution is not working 100% properly for me. Meaning that my kaiser system clock is still changing from time to time Next weekend Im gonna give a try the latest WinMo 6.5.
Saying that, the error that you mention is simply because you are trying to run a 2nd instance of Garmin XT, when that happens try looking in your active application manager (ie task manager lite) and "bring to front" the existing garmin xt instance of the software.
But if you weren´t able to run at first time, you may check your .lnk file where is looking for your garmin original .exe file.
If you are still having problems, attach here the .lnk file that you are using so I can help you solving this.

Hi ppl.
About a year ago I bough a Uniden portable GPS unit. Pretty nice machine, plays music, vids, pictures, has an SD slot (for GPS software and Multimedia) and most importantly it runs Windows CE (not sure which version).
Seeing as it's kind of out of date, but still a fully functional machine, I want to see what I can do on the software side.
It runs Windows CE which means I should, at least in theory, be able to install other apps, right?
After investigating the machine a bit, including a tear-down, the only thing I can come up with is by using the SD card to load in a File explorer of some kind to give me access to the devices file system.
All the apps seem to be hard-coded into the GPS unit itself, except the GPS Software. It's using Igo 2006, the EXE file is on the SD card, which is where you used to download the updates for it. Without the EXE file on the card, the device is essentially a cheesy looking multimedia player and the Navigation function of the unit is greyed out.
I'm a bit of a noob at this, so, so far all i've tried is putting Total Commanders EXE and other files on the SD card, and renaming the EXE to MobileNavigator.EXE. The navigation function is then selectable, but once clicked, it does nothing more than grey out the Navigation function again.
Anyone have any ideas / suggestions as to how I can gain access to the file system? I've got a wicked in-car DVD player that handles everything, so I'm not afraid to take out the multimedia functions of the GPS and leave it as a purely GPS device, as well as I'd like to be able to load in different GPS softwares which are available online.
Try creating a folder on the storage card called 2577, and rename the Total Commander EXE to autorun.exe, and then place autorun.exe in 2577 (you might also want to try putting the other Total Commander files in that folder too). Also, make sure you're using the Total Commander for Windows CE, not Windows Mobile. Hopefully that should give you more access into the system, and the ability to install programs. This site might also be of some help. If this doesn't work, try creating another folder called 1824, and do the same.
Thanks Dave, had a go at that and checked out the attached information, however nothing happened.
I have found out that this device, a Uniden GNS8360, is using WinCE 4.2.
Another guy was successful in gaining access to the file system in an older model, the GNS8350, even though I've also tried his method, I stlil don't have access. I won't bother posting an outside link, however his method involved using a program called dTree, renamed as the MobileNavigator.EXE file, and attempted to boot that from the devices menu.
Any other help would be appreciated
Some Success!
I have successfully been able to load a relatively OLD version of Total Commander onto the device, it has now replaced the totally boring "Pairs" game.
Next step is to find some way to enable the on-screen keyboard, it's settings are there in control panel, but can't do much else without it.
Once again any suggestions will be investigated and appreciated

Sweet I'll have to have a look around, i've found the latest 2009 maps for the stock software (igo 2006 plus) gonna see if I can tweak them into it, but now that I have access to the file system I can launch more'n one navigation program so that'd be awesome, off to google i go (no pun intended)
There also seem to be some "warezed" versions of igo 2008, I've noticed some apps designed for later WinMo/WinCE versions won't install, but if I run them thru Cab2OEM to extract their files, put them on the SD Card, some of them will actually launch and run on the older CE4.2. This certainly seems to be a decent little hand-held PC - Would be great if I could find a way to flash something like WinMo 5 or 6.1 onto it I'll dig out the system spec's and see if there's anything useful in it.
You also might want to check out http://www.hpcfactor.com and http://hpcmonex.net (run by XDA's cmonex). I have an old NEC MobilePro 900C, which runs Windows CE .NET 4.2, and those are probably the best Windows CE sites on the Internet, the former better for tutorials and the latter for utilities and downloads. They contain the latest versions of Pocket Internet Explorer, the latest Opera Mobile Betas that still work on Windows CE, Bochs for PPC, TCPMP, and many more. Also, you might want to check out Gigabar. It's a free Windows CE taskbar program which I think might restore taskbar/start menu fuctionality.
