Does anyone knows how to clear Call Duration? I mean from Settings, Device Information, Call Duration. I have got Incoming: and Outgoing: Can I clear these values so I can know exactly how much I use every month?
For monthly usage tracking purpose, it's better to use Phone->History->Tools->Call timers...
thanks. I will look into that.

Hey, does neone know how to incoporate how many minutes/text msg's used in an app ?
Thanks
just go get T-Mobile My Account in the Market
No
No i mean there was this app call meter...it recorded how many minutes u have talked ...but it read from phone..so itwasnt like the day u get the app the counter starts...
i am very interested in that app too..
or a similar app to battery status (for WM) that calculates the outgoing minutes and seconds to the second and also can have a minimum time in every call calculated (e.g. if you talk 5secs and you have minimum 30sec charged in every call it can calculate that)..
please help!
Yes, T-Mobile's "My Account" in the market shows how many minutes you've used to your account.
You can use the program Self Help for more percise calculations, like notifications. Also, I'm not sure if it exists anymore, because I just did a search for it and I didn't find anything, but a program called "Phone Meter" or "Phone Status" (something along those lines) can show, based on your call logs, how often you call any given person, minutes spent, and graphs everything out. Neat app, if you find it.
On every single smartphone I got I was hoping this kind of application would pop up.
Is it possible, on Android, to record incoming calls?
Then it would be possible to make a voicemail application that would be usefull.
I'd remove the provider-voicemail feature, and let my phone handle the pickup-calls.
This way it is possible to view, save, store or, maybe most important, delete any voicemailmessages in a application on your phone. You could export them to your pc, mail them to yourself etc, since they are all stored on the phone.
Would be a killer app and, for business users, I think a dev can really make some nice money on it
Why not just use Google Voice. Seems alot easier to me, less processors any storage intensive and accomplishes just about everything you're looking for.
EDIT: Just saw you're in the Netherlands. Sorry.
Yep.
I don't think it is going to get here. Besides, GSM-calls will be around for some time, and businesswise I'd like to keep my current number.
Is it technically possible ? Look, in the end we will all be VOIP-ing. And even when going on voip based calls, the user interface and the biggest part of the program would still be usable, only the grabbing of the files would be easier
There has been threads about this already. Please use search.
Hi:
I am looking for an app to filter calls. I would like to allow only certain numbers, and block or silence the rest. All the apps I have found do the opposite, they block only the numbers you ask them to, and it would be very impractical to have to add all numbers except for the 2 I want to allow.
The latest one I tried was call filter, which was great, and easy to use, but the same as the others, you could only block individual numbers, rather than allow only specific numbers.
Thanks!
You can use Tasker to do that. I had a Tasker profile that ran at night when my phone was on silent. It would ring only if calls came in from my children or my parents. You could use the same type of profile but have it active all the time.
Tasker is more complicated than your typical android app. But there are example profiles that you can download and modify.

Hi Redger:
Thanks so much for your reply. I downloaded and installed tasker. You are right, it is complicated. I installed the sample profiles for Auto Sleep Mode with Exceptions (sounds like what you mentioned).
I made it as far as adding the numbers I do want to ring. I am wondering is there any way to activate it manually (maybe a one click home screen type thing), rather than right now it is set to start automatically at a certain time?
Basically what I would like to do, is have only 2 phone numbers able to reach me (for both voice and sms calls) while I am sleeping, and all other numbers to be completely silenced.. I don't really want it to start and stop at a certain time, because my bedtime varies greatly from one day to the next.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks again!

Click to collapse
You can put a shortcut on the screen to tasker, and it will open to the tasks. Click on the real to turn off. 2 clicks I know.
I think the tasker forums can tell you how to make the task into a "program" like you want.
Edit. Try long pressing on the screen and go to task. It might be there.
Download the generic toggle widget. You can put the widget on your home screen and program it to toggle your sleep mode profile. Remove the time constraints from the sleep profile and set it up to work with the toggle widget.

I'm looking for a wearable-gizmo plus app system which can accomplish a specific task: when worn, automatically check the wearer's pulse every so often (eg, at least once per hour); and if no pulse is detected, send an alert message (eg, via SMS).
Elsewhere, someone suggested I look into Tasker, and the %HEART variable seems ideal for this; and from what I can tell so far, it looks like Tasker can send SMSes. ... Have I found the software I'm looking for?
And if so - do you know which hardware I'd need, so that Tasker could run these checks and send the messages?
(A wrist-gizmo battery life of at least 24 hours seems a minimal requirement. I'm open to watches that contain Android phones, watches that connect to Android phones, watches imported from China, and more. Funds for hardware are somewhat limited, so if this could be accomplished with a $20 gizmo instead of a $200 one, that would be nice.)
Thank you for your time.
So, I found the setting that reads to me who is calling.
So, for instance if Jesse Pinkman calls me, my phone will say "Jesse Pinkman" and then ring.
If it is not in my contact list, it will read the number.
But it only does it once.
I remember on some of my older phones, it would actually say who was calling, you would get the ring, say who was calling, get the ring, and repeat until VM picks up or I pick up.
I am looking for a way to do this again. If not available, is there an APP that will do this?
The reason I am doing this is because I have bluetooth on my helmet, and when I am riding I only want to pick up for certain callers.
On my phone, it is found under
Settings >> Accessibility>> Screen Reader>> Settings >>Read caller ID aloud
I simply did a search for "aloud" in Settings.
For anyone still looking for an answer: Samsung has made it difficult (on Oreo) to enable the function without the accessibility settings that call out every action you do. It has been integrated well in Pie under call settings. However, if you don't like Pie, like me, there's only one app that I found to actually do it very well. Its called Who's Calling. Get it from PlayStore. I have tested more than 20 apps and nothing does it better. I haven't even seen a single ad from it. Hope this saves someone time.
Cheers
