On a different thread I have been looking for a fix for a voice instruction problem where the voice 'cuts-off' before the end of the command.
I get 'After 200 yards...' but no more, when the command should be 'After 200 yards, turn left'.
So, I re-flashed my device (which was a Vodafone v1615, with Vodafone ROM) to the standard HTC ROM, and re-installed TomTom.
Same problem!
So, my question now is, how many other Kaiser users with TomTom suffer the same problem?
I'm really beginning to think this is an issue with the version of TomTom with internal GPS...
Any others have comments on this?
I have the same with my TomTom and every rom for Kaiser so I think it's the TT version. Doesn't make any difference if the voice is installed on device or microSD card.

I 've tried with Tomtom V6.00, 6.03 but I have the same problem.
My ppc phone is LG KS20 on WM6
+++ Important note: I used TT V6.00 with my old HTC S110 running on WM2003SE and I don't have this problem. But when I changed to KG KS20 (wm6), I get this probleme with the same maps, same version of tomtom (same installation: tt6ifalleni.cab). Tested with 2 maps v675.1409: FR_plus & Western_Europe -> same voice problem.

I've read a couple threads where people complain about the voice not completing,and they indicated that the fix for them, if I remember correctly, was moving the voices to the main memory from the SD card.

That was a post from me when I thought it had fixed the problem - it didn't, although it seemed to work for a while - hence the post...
Still looking for the fix!
Oh, and everything is legit - as supplied with the CD that came with the device, and the small 'town' map your area able to download for free.
Used to use a Qtek 9100 - with no problems!

All my voices are in the SD card. I tried also to put them in phone memory (/navigator/voices) and had always this problem. Voices are selected in TomTom but not completing !!!
Have now tried an older version of TomTom (6.030), and still have the same problem.
Also placed map and Navigator all in device memory, and still same problem...
What the %*!$ is going on???
How many other people are suffering this? Does no one have any other ideas I can try?
i had this problem too
i deleted these files, MapSettings.cfg, TMCCODES.DAT, TRAFFIC.DAT, TRAFFIC.INC (where u place ur map). then i reset tomtom back to default setting. and i still have same problems, then after 2 or 3 uses of tomtom in two days. Now it's back to normal. I use TT6.030.8320.

TT6.01 is working perfectly for me, but i have problem recieving call while using TomTom. that's right, i switch to 6.03.
hi all. i am running TT 6.030 on my unbranded kaiser with no flaws whatsoever. the internal gps works a treat. its not the most legit copy going, anyone browsing mininova.org could find it. i have all the voices installed to the sd card, however i have never used any of the "supplied" voices. i use the john cleese voice which i also "found"
no tomtom voice problems with me either, and i also place my voice files in the sd card. as for the voice type, i use a knight rider one . you can find many more of these custom voices here

Same voice cut-off problem on my At&T Tilt using TT Version 6.032 (8351)
Had to use that TT version because I could not install previous versions onto the device. That was the only version that would load.
Are any of the people that don't have the cut-off voice issues using an AT&T-branded device?

for me, yeah, becuz i tried everything (all the tomtom version), but make sure u backup ur original file first, then u open start tomtom, tomtom will automatically create the new files for u.
I am running TT 6.032 and having no problems at all with the John Cleese voice. I did notice there were some problems with a few other voices I tried....Sean Connery, Naughty Natalie etc in that they would be cut off as they are taking too long and the instruction has passed due to speed and position...
I really don't believe it has anything to do with your ROM version.

Same problems. TomTom Version 6.032, Map Western Europe v.675.1409. Original TyTN II. All legal. I saved the files you mentioned on my desktop. Restarted TomTom and so far it recreated the MapSettings.cfg and the traffic.inc. Not the traffic.dat or the tmccodes.dat though. Will use it tomorrow and see if it works again. Thanx for the help.
I have managed to get tomtom to work on my diamond without a problem, but mapfactor pocket navigator 7 doesnt.
any ideas why that would be as it worked fine on my Touch Cruise.

I had the same problem and i ahve been told that it's a driver problem that can be fixed if you overwrite a certain file in the Navigator directory. The file i was told is As TaskSched.dll but I did try that and nothing happened. I hope someone gives us a solution to this

Well I'm using Tomtom 6, l'm not a big fan of it, the maps are quite bland and boring.
What are other GPS softwares that have decent maps that work with the touch diamond? I'm quite pissed Igo8 has issues..
I am using CoPilot 7, I got it with my Orbit 2 a while ago, Its ok, easy to use, POI Searches can be a bit annoying but and the routing isn't as good as the tom tom I don't think but it still gets you from A-B.

Garmin Mobile XT. Very happy with it.
MapKing R12. GPS is just a toy for me, so it doesn't really matter. As long as it's working, it will be fine.

I have to say it's the same for me. It's actually funny because I have Garmin XT on the Diamond and I have Garmin in my car and both use the same map file so it's a bit overkill. Only used GPS once since I got the phone and that was to try it out of curiousity

I installed the Garmin Xt on the the Diamond but it keeps searching for a Blue Tooth GPS. Is there some settings I need to do to get it to recognise the internal GPS and Vice versa. Thanks in advance

Never used Destinator 7 or Garmin XT - are these good? better than TomTom? Worthwhile checking out?
I released TomTom allows you to "Navigate to" and you can choose a contacts address - handy since I have addresses for most my contacts - it would take ages to store them into favourites.

for me maps for GMXT is more complete and updated than the one in Mapking..

Also using TomTom 6. Received my Diamond yesterday, I came from a Kaiser device.
But the screen draw is very very slow comparing to the Kaiser. Perhaps because of the VGA screen, don't know.
Also the directions and pointer are runnig about a second slower than the Kaiser (it's running 10 mtr behind my car).
Hopefully there will be a TomTom 7 and hopefully that will run smoother, I'm a very big fan of TomTom.
Friend of mine has a VGA HP PDA with Tomtom 6. Screen redraws are terribly slow. I have same version of Tomtom on my Prophet (QVGA) and it runs very smoothly. Think its down to the number of pixels.
I'm using Navigon 6.2 with europe map.
I always used to install and use iGo, but iGo 2006 and iGo 8 don't work with the Diamond

You need to config settings in Garmin. to cable GPS, and then point to correct COM (in my case COM4)
Just got my diamond and I can't seem to get tomtom6 in landscape mode. The tiltfunction doesn't work in the todayscreen or tomtom itself so I guess I'll have to find a rotate cab or get used to the standard mode.
Using Sygic McGuider.
Very impressed by it, good for TomTom users, nice screen on diamond, works like a charm and newer maps !!

Any workaround for this? The menu is terrible slow also, seems like other problem than pixels. Map-building takes ages, loading maps etc.

Use Mortscript to start TomTom with a script file. Before starting TomTom use command Rotate (90).
Anyone has tried TomTom Navigator with the raphael?
How did u success?
I've installed it once, but had some problems that made it kinda useless, very bad gps lag and the signal level indicator was missing (IE. saying no signal).
EDIT: First post in this area, yay
TomTom installed just fine and worked fine yesterday, but now it can't find any satelite signals. I had the same problem on the Tilt. Guess I am giving up on TomTom.

Yes I'm using TomTom almost every day to/from work and it works just fine. TomTom had a major update a few weeks ago and after the update it works perfect. I bought the map-version on their website and had some struggle to install it on my phone, but after activate my SD-micro card like TomTom explained on their support site, it works just fine. It has fix on at least 5 satellites in less than 30 sec every time. But it's important to have a radio that gives you that the possibilities to have just that. There is good information to find the best radio in Raphael WiKi forum. TomTom has included traffic information as well, so I use any suggestion in order to avoid blocked streets.

What version is it? I'm still using one the binary I found here in the forums as I thought there wasn't an official one working yet. (i.e. you have to use application binaries from phones with it preinstalled.)
Mine works fine as well though, but it's always nice to go "official" when you have bought the maps anyway....

After I added the tweaks for TT (mentioned on XDA) TT works much better. Better responce and accuracy. (on MDA Compact IV original T-mobile NL rom)

Mind to show us the way to that tweak? Mine TT7 on my CDMA TP works just fine (it finds satellite quite quickly) but there is some noticible lags.

Thanks GVR! Seems like that solved the lagging problem on my CDMA TP! Now TT7 is much faster in terms of updating my location.
And that was my only issue with the GPS here, I was able to get a fix with 9 satellites INSIDE a highrise in downtown in less then 5 seconds.
Awesome! I'm going to save that and hope someone can create a cab for those edits.

I mean I have installed TOMTOM all fine but it shows me that maps are not supported by this device
Can some one help me and point me in the right direction on how to install these maps ?

After a major update true TomTom Home 2.4 I've got version 7.910 (9185). That is the official version and I'm using maps for western and central Europe bought from TomTom. I started with the TomTom CAB application found here in the forum, since there wasn't any to download. But last week the program (CAB) in my HTC TP was updated automatically using Home 2.4. Even my maps are now automatically update once TomTom relizes updates.
I have a signed CAB version in my PC and HTC TP from TomTom now, that came with the update, but I do not know if it can be used by others. Maybe it is signed to be used only with my TomTom maps?
The CAB file is named navcore_7.910.9185_TT_SIGNED.htc_raphael.CAB
I will not upload anything until someone tells me wheter I am aloud to do so and that it will not be a violation in this forum.

I have installed Tom Tom 7.450.9028 with Latest USA & CANADA maps. It is working very nice for me. Better locking times. great resolution.

I installed TT7 and ran a test 2 days ago. The result was GPS show me 500 ft ahead

Hi, I wasted an entire weekend trying to get TT VERSION 7 to work. I have downloaded TT_Nav_7.450.9028_repack3-vga-black and I have a Southern_Africa_v7.20.1862 map.
After installation, TT goes through the process of choosing lang, speaker etc.It then asks me to download a free map, Southern Africa is not located in the list.
Can somebody please please assist and tell me what I am doing wrong and How can I activate the Southern_Africa_v7.20.1862 map.
Is there a way where I can just use the Southern_Africa_v7.20.1862 map and not download any others? Another issue, How do I activate my GPS unit?

you have to place your Southern Afrika map in the folder My Documents @ your memory card, otherwise Tomtom will not see the the map
Hello guys;
I am trying to connect my Xperia and TomTom Home together in order to buy(!)/download/install new maps+updates and use Map Share.
Unfurtunately, I did not have any luck yet: TT-Home keeps waiting for connection and does not recognize any TomTom device.
Could someone point me to the right direction?
Do I need some special Home version (mine is 2.4 from the tomtom's website)?
Does TT need to be installed in some special way (mine is the very latest 7.910, installed as cab from the card's 2577 folder to main memory)?

You don't need Tom Tom Home. When you startup TomTom on your phone and there is no map it will automatically ask you to download a "city" map to test the features or buy a map. At least that happened on mine
I haven't managed to get tomtom home 2.* to work either, but tomtom 1.6 works fine, you can download that from the tomtom home page

You can download 1 free city map but it won't let you buy any more - message states that this is not available in your region (yet)

no, I definitively need it. I want to buy/download/use/update big maps and also use Map Share. It is impossible without TomTom Home.

Thanks a lot but I think that TomTom HOME 1.6 for NAVIGATOR 6 only (and does not support Map Share), and I'm trying NAVIGATOR 7 which is only supported by 2.4.
HTC owners with pre-installed TomTom 7 are able to use it with TomTom Home -- I want it too! Therefore I'm asking if someone already got this connection.

I don;t know if it may help, but I have a touch diamond (and soon getting the x1) but tt home worked for me. Have you tried to hook up your device as diskdrive rather than in active sync mode? It worked for me that way with tt home
hi, I had tomtom home 2.6 detecting x1 ok and installing mapshare updates. but since Ive flashed to the uk r3a rom, tomtom home cannot detect any device "No device connected".
Ive tried changing the usb to pc settings.
I notice in system, settings, device information , my memory card id and card version only has little squares instead of a number or whatever is should be?
Ive flashed to touch-it v9 (r3a) and still no device connected.

I´m fishing up this thread to see if anyone has come up with a solution/can give me an idea where to continue searching for an answer. As previous posters it worked perfectly with TTN7 and TTHome2.7 (yes a legit bought version) but since I´ve flashed the latest official firmware from SonyEricsson and TTH won´t detect my device. The X1 is not hardspl as it seems that r3a firmware is the problem.
Any ideas since TTH unfortunately wont update TTMobile of a memorycard it has to detect the phone. I´ve tried all setting regarding connection I can find both on the phone and on the PC, even tried XP, Vista & W7.
I´m reluctant to downgrade the rom back as I fins the r3a to be a lot quicker but if that is what it takes...

I think its a deliberate move by TomTom as they want TomTom 7 to be exclusive to certain phones. What their reasoning is I dont know, but as stated previously, TOMTOM home 1.6 although more primitive does seem work with the tomtom 7 software. you can download updates and install stuff like new voices and maps, but I dont think it has mapsharing.
This exclusivity BS has been annoying me and even though I paid for the maps I am thinking of changing my GPS software to Garmin or something.

That should not be the case as my version of TT7 is bought separately on DVD and as stated on the package "Requirements: Any PocketPC running Windows Mobile 5 or above". I have not downloaded any of the hacked versions laying around.
Well if its offical then maybe the tomtom customer support can help you. ive just looked at the aussie site and all they appear to be doing there is providing software and support for the iphone. no mention of winmo at all.
I decided to downgrade the Xperia ROM to R2A and live with it, TT Home is working again.

What are the differences between r2a and r3a
so it seems to me, that the diference between the old rom and the new is, that there is a change in the rom that says tthome that the x1 is the kovsky.
so has anyone an idea, where the information of the tpye of the experia is stored on the rom r2a and what has changed that r3a doesn work with tomtom home (i have a legal sd card, that does not work with my phone because it says incompatible device. i just copied all data form the sd card to another card without the tt7 software. then i downloaded an tt7 software and installed it on my x1, since i have a legal one an the support din't help me with a patch and tomtom din't give me my money back)
today i 've seen that x1 is now on the list, so i would be glad if someone can help me to run my tomtom software with the newest rom, since tomtom support doesn'T help me)
