kaiser unlocking - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

just a heads up for people wanting to unlock their kaiser, steer clear from these jokers http://www.gsmliberty.net, paypalled them $39.99 on the 13th Dec and still no unlock code submitted to me. Their response on the 13th was, "Your unlock code is processing. It will be sent to you today." The website advertises instant unlocking, i think not.
what a load of bull, wasted my money.
Anyone else had problems with these comedians?
Anyone recommend a decent company who can unlock my kaiser on t mobile?

Do you live in the US or elsewhere? and your trying to unlock to use on Tmobile, or are currently using on Tmobile?

ebay
a canadian unlocker with thousands of feedbacks can do it for $14

im in the uk the handset is a t mobile handset and my sim is vodafone

I used these guys, and ended up doing a chat session with them. You will need to download a program then send them the output. I got the code like an hour later to unlock. Their automated e-mail system does not tell you to download the program. Hope this helps.

yes i got the program and then uploaded the file to their server, but they still havent got back to me with the physical unlock code and this was four days ago when i uploaded the file

Entering the unlock code from AT&T

To anyone who can help me,
I am aware that to recieve the unlock code from AT&T all one has to do is call them up, say you are traveling oversees, and then give them your IMEI number and then you recieve the code. I am wondering, however, if it is possible to enter that number in the phone if it isnt registered or has a plan. What i would like to do is buy this phone, walk out the doors of AT&T and then call them up, unlock the code and insert my SIM, without having to make a plan for the phone with them.
-Thanks to anyone who can provide useful information
Go to the att coperate store, not authorized dealer; buy the tilt at full price. Call them right there and ask for the subsidy unlock code. Normally, the rep will require a fax of the receipt which shows that you pay at full price if you're not att subcriber.
In the worst case, there are some solutions for you:
1, Return the tilt within 30 days and get your full money back.
2. Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361039 to get it unlock by yourself.
BTW, do you really want to buy the phone which is set for "end of life" in December?
Thank you for the information. I was not aware that the tilt would be coming to an end. What would you recomend that would have the... Live TV, WIFI, and other features such as the tilt?

End of Life? Where are you getting that from? Can you post a link with info please
I just got one and used this thread to unlock it myself. Hell with talking to ATT, thats an endless loop that takes like 5 calls and alot of patience.

I would probably unlock the phone myself, but due to the fact that i am not as tech savy i would not want to risk it. Also if you unlock it yourself, doesnt it re-lock with updates, where as the ATT unlock, unlocks it for good.
Everyone was noob at sometimes. It's not hard as you may think. Furthermore, if you can't get it unlock yourself AND att doesn't give out the unlock code then return it and get your full money back within a month. Good deal?
No. Tilt is not a PC so you don't have to worry that it will be re-locked when you upgrade

It simply means att will stop selling Tilt after December 2008.
An att rep I talked with when I called to ask about the Fuze (aka Touch PRO) whom was confirmed this info, too. You can also go to Raphael box in this board and search for Fuze.

OK, noob question....
Is a PUK code the "unlock code" we are talking about here?
The PUK Code for AT&T Customers is available from the AT&T website. Seems like if this is the code, it saves a lot phone calls and pain to just go to the website and get the code.
If this is the code you need to unlock the phone, then I'll post instructions to get to the proper page on the AT&T site.

Nope. A PUK code is required when your SIM card becomes blocked on the network. The most common cause of this is someone activating a PIN code on their SIM, and then either forgetting the code, or entering it incorrectly 3 times. The SIM is then locked (for security purposes) and AT&T will give you a PUK code to unlock it once they verify you are the account holder.
do a search you can unlock it here online by dowloading and flashing a couple things

'Cannot find a code for your Phone/IMEI' - O2 UK PAYG

Hi, I have a strange issue. I've tried unlocking my PAYG O2 HD7 on both www.htcimeiunlock.com and www.unlock-now.com and both don't seem to be able to find the IMEI in their database. The message is "Unfortunately we cannot find a code for your Phone/IMEI!". I am certain I am selecting the correct 'UK' and 'O2' settings and have tried typing the IMEI a number of times.
Is anyone aware if this issue is because it's brand new and it resolves itself, or does it mean the phone can never be unlocked?
Thanks for any help
If everything is correct, that is very odd.
Just checked the 4 IMEI's of the HD7's I have here and all work fine
Thanks risq, just to see what would happen I tried altering the IMEI code on the www.htcimeiunlock.com and it said "invalid IMEI". So it seems the IMEI I am typing in is 'valid'.
I've seen a few threads on other sites about this with no viable solution, except contacting the Mobile Operator. FYI here they are: thread1, thread 2 and thread 3.
Called O2 and Customer Services rep said she has filled out a form for it to be unlocked (I wonder if it's the same as this form). Did not ask for money for it. Apparently will be done in 7 days. To say I am dubious it will be done is an understatement! She didn't even know that 'HTC' was a phone manufacturer.

this is bad news
I am in same boat
I have requested with unlock-now.com
they have taken my money so I am waiting
HTC update their databases frequently and the unlock providers have to re-sync.
Note that the unlock code is NOT calculated from the IMEI. Its simply a database lookup
hopefully this will not take too long

This is what I am hoping! www.htcimeiunlock.com says 'can take 2 days'. Which would be ok.
Hopefully you'll get it sorted.
Like I say, it gives me the option for unlock codes on all my handsets with the IMEI Code on the box, selecting united Kingdom and O2 as the operator.
You did check the option hadn't automatically changed on the drop-down. I had that happen a few times which was annoying.
I thought the code was generated by the IMEI, otherwise it would be the same code for each phone would it not?

in the old days unlock codes were formulae based on IMEI number. this was notorious with early nokias which could mostly be unlocked for free
no longer
its simply a lookup on the HTC database

bought mine online

as all the shops are out near me (in central london) I presume their next batch will be the same as online
i also bought online ..and i could not get a unlockcode.. if u get a unlock code please update here
Got mine online on PAYG on O2 and unlocked no problem over the weekend. Make sure you use the 15-digit IMEI number on the box and NOT the 17-digit it gives you when checking from the phone. The last two digits relate to the operator and should not be used.
i used the code without turning on the mobile, just from the box.

Btw don't you get a message telling you to use the first 15 digits if you enter 17 on htcimeiunlock?

Hi Guys, a quick update, following the above quote O2 sent me the unlock PIN for free after 24 hours of calling them. I believe I have been quite lucky, the subject of the email includes details from the support ticket and clearly says "Pay Monthly" even though I am a PAYG customer.
Just in case you want to try this instead of waiting for the 3rd party unlockers to update their database my tip is, I called without my 'new' PAYG mobile number to hand, so she found my account via the order number instead. There is a chance this is why the request for unlocking assumed it was a contract phone not a PAYG phone.
For once I'm impressed with O2 support
What did u ask? & How did they filled up a form to unlock even though u r on a PAY&GO?

If you got your Phone through O2 in the UK, just call them, they don't usually charge for unlocking. Tell them you need to put a work sim in it and it a different provider.
+1 for htcimeiunlock.com
On the site they let you put in your info including carrier, model, and IMEI. They then tell you if they have the unlock code, and if so and how much it costs and how long it will take.
In my case it said 15 minutes and $25. I paid with paypal and about 15 minutes later the unlock code arrived in email. The code worked and my phone is now unlocked.
I will use them in the future.
Worked for me
used the link above and it just worked (no issues, Just be sure you provide the correct IMEI or you may have a problem) use IMEI from the device not your box (I have seen issues where they do not always match).
Cheers

I used the site above but it says it can't find a code when I input my IMEI.

Will that website provide an unlock code for ANY hd7 that's locked to tmobile? because i'm thinking of getting one to canada and i wont be able to return it so i have to make sure that it can be unlocked!!
I bought mine from a nice guy through Kijiji in Toronto... HTC HD7 (T-Mobile branded) and he even had unlock code. If you post an ad there, I'm sure he'll respond. Make sure you put it in the "want to buy" section and make sure the subject line has HTC HD7 Unlock Code Wanted. It's the least I can do to send you to him as he was very fast and effecient and affordable.

I used www.cellunlocker.net on both my HD7's. codes arrived in about 25-30 mins and only cost 19.99

I just bought a t-mobile branded HD7 from a store in California and have failed on both sites to get an unlock code. Keeps telling me the IMEI code is not recognized. This is a little worrying as I plan to be going back to the UK soon. Also frustrating as others on t mobile seem to have been having success.
Might be able to get it here:

maybe tmous is trying to keep the phone locked down. If you got in on contract I don't think tmous will give it to you till you have had the phone 60 days. You could call them and tell them you are going overseas on business so you need the sim unlocked for overseas use. That is what I did with my hd2 before I sold it.
Guess I'm the only one with an un-unlockable HD7 in the world. I tried 3 different legit unlock companies and all failed. I called HTC and they said the carrier locks it. I called T-Mobile and spent 2 hours on the phone discussing everything from having to get a temporary pay-as-you-go plan to having to wait 40 days for an unlock code. Now they say if I fax them the receipt they could have it the next day at best.
This would be great except like some of you I bought mine on Kijiji and I doubt I can get a receipt from the seller.
Anyone want to buy my un-unlockable HD7?

[Q] AT&T Carrier Unlock Process

I'm going to be travelling to Thailand from the US on Saturday and would like to know if anyone has been successful with calling AT&T and having them give you the carrier unlock code for the Vivid? I'm a long time AT&T wireless customer (since Cingular e.g. 2002ish) and not sure if that helps also?
I just want to be able to have access to data while in Thailand and won't be making any calls so was thinking I could just get a local prepaid sim card to get data the week I'm there. Make sense or is there something else I should do?
All thoughts are welcome!
You can get your Unlock code off of your ATT account. Login to ATT, mouse over "My ATT", then mouse over "Wiress", then click phone/device. The next page it pulls up will be info for your device. You will see a "Unblock Sim" link, click it and it will give you your unlock code and instructions.
Thanks for the info. But where do you enter the puk code. I type it in the dialer and it just dials a number.
* nevermind google does wonders. I need another company's sim to bring up the option.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
That wont allow you to use a different carrier's sim in your Vivid. Its just to unblock your sim if its been locked. To unlock your phone to use on a different carrier you either have to call AT&T or pay to have it done online.

I need the phone unlocked, not the sim card. I want to use a carrier in Thailand other than AT&T. I guess I'll suck it up and give AT&T a call to see if they're giving unlock codes for the Vivid yet.
Please post your results from the call. I would like to know if you have any success and what needs to be done.
As jayv81 found out through google, you need another company's sim in order to use the unlock code from ATT. Why is that because your phone is sim locked. Whatever sim you get in Thailand will not work until you go through the unlock process. This process should allow your phone to work in Thailand, verify with ATT though. I had an old Nokia 6230 from Cingular days that I used in Turkey with multiple carriers after I unlocked it using this process.
I called AT&T and they won't provide an unlock code because the phone is still "exclusive" to them. Think I may try one of the websites out there to see if they can generate an unlock code for me. Probably worth $5 or so to give it a shot.
This is probably the most reliable place to unlock it but its a bit more expensive. I went to the site and its on special for about $17 right now.

After a bit of digging around I have a few questions/suggestions -
1 - Did you buy the phone off contract, or with a new line or upgrade discount? If you bought the phone off contract at full price, you have some more pull.
2 - I saw a post on another forum where someone had this issue with previous devices, and the front line rep he spoke with assured him this couldn't be done, but then he asked to speak with Int'l Support, and they were able to do it for him in minutes
3 - Also suggested was to speak with a supervisor and request that a case be opened. Once a case is open with the Case Team, they're more likely to provide you with the unlock code
This is not from personal experience, just some suggestions I've found. As always in these situations, it's best to stay calm and collected, while being assertive at the same time. Screaming and yelling at helpless reps get us nowhere..
Just use ebay 5$ quick and essey most use swiftunlocks and are reliable
I just used this $4.00 service and it literally took 9 minutes for the order to be processed and the unlock code to be sent to me.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNLOCK-CODE-For-ATT-HTC-Vivid-Not-Found-IMEI-starting-35629804-/320850117920
They have an online process which is fully automated so it makes this a lot faster.
Oh ya, and the code worked fine with my AT&T VIVID. I have a German SIM card for my business travels and once I put it in my phone it asked for the unlock code. I punched it in and VOILA, it gave me a positive response and said it needed to reboot to complete the process. After the reboot the German SIM card was active in the phone.
Usually, you can unlock your phone six months after you bought your phone.
But I'm not very sure for them can let you go earlier or not. or do they have a temper code for you to unlock your phone.
you can try it, but if you have already bought it for six months, you can unlock it without any questions.

Unlockable Atrix HD??

Ugggg.... I've checked and although there is talk of help with unlocking, I don't see this specifically, so forgive if I missed it....
I did my first post a week or so ago when I had just bought a MyTouch that my son got to and, well, we ended up ordering a digitizer and spending hours trying to fix that one (the glue was CRAZY!).... Well, that didn't work.
I bought an Atrix HD off craigslist, yes locked. I love it, but now have tried two unlock companies and neither could come up with a code. AT&T can't tell me why (or so they say) that they say it's "unlockable".....
So, am I two for two - with another phone that I can't use or am I missing something.
Thanks so much - I really want to use this phone.

Recently, I bought a Motorola Flipout for my mom, and I have to admit that I am a Motofan and I bought more than 30 Motorolas in the past 2 years, ranging from 15 dollar to 425 dollars, all Androids. But this Flipout gave me some problems...
It was carrier locked to ATT, I'm using Telcel GSM, so I just bought the unlock code and put it on the phone like all the Androids I had, I tought it's was going to be easy, but I was wrong.
The first seller told me he didn't found the code, so i was refunded my 3.99, then the second seller told me the same, refunded me 7.99, I was like crazy, how no one can found the code for this now obsolete and old 2.1 phone?
I found this site: Cellunlocker.net and I bought the code from there, it cost me 7.99 dollar, and after 12 hours they gave me 2 codes, they didn't work, I was like crazy, how can even be possible I can't get an unlock code for this? In the same site, there's an extra option called "Manufacturer / Code Not Found" method. It's the most expensive than the carrier method, but it's more effective, the code for the Flipout with this method cost me 32.99 but it was valid. I recommend you this site if the ebay sellers can't find the unlock code for your Atrix, only you need paypal.

I have used two unlock companies. Both come back saying they can't produce a code and at&T says it is was manufactured as "an unlockable device", which sounds strange to me.....
I don't know the personal "history" of the phone other than it's relatively new - obviously... but have no idea about "developer" editions or anything like that..... Is it possible that a phone was "made unlockable"??
I use TMobile and it is locked to AT&T **************

Don't worry, I use this phone on T-Mobile. It is unlockable. I too had two other companies fail to find the code and have to issue me a refund. I also spent a LONG time on the phone with AT&T who eventually said they couldn't unlock it because it was such a new model and they "reserved the right to keep it locked for up to a year". But the third company I tried, americanunlocker.com finally got me my unlock code and it worked fine. I'm now rockin T-Mobile's $30 plan on my AT&T Atrix HD. The unlock only cost me $15.

You Rock.....It took 5 days of "calculating unlock code" from AMERICAN UNLOCKERS..... but THEY DID IT!!!!
So definitely worth the $14.99!!! especially after 2 others who couldn't do it and 2 phone calls to AT &T where they were telling me it was unlockable for unknown reasons the first time and "would never be unlockable" on the second try!!!
THANKS SO MUCH!

Is everyone else getting a 5-day turnaround time from American Unlocker? I bought the code last Friday, and it's now Wednesday and they still haven't sent me the code. I'm starting to get worried since they said it would take 1-3 days.
It's been 10 days now since I placed my order with American Unlocker. Still no unlock code, and no reply to my messages via email, the fake "Live support" window, posts on their Facebok page, and messages to their Facebook profile. They don't pick up the phone either.
I finally got the code from American Unlocker, and it worked. They took their sweet time, but they delivered
