Kaiser Splash Screen Repository [Pictures & Files]

Splash Screen (Boot) File Repository.
I Thought I would start a thread for the splash screens that people are using or those that people have designed for others.
Essentials for creating the splash screens are:
An art program to create the picture that you want, please make sure that your image is 240x320 pixels 24bit colour depth and save it as a .bmp
Follow the instructions in this post by pof (not exactly clear on the HTC rom tool section, just pick anything for the fields in the program and load the correct splash.nbh file by clicking the ... to the right of the splash1 field)
Here are a couple of pictures of some splash screens to get started with.

Put one of these files in the same directory as KaiserCustomRUUv1 and then run the program it will ask you questions make sure you answer yes to them all and then patch the phone. Once done it will automatically reboot your phone and show you the new splash screen.

Please make sure you edit your original post to add more pictures & files to save having lots of pages per person.

Is this for the first screen where it says 'smart mobility' or is for the animated HTC screen? If the latter, how do you make (which format) & upload an animated one?

I have no idea on the animated one but I am only guessing when I say that its the smart mobility one at the very beginning when you power on the phone on.
As for the animated one if it is the windows start-up then that is a 320x320 pixel 24 bit .png file called welcomehead.96.png on my T-Mobile UK phone so I would suggest starting there in your search for replacing the animated one (if its a .gif then you are ok).

I like the easy way.
Just make your picture 240x320, save as welcomehead.96.png and copy to \windows\ on the Kaiser.

I've always liked this one, it goes well with the Stock ROM's HTC logo when booting into Black. I believe that the welcomehead png's need to be 320 x320 to cover things when booting in landscape. These welcomehead splashes are so easy to just drop into the windows directory, no rom burning needed, getting the original file's read only attribute turned off is the only hurdle. I used resco file explorer to do it.

Due to the limitation of 4 images per post I guess we are going to have to make more posts per person.
Here are a couple of windows based ones I made. I actually have the carbon one on mine at the moment and it looks alot better on the device.
The animated gif does not work on my t-mobile even adding the registry key of hklm/software/htc/startupanimation/giffile and pointing it to the relevant named file so I guess thats only for those who have changed their roms (unless your on t-mobile rom and its working please correct me if i'm wrong)

I did as you sugested but it does not work, I created a new file put it in the windows directory, now i have two files there by the same name, I try to delete the original one but i get an error its a ROM file can not be deleted, and when I start my device the original still boots up instead of the new one, any sugestions to do it the easy way ?

You can't have two file with the same name so something must be different (unless the 2nd one has a (2). I found that I had to use resco file explorer to change the original welcomehead file's attributes and remove the "read-only" flag. Then I was able to copy over it with my own splash .png files.
Also the welcomehead files "should" be 320x320 to give you a correct image if booting in landscape but I never boot this way and I imagine others don't either.

welcomehead.96 read only
I got Resco File Explorer, I went to the windows directory and changed welcomehead.96.png to read only, but it doesn't stick. It immediately reverts back to read only. So, I can't copy the new file in.

copy the new file from your PC to the 'My Document' folder on the Tilt. Then on Tilt, copy (or move) the file from the "MY Docs" folder to the \windows directory. You get a prompt ot overwrite, say yes to that, then you will get a second warning about the file being replaced is a ROM file, say OK to this too....

Been looking for a version of the old Audiomanager for ages but in the end gave up and have modified it myself.
This is if anyone else misses it...
I've only tested on my Diamond using Bepe's ROM so please use at your own risk.

Install the cab to your storage card and then install the "update-to-vga" cab to the same folder. This way you will have this version plus the new TF3D version.

Fuller Instructions:
(1) Install the HTC_Audiomanager cab to your Internal Storage card!
(2) Install the second cab ("Update-to-vga") to teh SAME FOLDER
Please be careful not to copy to your main Windows folder!
If, when starting audio manager you see "Load RC fail" in the titlebar and nothing happens...
try renaming audiomanager.exe.0409.mui (again in the windows folder on the card) to audiomanager.exe.0407.mui

I've tested it again on mine with no problems - what error message or problems do you get?

Doesn't work on bepe's bElite ROM either.
The top bar shows the "Load RC fail" message for half a second and that's all.

And i use original ROM
And doesnt get any error at all.

It works now after I have renamed the audiomanager.exe.0409.mui file
0409 probably only works on WWE ROMs
But there is another problem: The audiomanager only uses a quarter of the screen, the rest is black.

Strange, I'm running it on Bepe's ROM with nothing else on it...

Hi, now you need to copy all the files in the Images folder in my zip file to the Windows folder on your Internal card (where you installed Audiomanager).
Just replace teh existing ones.
This will make the resolution work fine in VGA...

I renamed the ...0409.mui file to 0407.mui because I have the german version of bepe's rom. It should work for you without renaming.

Hi, I think you need to do step (2):
(1) Install the HTC_Audiomanager cab to your Internal Storage card
(2) Copy the contents of Images (not the folder itself) to the Windows directory on your *** Internal Storage Card ***
(you will want to Overwrite existing files)
Please be careful not to copy to your main Windows folder!
If, when starting audio manager you see "Load RC fail" in the titlebar and nothing happens...
rename audiomanager.exe.0409.mui (again in the windows folder on the card) to audiomanager.exe.0407.mui
Use at your own risk.

Still wont work after renaming the file.

I performed step 2 first so the installation has overwritten the files. Now it works fine.

Hi, Just type HTC Audiomanager into Google and you'll find hunderds of screenshots.
I suspect if you don't remember it from your last phoen you probably won't want it...
It's a step back for those of us who dislike the new TF3D version.

PLENTY of us dislike the forced usage of a crappy TF#D combined with an old school WMP.
Can you confirm when installing this older version ,it over writes WMP as main player and that AVRCP and A2DP support is working for Bluetooth devices?
Meaning, if you use a bluetooth stereo headset with A2DP control on a Diamond, it only links to Windows Media Player and I (we) hope it will now start-up the known fluent functionality from HTC (old) Audiomanager?

Don't have any BT devices I'm afraid but suspect they will work as this is merely the complete player from the Kaiser.
I simply re-edited the screen xml and pngs and included them in a folder so that it works in VGA format.
As installed on the Internal Card is is NOT a default player but runs additionally to teh newer version.
I suspect default player setting is a reg key somewhere...

i have been using dark rom for a while, so far great, except that i couldn't figure out how to do mms.
anyway i was going through initflashfiles.dat for which i have few querries
1..

i couldn't find these jpg in my picture folder or anywhere
2.

Directory("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories"):-File("Total Commander.lnk","\Windows\Total Commander.lnk")
is there total commander in this rom
3.

i couldn' find wmstorage in this rom also

so it means:
1: i can remove these codes form the file
or:
2: i can add the programs ( but still not understanding how to put new programs in dump folder)

well yes you can remove them..becareful though
to add the files..i explained you earlier
place all the files in the dump folder except the option.xml and in the initflashfiles.txt
discard the option.xml and open the initflashfiles with a text file and copy its contents..then paste it in the MAIN (which u get before compiling ) initflashfile and ur done
again, BE SURE TO REMOVE THE 2 EXTRA BYTES ADDED BY NOTEPAD, which are FF and FE

Hi jirrah, for cooking the rom, you have to use OEM packages, you have a very useful list made by Ather at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333359

ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING. Whatever you do make sure the ROM has at least 0001 bytes of free space or it will never work
can you please explain this, how we can find about this thing.

At the end of the option "Re-assemble my new ROM" you will get that info.

well unfortunately there has been no soulution for that..if u get a weird Build OS error at the Last step..it means that the ROM is filled..

jirrah, maybe ather can explain how to use the IBE, I use the tools provided at the "C:\ather\Himalaya Kitchen\Hex Edit" folder to edit my initflashfiles.dat.txt.
I've copied a initflashfiles.dat.txt file to "C:\ather\Himalaya Kitchen\Hex Edit" folder. I always make my changes in this file, and at the end (save and close) I run a new batch file (in the same folder) with this code:

some oem packages contain dll files, rgu, dsm without an initflashfiles.
as far i understand i hve to copy all dll, rgu,dsm in dump folder .. even the dsm or rgu are of 0 bytes...
rgu contain the registry keys setup for that dll..
then we have to process the HKCU and HKLM in the kitchen...
But when i open the HKCU and HKLM those rgu enteries are not added up.... or the add up later,, i even checked after reassembling...
am i doing something wrong.

nono..no refrence needed in initflashfiles file for this..the initflashfile file only holds the shortcuts

alright....
what about dsm files, do i need to put them in dump even they are of 0 bytes...(in dump of your rom, i dont see dsm files)
and in RGU where should i import when i am processing HKCU or in HKLM, as many RGU have HKLM enteries while others have HKCU enteries...

the DSM are useless for this kitchen..but are useful for others (if they want to extract the packages using PKGTool by Bepe)
as for the RGU's its better export in both, HKCU and HKLM..but i think one would be enough ...you can always try and tell us

[THE] TF3D Fire Icons (Update 25th Nov - Call History & Calender support)

hey folks,
after some long waiting, here is the long promised fire theme
i also revisited the landscape icons to make them even better and match the new theme

I Uploaded 2 more zip files
"Fire v2.1 (Calendar & Call History included).zip"
The same as the original version, however it included Calender and Call History
"All Files in 1 folder.zip"
This file ONLY contains the required system files. Everything is in 1 folder so that you can install it faster. Please read the "Read me.txt" included.

PLEASE READ ALL MY NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING!
Instructions:
1. Download my file and unzip it on your Storage Card on your mobile
2. Disable TF3D (Settings-Today)
3. Open Total Commander and navigate to the extracted folder
4. Right click on the manila file that you want to use (you can use the ctl button on Total Commander for multiple selection). Do NOT copy the whole folder containing the manila files; copy ONLY the manila files instead!!!!!! For extra information on the way i organized the zip file check Note 2
5. Click on copy/move. Then select the Windows directory on your phone & overwrite if prompted (Caution: your storage card might also have a windows folder. You need to select the one on your phone!)
6. Re-enable TF3D[/B].
7. Soft reset (only if it is not working yet)
8. Installing the volume control icon
(Volume bars from Prewien..I modified the colours to my needs )
Move the bmp file with Total Commander to the windows directory of your phone and then reboot
9. Red Selection in phone dial
Use a registry editor and navigate to HKLM-Software-HTC-Phone and change "highlightcolour" to 861600 in hex mode
Notes:
1. Landscape mode will NOT work on the Diamond by default (only if its modded to do so. Do not ask me how to do it, i have no idea)
2. Folder Content: The zip file contains separate folders each of which includes the files for a different mod. So for example, the folder "Fire Slider" ONLY includes the files required for the slider to work. you ONLY need to copy the manila files. I included the PNG icons in the zip just in case someone wants to mess around with them.
3. In case the icons don't work, use Diamond TF3D config-->Appearance-->Restore Default and then follow my steps.

I felt the irony when making that icon too
the reason for choosing that was that it was the only weather icon that i could find that did not look cartoony
i will see if i can find more during the weekend

yes there is..here are some ways
1. Backup the manila files that you want to replace. If you want the stock theme you can always use the same procedure to copy the backup files to windows
2. Delete the manila files that were in the zip file from the windows directory..manila files are by default stored on your ROM. Deleting them from your windows directory will result to the ROM restoring the original file automatically
3. Use Diamond TF3D Config and click on restore default theme. Essentially this does the same as 2 but then quicker and automatically for you

Comm Manager & Audio Settings
Hi, really nice Theme. Are there icons for COMM MANAGER & AUDIO SETTINGS, too? On my phone these two tab icons are grey (default).

I have two questions:
1. What is total commander and how do I use it to get the firetheme on my phone?
2. Where is the windows directory on my phone? (sorry i'm really a noob at this stuff...)

ok i encountered another problem...my phone doesn't have the folder windows that I see in your screenshot.

Do you have a file for the Sprint TV icon? It's the only one that is still grey when it's not selected, but when Sprint TV is hightlighted it does show the fire icon.

If you don't have Total Commander, then you're going to have problems using it, aren't you, lol? Try searching for Ghisler's Total Commander. It's not hard to find. File Explorer won't work (hence, the instructions, lol).

[Q] how to hide the NFC icon [kk]?

Anyway its always on "ON" state all the time.. I dont want it to waste place for that..
Any idea how to hide it?

Open a buildprop editior and change the value of ro.nfc.icon.enable to false. You need root for that

You need to be rooted and edit your build.prop. An easy way to do this is with Build Prop Editor.
You need to find the entry -
ro.nfc.icon.enable
Change the value from true to false, then reboot.

Nice idea! but some what it didn't work for me.
It was already on false when I first saw it.
I tried to 'true' it and re'false', tried to change every one there except the first but nothing worked (I restarted each time ofc, I've played with build.prop many times before)

hmm i have a bit HARD way for that but im sure you can do it!
take systemUI.apk from system/priv-app or system/app
then rename it to SystemUI.zip then extract it in empty folder
then open folder called "res"
you will find alot of folders! open them ONE BY ONE and delete every NFC icon you find!
after you finish deleting all NFC icons go back to the place you extracted SystemUI.zip
select all the files and folders and compress them (put them in zip file) and select store compressing mode
after you finish rename the zip to SystemUI.apk ( the upper case letters keep them upper case!!)
download zipsigner app
install it and open it!
click CHOOSE IN/OUT button! and select the place the you put the new SystemUI.apk and select it
click the sign the file button
when finish open your file manager and go to the same folder you have SystemUI.apk
you will find apk file with the same name with extra SIGNED text!
rename it to SystemUI.apk and move to system/app or system/priv-app and REPLACE the old one then set the permissions to rw-r-r
reboot and enjoy it!
ps. i didnt tried it for sure but i found the icons inside the apk
BACKUP THE ORIGINAL SYSTEMUI.APK BEFORE TRY!!!!!!!

I feel like an hero after proccessing this and succussing.
I didn't completely followed your guide because the saying of "search every NFC icon and delete it" gave me a red light that this might be bad..
after done I can say that the only needed files for deleting are
stat_sys_nfc_forum.png and they are in 3 places:
SystemUI\res\drawable-hdpi
SystemUI\res\drawable-xhdpi
SystemUI\res\drawable-xxhdpi
Trying to zip it / unzip it apk it and sign it didn't work.
After renaming it once the file is ruined and can't use it anymore no matter signing or not.. (I probably didn't do it right but I couldn't do it that way..)
So what I did was copying the apk file to PC, opening it with winrar and deleting the files through it without changing the apk extension.
After that I sent back to phone and went to system/priv-apk folder, renamed the original systemUI.apk to .BAK (so I won't lose it)
and copied the edited 1 to there.
set permission to:
owner: read+write
Group: read+wrote
others: read
only this way it works, don't know what rw-r-r means but putting owner: r,w and others only read didn't work.
(I simply watched the premission on the original and did the same for the modified)
reboot and bam! it works!
