senior member - Off-topic

so how many posts do you need for senior member? 100 or more

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351401

your getting very close to that benchmark...

there will b a day when all of us will b senior members.

in a perfect world we would all be senior members no mods or even admins (this is just an attempt to reach the big 100)

Is Junior Member Good?

i was wondering is member better than Junior member? XP
it just refers to how many posts you have
but you have 96 posts and ur a member...
you have 96 posts and ur a member i only have 5 and im a junior...xP
i have some more.....
hahaha.
What do you want to be when you grow Up?
uhhh
Random questions!?!?!?!?!?!
Junior member is the lowest i think, (correct me if i'm wrong), then member, then senior member, then moderator (something that you have to get from site administrator, not posts), and lastly Administrator (the creater/owner of the site). Basically its ranking based on how many posts you have. (excluding moderator, and admin)
just keep on posting!
you're all a bunch of post whores. and i'll be damned if i'm gonna miss out on the action. here's to superfluously raising my postcount!

ARGH HOW DO I EDIT THE POLL?\
hate this......
I am really sorry people...
It seems like I just screwed this thing up :'(

mine's Stylez
Well stylez! I know that svetius isn't a mod but he is just awesome.
Members who have been appointed to moderator status are not financially (or otherwise) compensated for these extra duties. They were appointed because of their dedication to the ethos of XDA. All moderators do the best that they can to assist fellow XDA members - some are more seasoned than others.
These types of threads & polls do not foster a sense of community; instead, they encourage rivalry (members VS mods) and innevitably end-up tarnishing the reputation of members. Although I am certain this was not the intention of the poll, I closing it and this thread.

Mafia - The forum game

This will be my first post here in the OT section so let me make it a good one.
This is a forum game. This means anyone can join, well not really anyone since there will be a limit of 10 contestants per session of Mafia. To sign-up, you simply need to reply to this thread saying that you want to join.
There will be 4 roles: The nurse, the detective, the townspeople and the mafia. I will be the one who will decide on the roles of each participant.
The nurse has the power to heal or to revive someone they might think is dead or will be dead. The nurse can revive his or herself.
The detective will make a guess on which of the participants is a member of the mafia and then I will tell them whether they're right or wrong.
The townspeople will be a group of people that may be 3-4 people. I ask one member of the townspeople who they think should be hanged because that person is a member of the mafia. I will tell them the detective's guess but I will not tell them wheter the detective's guess is right or wrong.
The mafia is a group that consists of 3-4 members. The mafia will get to know who the other members of the mafia are. They will then decide on who to kill among the rest of the participants.
All converstaions between me and the participants will be done through PM so that the game will have a sense of suspense.

Discussion about thread posting or forum moderation on XDA?

Hi there,
Is there any channel on the forum that enables member to discuss about the thread posting or moderation?
Or shall members keep it in private with moderators?
It is a pity that personal judgement weighed over rules.
[CLOSED] Question on thread posting
Hi there, I firstly posted two questions in the original thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-other-directory-than-platform-tools.4536847/ Question 1: would it be possible to adb pull partition (ex. userdata) to any other location than...
forum.xda-developers.com
Please refer to the relevant rules of the forum.
Thanks in advance.

Hello @wenyendev
I'm surprised about your above questions as I think I'd already clearly provided you with the answers in my announcement in your closed thread that you've linked. However, as a non-native English tongue I don't want to rule out that my English skills are too weak to have expressed it well enough. In case of further questions, feel free to contact me or @TNSMANI like I've already suggested in the linked thread by private message (PM).

I can assure you that all moderators know the rules of this private website very well and that all have the capability to assess, which rules are relevant in a specific case.
And I'm grateful that you share your personal assessment "that personal judgement weighed over rules." I like to refine that statement that any moderator's assessment and judgement is always based on and driven by the forum rules. If you've any doubts about this and don't want to contact the respective moderator by PM, you can always complain at any Senior Moderator of your desire (names available here) or at the @Moderator Committee.

Hi Oswald Boelcke,
Thanks for your clarification and following me.
I said "personal judgement" simply because no rules were explicitly cited for the closure of my two threads, for example, whether members shall discuss about thread moderation in the forum or contact moderators in PM.
Thanks for your consideration.

@wenyendev I appriciate your explanation and now understand better.
Different then e.g. the laws and rules in my country and society, the rules of this private website, which were implemented by the owners of the website, are indeed not written just black or white. The rules - at the same time guidance for the website's user - are supposed to be easily readable i.e. in a limited scale with "only" 16 paragraphs and not intended to provide for all contingencies. For this reason, every moderator is happy willing to close related gaps and to explain his decision if asked by a private message. None of us moderators would deny such a request with the argument that XDA is a private website and the XDA staff doesn't owe any user a justification.
And please allow me a private remark as somebody who looks back onto already nearly 67 years of life: It's quite often much more successful to demand something privately instead of going into the public.

Hi Oswald Boelcke,
Thanks for your reply.
Alas, I could only express my regret that my threads were closed not by the rules of the forum but by personal arbitration.
Regards,
PS: I appreciate your frankness on English language. In the era of television, image often pretends to be more grandiose than message. A true Master may not necessarily master language, for example, Mingyur Rinpoche. : )
Looks like a DM could've clarified this but I see the tongue and cheek and appreciate a smirk haha
