I have 8125 window mobile 6 and i wanna upgrade it to window mobile 6
can anybody tell me how do i get the upgrade please help me ??????????
First, check out the wiki's. Then read the stickies by Dr. P. Do this at least 3 times so you don't miss anything. Everything you need to know is in the wiki's and stickies. Once you have read them and re-read them and feel comfortable enough to work all the needed steps, then look in the WM6 section and choose a rom that best suits YOUR needs. There is no single perfect rom. The best rom is the one that fits you. Once you have read, read, read the wiki's and stickies, and downloaded YOUR rom, you are ready to upgrade. IF you screw up, then post back here, but please try it first. We will not hold your hand or give easy answers. This has been asked hundreds of times and answers can be found in the wiki's, stickies, and by using the search button. It is best that you understand your device before you do anything, because anything you attempt, you do at YOUR OWN RISK.

2. Don't come here and expect us to tell you everything. There are guides posted explaining how to unlock and flash your device. There's a Wizard wiki. There's a full FTP site with tools and programs.

tell you what, we'll all help you upgrade...if you still can't do it yourself, if you can tell us WHY you want to upgrade to WM6.
Or just go back to school so you can learn to read all the DAMN STICKIES!!!!

i too am a novice to mods for pocket pcs. fortunately for me i have experience in regular pcs and the others are right if every member spent all their time "holding your hand" then there would never be mods made. Basically just browse around and read a few posts and search out ones from guys like faria and you won't be disappointed.

9 steps to upgrading.
1) You need to read the posts in this forum about upgrading.
2) You also need to know what kind of wizard you have (G3 or G4).
3) You need to read some more
4) You need to choose a ROM
5) You need to read some more
6) When you’re done reading, read some more.
7) Read more.
8) Read more.
9) Upgrade!

XDA can help if you too are willing to work, and there are sooooo many tutorials here, that reading really IS the best way to begin.
I recently responded to another similar thread from someone new to this...read it, it pretty much says how to upgrade... etc, and read everything else you can get your hands on...
Sometimes us new jacks need a hand to guide us through. Everyone was new at one time or another. Thanks akashatrega, I have read the other thread and I will try to flash my rom again.

Hope it helps...not to be rude, I just didn't feel like typing it twice, so I hope you were able to find the answer in the other thread I mentioned helpful.
In all seriousness, I remember when I was new and begged for guidance, everyone kept telling me to read...and I was like wtf...f*ck you very much but I need help, not a lecture to read...I later discovered after much reading, that xda gets MANY similar questions, and has answers for them all...but one must read to find them. It was a hard pill to swallow when I wanted a straight answer right then, but in reading the threads, I learned so much more than I would have, had someone just answered me. Not to say (for all the "old tymers") that it is OK to just say Read the threads, we should all help...but sometimes reading the threads really IS the best way to learn about the device. I still read the threads in hopes that one day I can attain the geek-god status of many here.
Too true but sometimes if just pointed to the right thread (like you did) I can read it and figure it out. I read through "The Guide" and "How to flash a ROM" and thought I had it figured out until I "flashed" and I still had my original ROM on it instead of BlackDiamond. Once I read the other thread you posted to I realized I hadn't unlocked like I thought I did. I am now flashing BlackDiamond as I type this and will see if I got it right.

I have the AT&T Tilt and i want to know how I can upgrade it to the new windows 6.1. I contacted AT&T but they told me there is no update for it, but as i read through the threads, i see people that have 6.1 on their tilt.

As AT$T said there is no update,
As he said above, if you had bothered to read at all you would realize that these are custom made 6.1 roms.
You will be able to tell, that there is little that, is more annoying around here, than someone coming along, without reading anything, and saying " hi guys , what's everyone talking about ? "

you guys got it all wrong
C'mon people. Start at the top. The section that says "Sticky" is a good place to start.
1. Read, read and read some more. << This step is critical. You need to lear the steps to flashing a rom.
2. Hardspl << Another critical step. You have to perform this step unless you personally know moderator GSLEON3 and dont mind bricking your device.
3. Read some more until you find the rom you like. Noone is going to be able to tell you what rom is best. It's a users choice.

Hi firstly I would like to apologise, I have read through many topics on these forums, tried the search and in the process and found out many useful tips for my phone, yet I'm still somewhat nervous about which versions/radio etc. I should install.
I have a HTC Touch HD on Orange UK, it is my primary phone and I would be somewhat distraught if I were to break it.
Would someone recommend which version I should use and a link to a good beginners guide. I really think the news Windows Mobile 6.5 has reached the masses as it were and it would be good to have a tutorial that was user friendly for those that have not flashed devices before.

I have the ATT Samsung Captivate. I was wondering what is the best rom out there for the phone and how to root phone and/or put a custom rom on it

Plus please take some time to go through "Development" forums reading through the various ROMs, and a couple pages that follow it. You should be able to make out which ROM suits you. Every person's opinion may be different about the ROMs here.
Don't mean to be rude, but before posting questions like this, please atleast open page 1 of the forums. You'll find threads explaining the steps to root and install ROMs.
Start by doing a lot of reading...you need to read everything you can about what interest you.When you get ready to make the change..make sure you follow the directions given by the book.
There is no "best rom" for every one...they...just as we...are all different.. what works for 1 person may not be "best"for another.....they all have their good points...but it is really up to you to determine what you want your phone to have on it...

Could try reading the "sticky" up on top too.. might point you in the right direction to get you started.
I'd do the research first on how your phone works... THEN flash a ROM.
Usually a good rule to go by is seeing what the top 3 are and reading in there first to find out the +/- of that ROM are then flashing it to check it out.
