1. How do I get file explorer to show me filenames with extensions?
2. How do I change a files' extension in File Explorer? (When I right click and choose Rename, it gives me the ability to change the Primary Name, but not the extension! aargh!)

You might want to use this version for WM6, the one linked to above might not work so well.

yeah the one I linked above is to their website, not to the actual ppc download. look at Loopy's link for the actual location to dl the ppc version.

Well you can use resco regedit, comes with resco explorer.
Total commander works, but i doubt u know how to use it.

If it ends in .cab that goes on your phone, if you are unsure what filetype it is, unzip it, if you see a bunch of files in there than u just unzipped a cab file which is a no-no. So toss the cab file into ur storage card and use _insert file explorer here_ than double click it.
Is there a way to make windows explorer show more of the file name ?
when i run it on my tilt it cuts off some the name of the file or directory
is there a way to make it longer like in winxp you can make it read more

Do any of you know how to overwrite the gif image myinfo.192.gif it is saved in local\windows dir.. i get an error message when trying to delete or replace.
I wish to customise this startup page with my own image. Or, has anyone ever thought of customising this page with any add-on's?
What i would like is to use the S2U2 slider on this page as opposed to tapping the screen. But i imagine this would be a difficult task... or maybe not???

Try to copy your edited file to a folder somewhere on the phone ... then use Total Commander (on the phone) to copy it to the windows folder...
It’s a hidden file and the attribute also shows it's in ROM. I have already tried to copy to the windows folder with GSFinder but to no avail.

WoW great stuff Total Commander Worked! I would still like to edit this My Info Page with add-on's, so if any thoughts on this they will be greatly appreciated. There must be some way to add some controls of some type slide to unlock etc?

Hi. I'm running the latest Aserg ROM. It doesn't come with the search program. Is there anywhere I can download this program? I did a forum search and couldn't find anything..

what search program do you mean? Like a file search or window live?
If file search, the function should be built into file explorer.
If windows live, you obviously haven't been searching hard enough. This has been reported to not work on wm6.1, but try it anyway. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366683

Oops. It's the file search program. As far as the standard file explorer, i don't see a file search option.

create it/them
e.g. in tc go to \Windows\Start Menu\ and create the new folder/folders/sub-folders as you need them, then create *.lnk files of your progs in it/them

use tc
highlight the e.g. *.exe (don't open it!)
navigate File (menu) - >>>>> Create Shortcut, with Tree navigate to target folder, confirm with OK, done

What he means by that is that you need to create a shortcut. As simple as that.

I have to translate to English, but in your Explorer it should be like:
Mobile Device - My windows mobile-based device - Windows ...
that doesnt show all the files though

maybe you should check the following setting in your windows explorer:
Tools - Folder Options... - View (tab) - Files and Folders - Display xxx... option settings, maybe something required is unchecked there

it let you browse the pda enter all dirs
and see all files
im using total commander now like you said and it works fine i can see all the files. the only problem is i cant move any of them. it just gives me download error

great hint, thx for that, working, though I couldn't create a new shortcut with it, added cmd to Button Bar but all it does is move the file
