I think the operation speed of the HTC S730 is not a disaster, but just annoying. Basic things like opening the contacts or the Commanager etc. take FAR too long. I always use FreeRAM and other tools, keeping the free RAM at a maximum. But still... the speed is really annoying.
Are there any tweaks for a general faster reacting HTC S730? I mean it got 400MHZ!!!IT's supposed to be faster than that. I mean even opnening the slider needs like 3 seconds to adjust the screen. How is this possible with a Smartphone of 400MHZ. My stupid (old) Samsung slider reacts in 0.3 seconds after opening the slider, it got 15MHZ.
I MEAN PEOPLE, WTF
Please help
mm
I think it performs ok. This is my first device running any form of mobile windows so i dont have much to compare to. But all over im happy with it.
The one thing that does anoy me is the quality of the camera. I really thought the 2mp camera would be better. If you sneeze while taking a picture its all one big blur. People have to stand 100% still. Thank fook i didnt get it for the camera, hehehe
Waiting 3 seconds to adjust the screen after opening qwerty keyboard is ok. Have you ever had any other smartphone? On the Vox (S710) it take much longer (it's depending on what programs are running but basically it's slower).
I have used Vox for some time and the processor was really slow... rendering pages in IE, painting system graphics on lanscape was slow... I really think the 400 MHz makes Wings way faster.
BTW: Here's my little comparison benchmark.

why is my htc slower than urs?
I killed all running programs and processes before banchmarking. (And maybe switched to airplane mode but Im not sure)
okay, this is it then.
thx
btw i added u on msn, accept.

I was explaining this to Menneisyys, on the kaiser when u touch the screen the framerate drops severly, but on the 6700 this doesnt happen. would there be some sort of driver we can take from the 6700 and actually fix this??
see here, a screenshot of my devicce when touching the screen. ignore the line that reaches 100%, but that one that passes 75%, that's when i touched hte screen and held it for about 20 seconds.

if we could find someone with a 6700 that could get the driver, our problems might be solved? so if you have a 6700 or can find someone with a 6700 that would be great!
Could this high CPU use be related with sensitivity being set at different levels ?
(comparing the reg key between the two maybe...)
i want to confirm this on spv m3100 (htc hermes). When i play any game, when i touch the screen, frame rate drops significantly making those games which rely on touch screen hard to play,

nah sensitivity has nothin to do with it. i tried COD2 when i first got the kaiser with the AT&T rom (which the sensitivity sucked), and it was slow. then i tried with the htc rom (with good sensitivity) and it was the same.
Is this because of the TouchFlo ? Can try disabling the TouchFlo and try again.
XV-6700
I have an XV-6700 from Verizon! If there is something you guys need drop me an email at [email protected] with clear directions as to how to get to, and copy what you need. As you can tell I am a noob at all this, the only thing I have done is a few reg edits. Dont know jack about ROM's or anything like that.

cool v8s10chevy. well to start off with, have you played any games on your 6700 using the touchscreen? ill send you an email right now about making a benchmark like the one i did.
menneissys? do you know someone that has cooked 6700 roms and can find this file?
i was searching a tool for set the speed control of msm7200 cpus for underclock my kaiser but really i can find anything that sound me "compatible" for my kaiser, any one can suggest me one? regards!

And neither of which work on a Kaiser.
Overclocking on a mobile device is dumb anyway. And who would want to underclock a Kaiser.
i want undeclock my kaiser, i try both nue dynamic works but dont show the speed and i am not sure if is secure, recently the program add support for this cpu, and nue clock... dont even open! regards!!!
PD: any comercial apps there that suppor this device?
in my Kayser ( WM 6.1 - T.I.R.v12K ) they works perfectly.
For nueDynamicClock, probably, you must manually start the service :
"nueDynamicClock(NDC0)"

If nueDynamicClock don't open, you can try to link directly the .cpl :
32#"\Windows\nueCPL-ClockSpeed.cpl"
Regards.
ok i thinks i gonna be glad if i can make work NueControl (not dynamic) to get work, so i install the cab, go to the start menu open the program and nothing happend, i should start some other thing? regards!
Oh, cool! Last I viewed either of those two projects it was not supported on the Kaiser! The way he has it set up makes good sense, and I've just started testing it but you can't tell it's underclocked if you set the Default speed to be normal, then drop it down on idle, backlight, suspend. Only problem is, he has it defaulted to 192mhz in the profiles, so you have to edit the profile or everything is dog slow, but the other settings you won't notice the difference because you're not actually using the phone when it's happening.
Stability will be the question, I saw several posts about phone calls causing problems, etc, so we'll see. Also concerned about TrackMe and some things like that which I run in the background sometimes, so we'll just have to see!
@wolframio74:
... sorry, i don't remember the necessity of some workaround for nueClockControl,
I have just installed it, and all was OK .
Samsung galaxy s and android together is a nonsense
Subject volume
now if i want to lower the ring tone down when i am in office it works simple and easy
but what stupid it is my sms ring is still like a loudspeaker, i have to manually go inside setting and do the volume control. completely nonsense.
after office i put my phone on high but i usually forget to go inside tweak things and do the sms volume up and high ( i missed so many imp text)
and in silent mode if i try to play some game it will have music to start with because the media volume is again different level needs another correction there...
such small things which are very imp and even after 4yrs of android no luck....
come on if i want to link a contact i want to type and search a name and do it quick rather i scroll all the names.
Samsung Android what nonsense... CAN SOME ONE HELP ME & THEM UNDERSTAND
and there are so many such things... to much to type may be someday later .....
such a trivial thing
install this and it will fix your problem

thanks this sounds worth it.............
but this being a widget i am sure it will use continuous ram.
You could also try an app called Quick Profiles - works well and you can create your own custom profiles as you see fit.
Oh thanks ......i like the audio widget but i must give this a try since the audio widget makes my slow phone run even slower......
i read it some where samsung galaxy s was the fastest phone...... why is the ram/rom part always been used more then 70 %..........

all my 7 screen are full of widgets
wow you have a very interesting screen and looks you are pretty tech savvy.... nice
I am driven by tech and speed i hate slow and sloppy things...... i mean this is a wonderful phone better then all my previous phones I phone 3g, E72, bold 9700 .......
but the truth is it is still not perfect it lacks so many details and at times the response is so very slow.
I am waiting desperately for FROYO ...........
I have looked around to see if there were any other substantial methods to adjust the way memory was dealt with in the galaxy S. After using the phone throughout the day I do notice it bogging down to a crawl, even to open the messaging app. Now I did read in the development section about the recompiled libdvm.so for froyo. But I'm not getting ahead of myself since the file is still in testing. For immediate results I've been tinkering with Minfreemem.
If you don't know what it is, here's a run down by android central.
http://www.androidcentral.com/fine-tuning-minfree-settings-improving-androids-multi-tasking
It adjusts the way android allocates ram to specific applications running or in background. Now other forums have some information about settings and which is best, but I havent dug up much info for the galaxy. The app itself has presets and those work well. The only thing that bothers me is the presets are a bit outdated and not configured for any specific phone in mind. The screenshot below is just an example of default settings on a phone running HTC sense. My default settings running Quantium 2.7 rom was different.

After messing around for a while and looking up if anyone was using "similar apps" for the nexus S so i can test out their settings. I came only to some japanese site where the translation didnt work out very well...
So here is my settings I been using for an hour, notice the presets do show a lot of empty ram "96" to speed things up without bugging down. I believe that unused ram is wasted ram.
Foreground: 14
Visible: 28
Secondary: 32
Hidden: 32
Content provider: 64
Empty app: 32
with these settings I was able to toggle back and forth from apps without reloading. Especially the gallery, that tends to slow down quite often. Opening new apps was smooth and switching back to threads and contact lists were good as well.
I want to quote the article at android central
I want to stress -- there is nothing wrong with the way Android handles this out of the box. It's efficient, works well every time, and keeps things stable. It's our meddling and the need for instant gratification that is the real issue. Waiting .3 seconds longer never killed anyone. But I'm just as guilty as anyone else, and want immediate results too, so let's do it!
If you have anything to contribute thats "informational" please do.
Dear XDA fellows,
I have a pure S9 (SM-G960F) and recently installed the official One UI 2.0 update (G960FXXU7DTA3). The device has become progressively slow to the point where most operations, such as opening the camera, going home, switching an app etc. take 2-5 seconds each. I suspect that the problem is bad memory management as I constantly have only 700mb free (out of 4GB) and everything that is not immediately visualised now is killed in the background - even my home launcher and keyboard have to reload every time they are opened. I have attached a screenshot of the biggest ram utilisers:

Is anyone else having this issue? Are you having a mostly smooth experience with the newer update on the S9?
Yes, me too. I had to go back to Pie 9.0

I don't have any issues, my S9 feels a lot smoother than before with one ui 2.0.
And I didn't do a factory reset either, just wiped cache after updating.
