I activated and unlocked the Home Plugin with kaiserTweak and added the music player tab. I installed the HTC HOme Customizer so as to change its appearance. This was successful the first time.
Now I want to change it again, but when I try to save the changes i receive this error message:
"An error occured copying your selected [background, clock, icons or weather]. The Program will now continue."
I want to either restore the plugin to the original (without a hard reset) or be able to change it as the program is designed to do. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help in advance. I tried to find the answer by searching related topics, but didn't score. Sorry
Nevermind...Plugin v2.0 did the trick. Sorry to waste your time and mine.

Hi
Just flashed my rom with bal666's splash editor, which is so easy to use.
Then restored my data using xBackup for the 1st time when it came to softreset i got an error saying
'Cannot find 'VoiceCmd' (or one of its components)'
Does this file belong to Microsofts Voice program or something else and whats the best way of fixing the error now and to stop it happening again on the next restore.
Thanks
fixed problem.
it was microsoft voice but i don't know why it happened
thanks
voicecmd.exe issue on htc touch diamond
I dont know how i managed to do it, but even after upgrading to latest official ROM, i deleted something and then I started getting "voicecmd.exe" errors every time the phone started up. My fix was to install Microsoft Voice Commander. This worked but i found that I was using memory for a program I dont use, or didnt seem to work out of the box.
It might be a great thing, but i havent lost any time trying to learn how to use it, and even without it, voice speed dial works normally/perfectly and allows to start not only a call to a contact (you still need to record the voice tags) but also to start applications.
If anyone out there has decided to remove microsoft voice command, like i did, then you should use a tool like sktools to find invalid registry keys and you will find the key by searching on sktools registry tool, for "voicecmd".
I should have taken note of the path but i can tell at least that the word "startup" is in it.
Anyway, removed key, phone starts faster and hey, nothing like 50% used memory!
Screw TF3D and thumbs up for handy weather!
Btw, love my HTC Touch Diamond...
how did you fix it guys ?
Does anyone has a clue if we can remove the small mobile icon on the photo in the Favorite People? I notice this icon will show up if I have more than 1 number ties to the person.
just delete hh_people_16x16_device.png, hh_people_16x16_home.png and hh_people_16x16_working.png from your windows directory.
these are the small icons...
HAllo,
I have the same problem...i found these files in windows directory but the menu items "Delete" or "Cut" are disabled. What can i do? Thanks
petervbeck: Thanks but like Queenmercury I do not have the option to delete them. They are part of the ROM probably because I have a HTC TyTn II. Any program that I can use to remove unwanted ROM files?
xoxo
You can't delete because the files are in use by HTC Home.
Disable HTC Home in Settings -> Today and try again.
If it's still not working, try using TotalCommander to delete the files.
--> Sorry for wrong information: Solution see Post #10
I tried using Resco Explorer to delete. No luck. Error: Files are part of the ROM.
Let me make sure, on the HTC HOME screen you are trying to get rid of the "Contacts" tab (the one where you can assign phone numbers to little blocks)
I did it because I have an app called face contacts which works much better. lol
I just tried this and it works but you have to install a few other CAB files to get it to work.
go to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319308&highlight=home+customiser
Then follow the directions to install the HTC HOME CUSTOMIZER (HHC)
when you go to the set up on the bottom tabs in the HHC there is a tab for the HTC HOME "tabs"
It is there where you can add or take out specific tabs.
hopefully it works for you like it did me.
No, they just want to get rid of the little icon that attaches itself the the front of the contacts image when you assign a specific number, eg mobile instead of home.
I also tried disabling the home screen, deleted the icons with resco, but the icons were there again when I restarted the plugin.
Tried restarting device, and the files I got rid of were there again...
I have the opposite problem... I have the Favorite people tab checked so that it should be on my Today screen. No matter what I do, I can only get the today, weather, launcher, ringtones and musice tabs to show up. I would actually like the Favorite people tab on the today screen. I have the HHC program and have put contacts in, but still no tab showing up.

Have you tried to delete this registry key already ?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/MASD/QuickDial
it's not that hard to find when you do a quick search.... maybe next time....
To keii and Queenmercury:
The solution are transparent pics, see attachment.
Disable HTC Home and then replace the existing files with the attached files. Works fine on my Kaiser
I did a search but did not get any results. When I followed your link to quick search, there it was. Apparently I have not been searching the entire site, only Kaiser. Thanks... the fix did indeed work and I will use the quick search from now on!

Many thanks petervbeck for prompt response but it's still not working. I tried to replace the files with your transparent and it's telling me they are read-only file.
Is there a registry key I can edit to remove the picture?
Thinking about getting one of these, but it would be more of a trial for someone else. Can someone tell me if it's possible to remove the M3D interface and go back to an HTCHome type interface? I'm sure it would install, but is there a version, or does it work on a VGA device? Please let me know if you've actually tried this, I can speculate that it would work, but I'm really not sure.
HTC Home VGA + HHC 1.0f
Of course there is, catch here
The first file is VGA version of classic HTC Home I found somewhere on this site. The second is HTC Home Customizer that allows you to enable/disable panels. Be advised there is NO music panel and direct music playback is probably not possible with this version.
Have fun

Reup
Sorry, I forgot to login to my RS account before uploading, reuploading as single file right now, I will update the links above
Downloaded and try now! Hope this would be an solution to replace the TouchFLO which might be a battery hungry!
I got rid of Touchflo as well here is a screenshot. I am still looking to change the clock the files I used to use on a Kaiser dont work anymore but HTC home works great.

Today
Here's mine, it's VERY functional and quite sexy but it's just me I like to use stylus on today and see EVERYTHING as soon as I power on the display, SPB Shell is for finger access
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2915485&postcount=45
Oh and I mapped a custom app menu from SPB Shell under long press of the Home button, it's loaded with ~11 apps I use the most to squeeze last bits of usability out of that baby
Hi, i can't get HTC Home Customizer to work for me. No matter what changes i make in it, when i go to apply them it always gives me the error: "An error occured copying your selected 'whatever'. The program will now continue." None of the changes are ever applied.
Any ideas what's wrong?

Try posting in the thread you got HTC Home from, you might get a better response, but i don't believe that HHC is compatible with the vga version because of different sized icons, etc.
Hi everyone,
I could use some help from the experienced TYTN owners out there:
I just purchased a used HTC TYTN II (my first pocket PC). The person who owned it previously downloaded the Ulitmate X.V4 ROM and Manila 2d into the phone already (took me a while to figure out what the "xda-developers" screen was that popped up every time I turned on my phone!).
1st problem- tried to simply customize my today screen by selecting items to be displayed in the 'settings>personal>today' tab. I check off the items I want as per the operation manual (i.e. tasks, appointments) but after clicking 'ok' nothing has changed on the today screen. When I go back into the settings, what I checked is no longer checked. Frustrating!!
So then I thought maybe this problem would be solved by adding a customization program. Downloaded the Manila customizer and a theme off this site (as a newbie, learned to download cabs by trial and error- couldn't find any clear cut beginner instructions on the internet on how to do this- so who knows if I've done it right). Loaded the theme this didn't help me customize what's on the today screen nor did the background change (only the title bars and menus changed)- no idea why or how to fix this.
I also tried to download the HTC home plugin, HHC customizer and appearances files. Managed to successfully download the customizer and appearances but the app won't run because I don't have the HTC home plugin and this file won't download. Every time I try I get the message: "installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions." What does this mean??
Basically, all I want is a today screen that is customized to show my appointments, tasks along with the clock, calls, etc. And a nice theme would be great. Why can't I do this?! If anyone has suggestions or some links to beginner information that would be awesome.
I would also like to be able to download apps and run them... I have a TomTom GPS moblie disk but considering I can't even display my appointments on my phone, getting this to work will be mission impossible! Again, anything that will point me in the right direction would be much appreciated!
Jenn
u need to unload your manila in order for you to show all those today menu
OMG thank you so much- it's all good now. I sadly would not have figured out such a simple thing and unfortunately I could not find anything on the internet that would explain this. The guy who had the phone before me obviously knew what he was doing and downloaded all kinds of stuff, which is great... but then it made the official manual useless while learning the phone!!
I have my tasks/appts on the today screen like I wanted but I'm sad that I don't have the "actions" tab with touchflo anymore
