WM ROM Kitchen - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 6 Upgrading

I'm currently using c shekars 7c ROM. I was wondering how he does the external ROM automatic installation (which is copied to the storage card)when you first start up the xda2. Can someone create a bare WM6 with an external ROM like shekars so basically it's pretty much a kitchen? being not too savvy when it comes to programming, this is really the only way for us noobies to be able to sort of cook our own ROMS. Perhaps providing the wonderful cab files as well on 1 thread like Vdialler which is a great app, a selection of htc home with 3,4,5,6 tabs as the actual configuration cab file doesn't seem to work, a multiple comm manager with 6,8, and 10 buttons and other hard to find essential apps. I'm currently trying to build a black vista looking theme. I'll attached a copy of my theme for you guys to have a look at. so... i''m calling on the help of the seniors, especially shekar, ather90 and utak3r. please please please.

Hey man..thank a lot for the comment...Just tell me the files u want and i will build an EXT for it..even if there are REG hacks or changes like timezone , etc...

I'm with christian... a blank rom to go with the ext rom would be awesome... I love the roms you seniors have made... and have had the most fun time noobing my way thru.... thanks to all the xda team but especially shekar, ather90 and utak3r for many hours of frustration and enjoyment

there is ROM kitchen with WM6. Utak3r have newer, but unfinished version. I would try to finish and publish it

fisrst of all Welcome to Xda-dev's Gelf.....Hope u enjoy ur stay around her..
Well then i will start uploading a Clean ROM with Not TOO many apps ( file explorer and common apps cant be removed)...i have a clean rom for AKU 1.0.0 and 0.7.0
@christian....I like ur theme but the wallpaper is not regarding "VISTA"..
i am posting mine

quick reply
how about a clean rom with non essentials taken out. or maybe one with a preconfigured touchflo and cube as that requires quite a few things( which means adobe flash lite is installed). tcpmp player with all the plugins instead of mediaplayer. resco explorer rather than the dull file explorer. fast cleanup or stktools for maintenance. mms and patch and bt app for connectivity. and of course the network wizard for gprs/3g. maybe that seems like a great starting point.anything else could be added on the external rom.
again my thanks and reards to all senior members for putting up with us noobies especially ather who seems to be everywhere answering everyone's questions and requests.

Mui Wi6ard ROM

Mobile User Interface for the WM6 Wizard ROM. It's something me and some friends are working on. I don't think it will ever be finished though because we're not clever enough, (LOL, sorry guys)
The idea came up after some ROM Cooking trial, the kitchen release and also Molski.
It's creating a Program like in Windows where one can choose what to include in his or her ROM build and burn it.
Just start with:
*IPL
*Radio
*OS (why not a clean one, none phone related)
*programs and stuff to include
All cabs are available, it's just combining it in a nice UI. This also will decrease the threads on custom builds..
Nice idea....

Wonderfull initiative, there are a lot of tools, but a tool to controll them all would be nice
You should also check:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297257
Dutty has programmed a new release of his kitchen..
Looks like he already has done lot of things you are aiming for.
Now it's only compatible to hermes (because of the use of aChef), but I believe it can be transformed to use for a wizard, maybe you guys can work together?
Also this one could come handy too:
bepe's XIPPORT
To replace XIP modules

Blue Angel Applications

I am a new owner of a Blue Angel and I'm looking for cab files for camera application, mms application, and all other applications which are best for my device. Hope you can give me a link to download the files.
Thanks in advance.
congratulation for ur new PPC. U can download file from BA section and general section. ADVICE take backup of all ur data befor testing applications.
And dont try to flash ur device untill u know all the facts about BA.
Krishan,
Thanks for responding to a newbie like me. Is there a specific folder where I can download applications or do I have to go through with the threads?
Thanks again!
I suggest you search for it here using the search function...
i guess you're a busy man... or not used to browsing forums.
but reading the backround on each program makes you aware of
what bugs and features it may have.
Our BA (Blue Angel) is an old machine for WM6.
so not all programs may work accordingly...
it's better to have knowledge on what we install on our BA.
because whatever s**t (pardon the censorship) we may fall unto...
we ourselves are to blame on what can happen.
of course there's the xda-dev members like me and others
who would like to help as best as we can.
i tried to email you the other day but i get the notice
that you deleted it without reading.
for HTC Home... by Xplode (the big clock) look for it here,
it's near the bottom of the first post:
for MMS ExtRom... by LGSilva
Cant find the camera cabs yet... still looking....
for Other(Upgrading) information read ... WIKI for BA
I can't download the Arcsoft MMS cab due to restriction in rapidshare. Can somebody give me a direct download of this application, including MMS enable. I'm currently having problems with MMS in BA WM6. Thanks!

You did a great job. I really apreciate the big buttons and controls as they improve using the Shift in my car mount.
I haven't found any bugs so far.
Thanks
I didn`t found any bugs either. Some icons are crappy but that is nothing. Awesome rom, thanks!
Thank you for this ROM I believe it has good collection of tools & important softwares.
I'm downloading it X will be more than happy to post suggestions & ideas.
In the meanwhile, I'm wondering what is the use of internet sharing tool? Isn't already 'the vista, connected to the internet?
thank you very much.
If you are using for example Ubuntu on your shift you need internet sharing to connect to internet using 3G.
Thanks Gullum! Wll try this over the weekend. Is PowerPoint included? didn't see it in the list of Office Apps.
Brill
hello,
Thanks for the awesome ROM.
I agree with you totally that this is how the WM side should be - finger friendly and quick. This is my preferred ROM.
Yes,powerpoint is included
is there any tools to change resolution?
Very nice ROM. Thanks for reliving this forum
thanks, nice rom
Very nice rom, but mic still don't work..
Brill
The dictionary program Merriam-Webster installs and runs great on this ROM. It is free in its trial mode.
I also installed Youtubeplay, which is a bit of a chore with the screen resolution. I might install the VGA resolution changer so that I can change resolution, as I do rather miss the extra sceen space in google maps.
I also found the screen rotation to be a handy tool, so I am going to install quick menus or something similar.
gullum
thanks for the awesome ROM. Did you try to port XIP from the chinese RAW files that I posted in a different thread? I vaguely remember that MIC was working in that ROM. ROM version is 1.33.xxx Chinese Traditional. Even alex_time also confirmed that he saw that in his Italian ROM. He also posted the RAW files and posted the links for them in a different thread.
Thanks again

Help installing manila...

I've been installing the new WM6.5 by Davideuck...
Is super nice and fast, but has no manila...
Sometimes i miss manila, couse is user friendly and i'm used to use it (lol).
Can somebody help me installing it? Is there a cab file or a way to do it?
PS. I've been asking twice into the rom's thread but nobody gave me answers, so i ask it here.
Thank u
Mit
I think no one has answered because manila is not available as a cab yet, should search before posting. Try Miri's V7 Premium version (7.1 coming in the morning) It has manila and titanium, so you can switch between the two.

I already tryed that rom and i had some issues... That's why i want to try to install manila on Davideuck's ROM... I'll try the 7.1
tnx anyway
The problem with making Manila a cab is that it depends on a lot of other packages like Concurrence Manager, Push Internet, even Album, Audio manager etc. Without knowing what you have in your ROM it's impossible for someone else to make a working cab for you (without making cabs for all the missing packages, which is a real pain, they could conflict with what's already installed etc.). This is especially difficult given that most ROM cooks (with a notable exception of panosha and johnpatcher) aren't really collaborating and protect their ROMs so that nobody can see what and how they cooked in.
On the other hand, your current ROM is super fast exactly because it doesn't have all these packages! Of course a system is fast when it's empty. The inconvenience is the flipside of speed in this case.
In addition to that, I had Manila as a cab for one of my ROMs for testing purposes, and I have to tell you that its installation is very slow (because of the huge number of files and its sheer size). So it's extremely difficult and time-consuming to test and it's just easier to cook it in.
So I would recommend you to use a ROM with Manila if you want it.

Ah! I'm back! New roms, new propositions, new mind!

Hi!
Somebody important on this forum have sent my a himalaya!
I'm very happy of this, thank you, thank thank thank!!!
Now, when I have two phones, one himalaya which can't be used normally, and normal today use himalaya where I can test more stabler builds as normal use I can cook anywhere, everyday, everytime, always, and non-stop!
so I will COOK, COOK, COOK, COOK, COOOOOOK !!
Thank you muckelmaus !! You keept himalaya alive!
When I was no phone human (lol) I cooked a new rom, added so many useful things, etc!
Already built-in things:
- EzInput as default
- new graphics (more better)
- QuickMenu which can be used WITH homeycomb, you can use quickmenu and honeycomb at one moment!
- MS Tag reader
- Ms marketplace
- many fixes
I would build in manila
Here goes your propositions!
What you would have in your perfect rom?
Answer here, I will do anything to make best roms here! Ever!
Fine, that you happy again.
Do you like the aluminium cover? So, now you can sit down on your device, without braking it.
But I have to inform you: Be carefully, it does not swim! It even dives a lot better now!
I have a suggestion for a new signature for you:
Hey guys, take more corn flake, and less milk!

Done
Alluminium cover looks like bulletproof I use it
do not want.
things that should not! be in a ROM are -error reporting and customer feedback and marketplace.
and if u know how to remove them in a kitchen ie, which files, folders, .dll or .exe to delete please tell!
the amount of ROM's that are ruined and wasted by still having one of them installed especially having the icons for their tab in startmenu.
DAMN DAMN error reporting , customer feedback and marketplace
My perfect rom would be a wm 6.1 rom that is fast and has HTC Home and a honeycomb start menu.
AWESOME!!!! Or get HTC Home working in wm6.5

Firstly Welcome back Aeroflyluby
My ideal ROM will include the following
1: MS Office - A must include (I usually use alot of documents especially for work and University)
2: Adobe PDF - this is not essential but very useful in my view
3: Palringo - (I love it since you can login to MSN, Yahoo, Googletalk etc)
4: TOM TOM - As I travel alot to Europe with my little angel car I am more like dependent on TOMTOM - Only the program is needed I can get the maps with no issues
5: PIM Backup - *Most Important* since you can't tell when your hima dies out (talking with experience so this Utility is a big MUST.
6: PSSHUTXP - I use this when I get some problem with 'Hima getting stuck' and its quite handy - not very important though
7: Task Manager - One of the greatest things which should be on the main programs page and not under any folder such as System
8: A very simple Contact List just like we have in 6.1 and in some 6.5. The one I have right now I hate it but I don't know how to remove it and put the one I like so I left it as it is.
9: NoThreadedSMS - This is a must for me since I hate the conversational view of SMS - It just doesn't look natural to me so NoThreadedSMS please
10: Although I have been adding FastCleanup ever since I started upgrading Hima - I am not sure what it does to be honest - sometimes after browsing internet it doesn't show anything deleted yet at some time it does. Anyhow that is an optional for me.
11: The icons on the taskbar should be the same colour as of the background i.e. the buttons should not stand out with their individual background colours. The background (wallpaper) should be simple and not too shiny that you can't see a thing
Rest all is the usuall stuff which I am not too keen on changing ..

ROM isn't storage.
There is 2 chips on mainboard there, ROM, which can be read only in critical situations, like installing a new system on EMPTY doc.
DOC, which is storage, it is 64 mb (i guess it is because rom with compression takes 32 mb lol), partitioned as BIN-EXT-STOrAGE, but many people merge ext and storage part in one partition.
