another newbie post here, but despite having a read and asking before i'm still having problems.
touch flocube
i have this installed, but when i go to the media page, i get M0000, P00000 and V00000 rather than any names of files or anything more meaning full.
i have uninstalled and re-installed it, and in every other way the cube works fine, but i cant resolve this problem. anyone got any suggestions for me?
TomTom
as i have an orange supplied phone in the UK, i didnt get tomtom with mine. i have tried downloading 6.032 (i think) and got the message saying my rom needs to be updates.
a few people have suggested installing 6.03, but i cant find any legitiamte links for this, or a definite answer that this one will work. Any suggestions??
thanks in advance for any help
anyone any advice???
Not sure about your 1st problem (touchflo) as I don't use it on my Kaiser, however, try this for TOMTOM (6.032). It's the one I use without any problems.
However you will have to download the Map from here (for UK & western Europe. If this isn't your map, just do another search for your desired place).
And if you have any problems with it, PM me and I'll try and help...
thanks for those, but i cant download torents at work
anyone got a clue on my cube problem?

Hi everyone I'm new with WM, before I had only Symbian. I have ATT Tilt which I've unlocked and updated to Kaiser firmware, with help of this forum. Before Skype worked perfect for me, I had WM6 pro, but now when I've upgraded to WM6.1 it wont work, during loading message appears: Failed to load file. I've tried to reinstall it for few times... no help. Maybe somebody knows any solution for that problem. Thanks.

Seriously, does ANYONE read anything around here before they jump into a new ROM? Would you jump into a pool BEFORE looking to see if any water was in it? How many threads have people already posted and said "NOT ALL APPLICATIONS ARE WORKING ON 6.1" Start reading, read some more, THEN post a relevant question.

Downgrade back to WM6? Though I think I read somewhere that once you upgrade, you can't go back. There was a thread where people were finding problems with their phones after they went back to 6 that going back to 6.1 again didn't solve.
I remember when Vista first came out and the reports of programs failing left, right and centre. That's one of the main reasons I'm not bothering to upgrade until the compatability issues are resolved...
Is there any alternative program, that is also works with Skype network? I know Fring, but it's not so good. Maybe there are others?
I've had a Diamond for about 2 days now and i'm trying to figure out how to get a decent GPS application for it. I know the phone has GPS, but i'm guessing it's possible to install an actual GPS program in it, instead of just looking at your little blip move on the "google maps" app... I've also heard from several other forums that there's an "update package" that XDA developers have made for the diamon, that removes the laggy interface among other things. So if anyone has a direct link to it, could you please post it?
Thanks for the help, and sorry for my.... lack of knowledge to put it delicately, but my last phone was a Nokia 5140i
TomTom Navigator 7, Route 66, CoPilot, iGo8..... take your pick!
I use TomTom Navigator 7, works great! just like a standalone TomTom unit!
I have heard people talk about TT7 but where can you get it from. I understand the only place so far is when it comes bundled with the Touch Diamond on O2 in Germany. Does anybody else know where else I can get it from?
TT6 does work on the Touch Diamond. I just put the internal storage into "storage card" mode rather than "activesync" and moved all the files from the TT SD card to it. When I unplugged the sync cable TT sprung into life and installed, after I had fed it the correct code.
My TT6 is pretty old (6.01) and I can't get TT Home to update it to the newer versions. I notice that TT have on their website an update for HTC units dated January 2007. Would that work with my Touch Diamond and would it be any better?
Sorry in advance if my first post has broken any rules.

I have only been here a couple of hours and am beginning to think that this must be one of the unfreindliest forums I have ever come across. Where is the usual hand holding and help for newbies?
The topic that Zyborg linked to was mainly about using the internal GPS system and did not answer either the original poster's question nor mine. Unless there are some really deep meanings in it that a stupid newbie like me can't pick up.
Installing TomTom, iGO
Ok, i need some serious help when it comes to installing TomTom, iGo or any other of these GPS apps. All the readme: s say you're suppose to copy the folders to your SD card, but obviously the Diamond uses internal memory, so this can't be done. I've tried plugging in the Diamond to my computer, choosing "storage card" instead of ActiveSync, and copying the iGo folder into the program files directory of the internalmemory. But nothing happens. Even if I open the iGo .exe from the Diamond itself later on. So again, can someone please tell me how to install one of these things?

For how long did you search: 3 minutes???
Search and search and read.
And welcome.
Suggest you look at the link specifically posted by zyborg before you commenting! It has nothing to do with the posted questions!
I did not say or suggest I had searched before posting, but boy do some of you get touchy with new people who don't know "the rules". Suggest you read the last sentence of my original post.
Still - nice welcome smily at the end
to Keyz86 for TT7
Hi,
could you tell me where I can get it please ?
thanks first

Hi all. I have the Telus CDMA version of the HTC Touch Diamond. Because telus wants to sell everyone their telus navigator, they've had it and google maps removed on their custom version of the ROM!
So I have a request for the team here: does anyone have a cab version of quickgps that will work for the diamond? I have seen many other posts on this site that have cab files/rars of the necissary files for other phones, but they don't work for the telus diamond, I get the following error when i try to run the program:
"the file 'quickgps' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
I got the files i tried to use from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...9&d=1209308371
This is still an unsolved problem based on these posts:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2446429
the above files have worked for some: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=27312&highlight=quickgps+with+patch
but they dont work the the telus diamond. Is anyone willing to offer help/suggestions/extracted files for quick gps including necissary drivers?
Your help is greatly appreciated,
Iddoc
I can't guarantee that it'll work but it's worth a shot; try the cab in my signature.
Solved it by looking here...
Hi. Thanks for the suggestion, I didn't get a chance to try your cab file however. I found the answer to the problem, at least for telus branded HTC touch devices on this page:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35592
I havn't tried any of the custom cooked roms, I just went down to the sticky post, under GPS and installed the cab file- it changes some registry settings that now allow the GPS to get a fix in less then 5 seconds.
Hope this is helpful to someone else.

I had the same problem and couldnt find anything on the subject until now..
QuickGPS still doesnt work for the Telus diamond but that doesnt matter anymore, those registry tweaks are 1000x better than QuickGPS and now aGPS actually works! No need to download updates or any of that crap to get a quick TTFF
I went on my balcony which would normally take 3 minutes to fix and not only did it fix in under 10 seconds.. but I instantly got full signal strength.
Thank you for posting this resource for the Telus diamond. It is very very helpful and I hope many other Telus diamond owners are able to find it as well.
..Now excuse me while I uninstall QuickGPS.
Cheers man, great info!
EDIT: Holy ****! Now I even get a fix indoors! 4/5 bars with TT7!!
... Not that is really means alot, but its a very nice bonus.

As a fellow Telus HTC DIamond user... big thanks for posting this. GPS signal used to take forever (over 5 mins). now i get pick up in a few seconds indoors!
Did you simply run the cab, or you also followed this 13-steps process described there (looks dangerous ) ?
Also interesting to know which registry keys this cab changes/adds/removes
Hello guys;
I am trying to connect my Xperia and TomTom Home together in order to buy(!)/download/install new maps+updates and use Map Share.
Unfurtunately, I did not have any luck yet: TT-Home keeps waiting for connection and does not recognize any TomTom device.
Could someone point me to the right direction?
Do I need some special Home version (mine is 2.4 from the tomtom's website)?
Does TT need to be installed in some special way (mine is the very latest 7.910, installed as cab from the card's 2577 folder to main memory)?
...thanks in advance!
Home?
You don't need Tom Tom Home. When you startup TomTom on your phone and there is no map it will automatically ask you to download a "city" map to test the features or buy a map. At least that happened on mine
I haven't managed to get tomtom home 2.* to work either, but tomtom 1.6 works fine, you can download that from the tomtom home page

You can download 1 free city map but it won't let you buy any more - message states that this is not available in your region (yet)

no, I definitively need it. I want to buy/download/use/update big maps and also use Map Share. It is impossible without TomTom Home.

Thanks a lot but I think that TomTom HOME 1.6 for NAVIGATOR 6 only (and does not support Map Share), and I'm trying NAVIGATOR 7 which is only supported by 2.4.
HTC owners with pre-installed TomTom 7 are able to use it with TomTom Home -- I want it too! Therefore I'm asking if someone already got this connection.
anyone?...
or nobody has TTHome + TT7 running?..
For me it doesnt work too.
I have the 7.4 something version running and Tom Tom Home dont recognize it..
How were you able top use the 7.9 Version of Tom Tom on your X1 ?
When I try to install it a message shows up that my device is not compatible or something...
I don;t know if it may help, but I have a touch diamond (and soon getting the x1) but tt home worked for me. Have you tried to hook up your device as diskdrive rather than in active sync mode? It worked for me that way with tt home
hi, I had tomtom home 2.6 detecting x1 ok and installing mapshare updates. but since Ive flashed to the uk r3a rom, tomtom home cannot detect any device "No device connected".
Ive tried changing the usb to pc settings.
I notice in system, settings, device information , my memory card id and card version only has little squares instead of a number or whatever is should be?
Ive flashed to touch-it v9 (r3a) and still no device connected.
wonder if anyone has tomtom home 2.3 or 6 and x1 wth r3a rom working ok ?
TIA.
I've got the same problem after flashing r3aa
Same here (R3AA013).
Somebody a solution?
I´m fishing up this thread to see if anyone has come up with a solution/can give me an idea where to continue searching for an answer. As previous posters it worked perfectly with TTN7 and TTHome2.7 (yes a legit bought version) but since I´ve flashed the latest official firmware from SonyEricsson and TTH won´t detect my device. The X1 is not hardspl as it seems that r3a firmware is the problem.
Any ideas since TTH unfortunately wont update TTMobile of a memorycard it has to detect the phone. I´ve tried all setting regarding connection I can find both on the phone and on the PC, even tried XP, Vista & W7.
I´m reluctant to downgrade the rom back as I fins the r3a to be a lot quicker but if that is what it takes...
All help greatly appreciated.
annoyance.
I think its a deliberate move by TomTom as they want TomTom 7 to be exclusive to certain phones. What their reasoning is I dont know, but as stated previously, TOMTOM home 1.6 although more primitive does seem work with the tomtom 7 software. you can download updates and install stuff like new voices and maps, but I dont think it has mapsharing.
This exclusivity BS has been annoying me and even though I paid for the maps I am thinking of changing my GPS software to Garmin or something.

That should not be the case as my version of TT7 is bought separately on DVD and as stated on the package "Requirements: Any PocketPC running Windows Mobile 5 or above". I have not downloaded any of the hacked versions laying around.
Well if its offical then maybe the tomtom customer support can help you. ive just looked at the aussie site and all they appear to be doing there is providing software and support for the iphone. no mention of winmo at all.
I decided to downgrade the Xperia ROM to R2A and live with it, TT Home is working again.
Btw here´s a link to the swedish tomtomstore selling the app and the phones it works with:
http://www.tomtom.com/products/section.php?ID=898&Section=709&Lid=18&Category=2
What are the differences between r2a and r3a
so it seems to me, that the diference between the old rom and the new is, that there is a change in the rom that says tthome that the x1 is the kovsky.
so has anyone an idea, where the information of the tpye of the experia is stored on the rom r2a and what has changed that r3a doesn work with tomtom home (i have a legal sd card, that does not work with my phone because it says incompatible device. i just copied all data form the sd card to another card without the tt7 software. then i downloaded an tt7 software and installed it on my x1, since i have a legal one an the support din't help me with a patch and tomtom din't give me my money back)
today i 've seen that x1 is now on the list, so i would be glad if someone can help me to run my tomtom software with the newest rom, since tomtom support doesn'T help me)
hi to evryone
if somebody needs the latest tomtom 7 navi for xperia....
just post me....i got it with key;o)
Hello ~~~
I'm a noob here on this site, so Hopefully I'm posting this correctly (if not, my apologies in advance...) I read through quite a few posts to see if there was a similar question already posted. If I've overlooked one please feel free to direct me to any posts on the subject.
I recently bought a HTC 8525. I owned a Treo Centro before, and ran a copy of Garmin Mobile XT on it. After purchasing my 8525, I tried to load my XT program on my phone. It installed without a hitch, but when I opened it up to run the program and use it ..... I received an error message that showed that my maps weren't present. Is there certain settings that I can change to make them visible, or is there something else I can do to be able to use it on my phone?
Thanks in advance for the help
did you downloaded the map file?
Here's the thing .... it was working with my former phone. I switched carriers recently, so all I want to do is be able to use it on the phone that I use everyday. I think its just a bit excessive to carry around a extra phone (which doesn't work otherwise), just to be able to use my GPS program.
I had never gotten this error message (about the maps being locked) with my other phone. I have the unlock code for it, but I don't know how to get to the area where it can be inputted. I've searched the program (as well as i could), but am unable to find out where exactly to place the code so that I can unlock it. Any help would be appreciated.
Got someone to correct the problem for me. Thanks for the help ........
