Have all these WB6 roms got the same camera interface?
Has anyone found a better app for this, becuase the camera app that comes with this is awful compared to the old wm2003 one.
displays as 1/2 screen and really low res
I remember the original wm2003SE homalaya roms had a similar problem ,until someone ported the original wm2003 camera app over and it ran like a charm.
I've tried coolCamera (ateksoft) and it seems really good, but i'm not paying for something i'll use so rarely.
Are there any hacks for the wm6 camera ap yet? or has anyone poprted the old one?
I can say you are right, If I compare with old application of camera, it is very bad. But I am sure the room master will not give attention only for this because it is additional software. Including me doesn't care about camera until you wrote this thread
But I agree sometimes we need camera function
I will release my new rom soon with Faria's Cam app
ather, If you release ROM with working cube launcher completely, it will make different with another ROM It is just my two cent Sorry if my wish is too much. I know it will be very hard work.
But new application camera will be a cool rom too

Hello,

Hot fix for TyTN II photo quality issue
If you zoom in on a captured photo and notice grainy, maze-like patterns within the image itself (this problem is caused by too much sharpness enhancement being applied in bright-light environments), please download and install this hot fix to solve the problem. Sharpness parameters within the photo will then be reduced with only a minimal loss of image sharpness.
enjoy

Lol, not working both links are down.

Something's messed up in their form - after assorted messing around with addresses I hit the jackpot with this:

Thank you Boinng !
It works fine for me... The quality seems better but I will test it later...
thank you for the fix cab
because in the www.HTC.com, there is big problem connexion with the FTP
installed in UK MDA Vario 3 running Duttys 6.1 ROM and not noticed much, if any inprovement in quality. No negative effects tho so will keep testing.
thanks
Placebo
If HTC would be in pharmacy and drugs, i would call it a "Placebo".
# of pixels per pic similar as before fix though. No granular difference even with a x20 zoom enlarging soft.
Taken with same position - same light
Downside:
Application starts slower and focus takes longer.
Tested on Alex's 5.2 Home.
I took 2 pictures from the same object - one before installing the cab, and one after installing the cab.
Result: can't see any improvement too

There IS a definite improvement. The 'Zoom' which HTC refers to is not the camera zoom when taking, but the post viewing on a PC or in the album app. I used to have this horrible 'hatching' type effect when shooting on 3mp especially in the sky. It was very noticable on cloudy days. This has now disappeared.
Worthwhile fix in my book.

This might just be an updated Camera application that most of us have already gotten thanks to Nadavi.
It's not a new app, just a couple of new, replacement DLLs. It seems to do what the description says it does - it gets rid of the herringbone pattern that sometimes appeared in the grain of pictures in certain lighting situations. The pattern was only ever seen when pictures were blown up.
It's not a magic fix for everything else people dislike about the camera app, but it's worth installing.
according to Alex on this dup thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375100&page=3
It is newer then what polaris camera tossed in, thats if they did toss in anything. both DLLs were newer when I overwrite in my windows folder using totalcmd. Try dragging the pictures to a computer with a good monitor and start zooming in. Maybe if someone can experiment in a zoom in test with old driver to new drivers.

If you're manually installing the DLLs, ModuleID.dll isn't required. It's used in the cab install/uninstall process. Updated the duplicate thread for clarity about ModuleID.DLL too.
Is there a way that you could post the cab itself? I have a Tilt and HTC eclub won't let me get the file. Thanks
Esse Hotfix é compativel no WM6 em Portugues??
Obrigado

does voice work for you? meaning when you call people or they call you .. can you hear them? If not than you need to change the radio... if you flashed a wm6.1 rom than make sure you update to a wm6.1 radio.
A little search will fix a lot. Look for existing threads with camera issues.
Hint, this is generally caused by incorrect radio rom with OS.
Hi everyone,
I´ve used the search option and can´t really find anything which explains this. I´ve tried to install HTC camera cab and HTC Rhodium cab. However, when I start them up, camera doesn´t work. I cut and paste Xperia camera folder from Program Files to memory card or directly just move it temporarily to PC so that phone has no camera software. If I install HTC camera, it kind of starts up but can´t see anything you´re focusing on screen. You can take a pic and even see it on media files but you can´t see on screen what you´re focusing on. If I install Rhodium cab, it directly says "Cannot start camera app. Some files may be missing or certif hasn´t been approved" or something like that. Could someone tell me if I have to tweak anything in the registry when I install these HTC cabs?? I´m using original spanish generic SE rom (latest one released) and R3A Xperia camera driver. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Anyone...?
Are you using the cam drivers witch gives you auto flash and geo-tagging? If yes, why Rhodium cam? Whats better in that one ? If you dont have the CAB of X1 cam with geo-tag et auto flash, pm me and ill send it to you... Cuzz if you have these, there is no point of Rhodium cam...
Hi ElChe, thanks for respoding;
Yes, I´m úsing R3A camera driver, the one that gives you geotag, autoflash and 4x zoom. However, I´ve read on this forum that Rhodium camera is faster and quality is a little better. Don´t know if that´s true but I wanted to try the HTC camera which gives you 5 mpx option. On another forum I read that the quality is a little better than the normal X1 camera driver. Can any more light be shed on this...? I know there´s quite a few posts on this but I just find that the X1 camera leaves a little to be desired. Outdoor pics on sunny days are pretty good but shots taken on overcast/cloudy days are "fake" as hell. White balance is off (colours don´t look real) and overexposure is present in most pics. Also, when choosing Fine quality on pics, why is sharpness so exagerated? The outline of every object is ridiculously sharp. Not such a bad thing if white balance was right but it just feels that this camera module was rushed by HTC when they built the X1. Mind u, don´t know if it´s down to hardware or software when it comes down to the X1´s camera.
No one else know how to make them work properly?
Ho well... I didnt knew that... I use my cam alot so ill do my research too! there is some cooked roms with it build in already, sense roms... they have both cams installed... Ill check out if I can find something and if I do ill post it here...
Great! I´m simply curious to see quality on the HTC 5mpx option camera and on the Rhodium camera. I´m not too unhappy with X1 cam, I´ve snapped quite a lot of pics and like i said, outdoor pics on sunny days come out pretty good actually (even sharper than my former so-labelled Cybershot K800i). Lucky there´s an option on the phone to "autocorrect" pic when taken and also, Microsoft Picture Viewer´s option for autocorrecting white balance on outdoor pics is great as well (especially on this phone which overexposes some pics too much).
Hi there
I keep on getting a splash screen message on my Topaz saying HTC mesagge htc message v1.81.281.0
Does anybody know how to kill it for good? (it would be nice to avoid a full hard reset)
If you still want to use HTC messaging, try another version, you can find many on xda
heres one:

How you install 1.81 on your topaz? sorry for the OT
Yes... I'm curious about it too.
How did you get that?
