Hi,
When I'm making a call with my Kaiser using speaker on option, receiver can't hear me, sometimes it works but usually don't.
I have found on the web other people having the same problem with this phone.
Is there any solution for that ? Does anyone of you have this problem aswell ?
Your not alone! I get that same problem... if you find something out let me know. I thought I was the only one. I'm afraid to send my phone in because i'll get a refurb back and I don't like refurbs at all.
Hi:
You probably won't get a refurb, I think they must not have refurbs yet.
The reason I say this, is that I have had 3 Tilts so far, and STILL have the speaker issue. All 3 had the same white sticker as my new one(I believe the sticker color is what indicates whether it is a refurb or not, but don't shoot me if I'm wrong ).
Anyway, I have decided I just have to live with the dysfunctional speakerphone, because it's either that, or switch to another phone, which I can't do, since I love the Tilt
Some people have suggested that turning off Microphone AGC in system helps, but it did nothing for me.
PS: Please post here if anyone finds a solution to the speakerphone issue.
Same here
I have the same problem.. I realized it recently and it has been a huge disappointment.
Trying being on a work call. It's a disaster.
I have no idea what to do now?
i have the same thing all the units are not usable for speakerphone i dont know anyone that doesnt have the same problem

Ever try a non ATT rom? I bought my tilt and just flashed it without touching the AT&T stuff and it seems to work fine...

Honestly I am not very tech saavy, and am afraid to flash since it would void my warranty. For example, if I get the red light of death, and I have the wrong ROM on it, I'd be out of luck, and right now I am way too broke to take that chance lol.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hello people... I read all the stuff here and I start to:
1. install Hard SPL 3.56 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922 all went ok
2. I've proceed to Security Unlock from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361236 all went ok
3. I flash Dutty's rom and latest radio - all went ok

4. I read and proceed like here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568 but phone show on three screen HardSPL 3.56

My question is: CAN I SEND HIM NOW FOR WARRANY RETURN NOW ?

honestly, i dont think they care what the spl is as lng as the rom is the default rom. ive sent mine back for warranty by just flashing the stock at&t rom and they didnt even check the spl
This should have been posted under the existing thread for returning devices to their original state for warranty.
Short answer: Yes.
Thank you for your answer. Tomorrow I'll send the HTC TYTN II to the warranty return.
Not to sound funny...but I would smash it. lol I know it sounds like I'm being a smart ass, but I would.
Or what I have been told to, from someone tha works in an AT&T store.
"Just tell them you dropped it in a lake and you dont have it to return it."
Just make sure you have the phone turned off when you do that. They send a test out to that phone.

Eat me.
This is what I was told by a customer service representative of AT&T.
Please read before you quote and call someone out.
Zaf - you are fine you can take your phone back - best luck
mbarvian - hello ... some technicians are weirdos they dont look at SPL but some of them they particularly look for changes in its properties i was in my agnet last saturday and apparently all technicians now must validate ROM and SPL before taking the repair request! they just look for a reason to void our warranties... so it is recommended we revert our spls before going to agnets

Hey man... take it easy. I'm not trying to offend anyone here. You need to be a little more comical when suggesting someone drop their phone in water in order to facilitate getting a replacement device.
Now, speaking as someone who has been through 15+ warranty exchanges with AT&T/Cingular over the last 3 years, I'm gonna have to call BS on your original statement. One of the first things a representative asks you on the phone is: "Take a look under the battery. Is there a pink strip anywhere in the area?"
Here in romania they not change or repair your phone if you drop it, lose, steal, make underwater photos or whaever other stuuf like that.
They change or repair if you have problems without harm him.

lol Its cool bro. My B for going off. I thought i was putting a bit of comical spin on it. But the interwebs doesn't convey that very well.
Oh, and dude, thats a LOT of phones in 3 years. lol. I swear on my life the guy at the store told me to just tell them that its at the bottom of a lake and make sure the phone is tuned off. This way you dont have to turn in the phone. The reason the guy told me this is because I wanted to get a new battery for my smt5600 and it was going to cost more than the phone itself. Thats what they told me to do. So I dunno.
Anyway, im cool. I have no beef with you....that is unless you're going to bring some mashed potatoes and gravy...Oh, and tell me about this 'pink strip'. I've never heard of such a thing...llol I even pulled my battery to see if there was something there. Is it to tell if the phone go wet or somethng?

There is a white strip under the battery of all AT&T phones. It turns pink if exposed to water/moisture. The reps will try to trick people into admitting there is a pink strip because they don't mention that it's normally white. I always cut them off and say "no the phone has not gotten wet", before they can even finish the question.
Do you carry insurance on your phones? If so, then it doesn't matter what happens to it, they'll still replace it.

I will most likely send my phone back with a changed spl. My micro usb pin must be damaged since it will no longer be recognized by computers. There is no real way to revert back to normal, just the stock rom... and then reflash and take the battery out half way. I am hoping someone can verify this is no problem in the U.S. ? Thanks
Hey,
My phone's charging port broke. Like the actual phone charging part broke, not the adapter(obviously, lol).
Anyways, what can I do? I'm under warranty and am going to call them, but they say I shouldn't say what actually happened as the problem. I also have a different ROM than the ATT Rom, but can't change it back.
I'm also interested in the Fuze, but I doubt I can exchange for that? If I can, what do I need to do, but if not what should I say for a good excuse to get me a new phone?
Thanks a bunch guys
Lol..if your phones charging port's broken (I dunno how you managed to do that but oh well) its highly unlikely that you'll get it replaced under warranty. Warranty will replace things like faulty motherboards, manufacturing defects and the likes.....not physical damage. You can still try your luck at an explanation and hope it works. Try to leverage the Christmas spirit in on this one
The people at AT&T literally told me to call warranty, one told me to make-up something like it is dropping text messages /etc
Any idea if this works?

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
They said I should call the warranty people and lie to them, say that it was something else like a reception problem or something.
Does anyone have experience with this? Will it not work because when Is end in my phone it will be obvious the charging port broke? I am just looking for suggestions, thanks a lot guys

Sorry for this but yes I saw that thread. Many of them are talking about warranties and software problems. Generally if it is a hardware problem, warranty wouldn't fix it I thought. But the actual AT&T rep told me to lie and say it was dropping calls and they would send me a new one. So I was wondering a couple things after hearing this, as to what my best options are, should I use
1) Call and tell the truth
2) Call and make up something
--If I do and they take my word, what will happen when I send the phone in and the charger is broke? Could we say that possibly happened during shipping?
I'm just wondering if I have any choices other than buying a new $400 phone.
When you call, just say that the device is not synching or charging properly, and go from there.
If the USB port was not properly soldered to the motherboard in the first place, then it could break through no fault of your own. let HTC figure out.
Unless you did break it yourself by trting to jam the USB in upside down or something...

I really have no idea how it broke. It is just like one section of the thing you plug in. Like I didn't even notice it, because it still plugs in. It is just one of the prongs is deattached(but still right beside the others, thus it could still be plugged in) and the deattached one I can move around with my stylus.
ok, to make it easier to explain, I made a video. Sorry for talking so low.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypQBEARaw9E
I recorded that with my G1, the "broken" G1 is my brothers.
We have a serious problem, we cannot exchange it, we bought it last week and since we bought it has been having problems. We were going to take it to the store and then yesterday morning, it was like that, it was working "fine" at night. The problem is that we took it to the store, and the "dot" behind the battery is red, which "means" it got wet... but it didn't, I'm not going to lie, it didn't get wet my brother has taken care of that phone more than anything, it still has all the plastic protectors, even if the phone was acting really weird...
Ok ok, to the point. It doesn't do anything, as you saw in the video, when you press the power button the buttons flash until I depress it, and then they just stay on. The same happens when I try going into recovery, or bootloader modes, nothing... I decided to leave it like that for a few hours, nothing.
Either the device is bricked, the screen is damaged, or the whole device is screwed.... What do you guys think??
Thanks in advance.

Yes we did get it directly from a (official) T-Mobile store (not a 3rd party retailer).. we went there and they complained about the phone "getting wet"... the phone looks perfect and never gotten wet.

I am going to argue, I already started arguing by calling tmobile directly but they *****ed about why didnt i take the phone within the 14-day warranty if it was giving me issues and waited for this to happen....... they couldn't do anything, whatever, I'm going to try to take this further because, just like you, I can assure you my phone hasn't gotten wet.
Can you help me an send me a picture of your phone? So I could have some proof, my own phone's dot is white, and some other phones from friends/family are also white...
Thanks!
I've heard stories of that indicator turning red/pink when people have left the phone in the bathroom while showering... supposedly a lot of steam can turn it red.

Yeah they told me about this, and I actually *****ed my brother about this but he doesn't do this, I do, and my phone is fine. Anyways, he told me he just leaves the phone charging in the room while he showers...
So I had to get a new one by claiming the insurance ($130 deductible.....) there was no win for me here...... the only thing was that I was able to keep the damaged phone.
I called HTC to try and figure out how much it would be to fix it. The lady that answered the phone said the symptoms were like those of a bad motherboard, and she said it'd cost me around $475 to fix it, wait, what??.....
So, know, idk what to do with this crap. I might try to repair it.
Thanks anyways guys!

Ah, right. Tell you what... since I'm volunteering my time to trace the circuit and my phone works perfectly, there is nothing for me to gain out of this, so I'm not the one to be asking for money.
If you can't afford it yourself, might be a community thing, but hold off for a while, there is someone else I've been communicating with privately who may be sending a bricked board, if it works out, then I won't need yours.
Ill volunteer a bricked board

Find a broken G1 on eBay or CG and try repairing it yourself. Might run you under $100 to do this and it's probably a great learning experience...not to mention you could end up with another working G1.

I am having an issue with my standard htc one.
When i am on calls the person on the other end is saying that i sound very quite. I have had this with a couple of different people i have called.
The phone is a brand new replacement from o2.
I at first thought it was due to the case i have on the phone blocking the mic however having removed the case and tried another test call the problem is still there.
Any suggestions of what to try or why this is
anyone else had this?
thanks

Call your provider reps and get another new model...
Just had it replaced by o2 as the last one had a random vibrating and overheating issue.
Getting fed up with constantly having to change this one....seems to be one problem after another.

no completely stock
the phone was purchased on o2 contract by a friend who then didnt like it/get on with it so i bought it off him. The phone i received had an issue with random vibrating so he returned it for a brand new replacement.
All i have done is unlocked the phone (by code) so i can use it on my network which is 3
it would seem that the htc one seems to be plagued with a number of different issues and no sooner than you manage to sort one out by exchanging it you end up with another problem!
Its getting very frustrating as i so want to like this phone....the first phones i had (bought sim free) had issues with captive buttons and build quality which led me to change back to an iphone.
After a couple of months decided to try the htc one again in the hope that all the early issues were resolved and here we are again with yet different problems.
i had this issue too, i think its related to Radio and Firmware,
just flash 2.24 and see if it fixes it, if not try ARHD 12.1 (With Wipe)

glad its not just me then, was yours an o2 one also?
really hope it can be sorted by firmware....can you tell me which firmware yo put on yours please..a link would be great
im guessing i have to unlock the bootloader and put a recovery and root again? i did this with the last one to try and resolve the random vibrating issue however that turned out to be a hardware problem
I have read some issue about problems with the mics on the phone just wish there was a way to be sure before flashing just in case i have to send it to htc to get sorted...would rather avoid sending away though

just locked on my phone and it says the software is 2.24.206.1 so does this mean that it must be a hardware issue or is it still worth flashing something?
Hej, had the same problem and thought it would be the rom (cm-10.1-20130706-NIGHTLY-m7ul).
Well, it became apparent that it was the genuine HTC double flip case, who seemed to cover the micro just next to the micro usb connection.

thats why i thought it might be the case however the problem is the same with the case removed (poetic case) so dont think its that. I just dont want to unlock bootloader etc and risk messing up my return to htc if it is definatley a hardware issue.
Getting really annoying this now though as the rest of the phone is perfect, build, captive buttons, ear speaker etc
Yeah, seems to be a good idea not to mess around with roms while the device itself ain't running as it should.
Just had a look at the poetic case and the hole for the micro seems rather big, so it seems unlikely that this is the problem.
How about the hole being filled by like, dirt? Just had to think about my htc one. Sometimes the speaker grill is filled with some tobacco leftovers who float around in the same pocket as in which I put the phone. Even though it seems rather unlikely, no possibility should be left unregarded.

thanks again
i have considered the possibility of the mic hole being blocked although the phone is only a day old. I am pretty sure though that the phones supplied by o2 to replace faulty phones are actually reconditioned phones so it is possible that could be fluff or blocked, On looking it does seem that the hole for the mic is rather small and i am wondering if that in the machining process that maybe that holes is not opened up as much as it should be or is not clean....think i might try opening the hole abit using the sim ejecting tool or a pin. Just a bit concerned about the possibility of damaging the mic but then if it is faulty anyway then i guess i have nothing to lose.
will report back in a bit

glad its not just me then, was yours an o2 one also?
really hope it can be sorted by firmware....can you tell me which firmware yo put on yours please..a link would be great
im guessing i have to unlock the bootloader and put a recovery and root again? i did this with the last one to try and resolve the random vibrating issue however that turned out to be a hardware problem
I have read some issue about problems with the mics on the phone just wish there was a way to be sure before flashing just in case i have to send it to htc to get sorted...would rather avoid sending away though
thanks for the help

i had 2.19 running 4.1.2 then i upgraded to 4.2.2 and 2.24 ARHD 12.1, the Proximity sensor is fixed and call quality has been improved but sometime it gets bad.
as for O2, i am running M7 unlocked (international)
here is the Link, just flash this ROM (Firmware, Radio, and OS is included) "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023"
Ok so I have tried to make the Mic hole bigger/clean it out and and first couple of test calls it seemed it improved it. However it seems almost now like the problem is intermittent as other calls have shown the problem to still be there, this is really getting frustrating now.
Can it really be software related? Is there anymore conclusive tests I can do to help identify the problem.

BUMPPPP!
I got this problem all of a sudden
Did you solve the problem op?
I've isolated my problem to the bottom mic, cause recording videos is mainly fine (guessing it records only with one of the mics now though) and when I put it on speakerphone it works. However when I take a normal call, or use gnow it doesn not really register. When I really yell it comes through softly.
People on the other side of the phone can't hear me well, I have a feeling something's stuck in my mic port
Thanks
As no one is paying attention to the old thread I am seeking for a fix/solution to the white noise/static coming out of the speakers while the battery is below 40-45%
It's quite noticeable when watching youtube videos and having the volume around 10-20%. I've read that installing vipermod fixes the issues but not for me. I really don't want to RMA the phone as everything else is fine and i've also read that someone exchanged their phones 4-5 times and still has the problem. Does custom rom fix the problem? Is there any solution to the problem? Is it hardware or software related?

If there were a fix, I'm sure it would be posted and shared. So, unfortunately AFAIK, there's no fix.

I have noticed it with notification sounds only. I don't use the phone speakers often because I cast everything. Never bothered me enough to RMA though. I've had mine since November release.
Maybe i'll have to admit myself defeated by Google and Motorola then :crying:
Guys I am really torn, should I RMA the phone or have anyone found a solution? It reallys annoys me and I bought the phone for 500€ :/

Only solution at this point is RMA. Hopefully, you get one that works.

Yeah I also think that way...unfortunatley the repair center will try to "repair" it before giving me a new one. The problem is that the retailer does not sell nexus 6 anymore...

Contact Motorola directly. Return to them.

Motorola uses the same repair center the retailer use...living in Europe sucks. Motorla does not handle repairs, they let a third party handles repairs in Europe (at least for Sweden)
I know now that the issue is 99% a software issue. The problem does not occur when using the earpiece and taking a call. Even if the battery is 5%. But if I use the speakerphone I can hear a slight static noise but not as much when watching YouTube
I would really appreciate if someone with the same problem found a solution or workaround until Google sort their **** together
