KEYBOARD FIX for hardware keyboard mismatch (Wing / Herald QWERTY & AZERTY) [updated]

I have figured out how to fix the keyboard problem. I have created a Virtual Keymapping file, that will fix the mismatched keyboard between the Herald and the WING as well as AZERTY layouts.
I have repackaged the CAB to include the AEKMap software as well as the Keymap for the T-mobile WING & HTC Herald (Qwerty & Azerty) in the installation, so once you install this CAB, all the necessary files will be in place, and will automatically appear post install.
INSTALLATION
1- Connect to activesync
2- Copy duprade's CAB onto your phone
3- Using File Explorer, find duprade's CAB, and run it
4- Once installed, the AEKMap settings windows will appear.
5- In the first drop down menu, select the appropriate KEYMAP for your Wing or Herald
6- Click on LOAD NOW
7- Make sure RUN on Startup is Checked
8- Click on SAVE

It may ask you to soft reset, so go ahead and do so.
Once you're done, you'll have a full functioning WING hardware keyboard on any Herald Rom or vice versa.
PLEASE NOTE:
The only key that isn't mapped correctly, is the Internet Explorer key on the bottom right of the keyboard, and the reason being, that executable launching is only available for the Registered Version of the software, and in order to be able to give this out freely and since I repackaged the CAB, I was unable to map that button with the freeware version of AEK.

If you read the whole post original post, you would have seen where I covered this.
In order to bind that key to IE, everyone would have to get the paid version of the AEK software, but I figured it wasn't such a big deal and I never decide to suddenly launch IE when I'm in the middle of typing something... and if I do all of a sudden need to run IE, you can just click START and there you have it.
Once again, this forum has outdone itself. Great app, thanks for the fix.
I'm going to need a volunteer with a Herald to sit down with me a for a few min to get the keymap codes for the the Herald device, since they are different than the Wing.
EDIT : Nevermind, I just noticed that someone made one.

As hidavi pointed out, I made a correction to my post (12:48 my time) exactly 4 minutes after originally posting at 12:52 my time, which pointed out the fact that I had posted without having seen your post.... that you seem to have pointed out at 2:39 my time.... 2 hours after the fact. haha
but hey, I can understand that you wanted to throw your link out there again for everyone to see!
You could have just had asked me, and I would have made a cab file to include both keymappings in the installation.

The weather options must be set with using the touchsettings located in start menu\programs\touchflo. It will not work if you use the htc home weather setting.
Instructions how to upgrade is in the Touch-IT folder.
READ IT, If you dont, you will spend even more time infront of your computer flashing the official ruu before trying again, why waste time, use 1 min to read and understand.

IF you brick your phone (Brick=the phone can be used as a building brick, or maybe a paperweight? Because you cant start it up.) Its no others fault but your own.
Mainly the reason for bricking a phone is:
1. Not reading the instructions good enough
2. Not following the instructions.
3. Not having a RUU that can unbrick the phone (the official installer with the official rom for your specific phone, with your phones default language. In.ex if yu have a german phone by default, you need a german RUU, if not you will get invalid vendor error)
4. Not reading the instructions good enough..again
5. Not following the instructions...again
If you dont understand after reading CAREFULLY, then dont bother flash your device with this or any other rom.

Ok sorry to ask, I'm new to the Touch it thing, what do i do with os.nb? I downloaded it, hard reset the wing, even ran aserg policies.cab and soft reset it. Now what do I do? Usually there would be a batch file that I could run according to the famous newbs guide. I understand if you don't want to explain everything to each annoying newb such as myself, but i couldn't find any links anywhere. Help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you want. Thanks again.

I had the same problem until I killed my Push Mail. Now I my battery barely goes down. But if I start surfing, it starts dying quickly, so it must be something with the EDGE connection. (Although, I did change the amount of threads that PIE uses so that could account for the extra loss of power.)

how can i get rid of my push mail??
guys, doing anything on the phone that causes it to connect to something (satellite, bluetooth, etc.) is gonna drain the battery way more then letting it sit in standby.
so far over all the roms the most notable increase in battery drain for me has been when i overclock my phone.
DAMN! i wanna try this rom out but i just got touch~it2 all set up so i may wait till a stable release (also i prly won't have the time over the next couple days). if i do get a chance to flash your rom i'll let you know itje.

didnt you allready ask this in another post? its enough with one time, often there is reason why roms dont release, and there is reasons why I cant anwer every single question. why is that you might ask, think about it and im sure you understand.

the problem i'm having for the dialer is that if you install it. it would still show the original keypad, but it's not as visible.
I searched the forum and people had the same problem. lucky there was a solution but here's 2 new problems:
1. I want to be able to make a cab file for those reg entries so the numbers would disappear and for everything to work accordingly.
Seeing how i don't know how to make cab files for .reg files, i'm pretty much stuck.
2. also, i've heard you could just change the extension of .reg>.rgu? is that true? if not, should i go find a converter of some sort?
for the comm mgr, it overlaps another option, don't know why.
and for the htc touch audio mgr, if i put it on the rom, and try to use it, it never opens up.

1 and 2. Yes you can make a reg file into a rgu file, but you also have to make a DSM file to go with it and give it a proper name... Read this and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1645124&postcount=30. Especially the second link. The first one is just informative.
CommManager: There are other RGU's and PROXML or whatever in the ROM somewhere that are overwriting your settings. You can use Notepad++'s "search in files" to find it.
The Audio Manager, I don't know why... It works on my ROM.

Well i've seen some features in a rom for the htc touch.
I think the best thing is the startmenu upgrade. It is called LGPrada Menu

Well, I've tried the LGPrada Menu and it works, but the only problem is that many of the features that are listed are ones that I do not have installed like Office...
If I put it in there, it might look iffy and cause problems, but if you want, you can try my latest ROM in my signature.
It has pretty big storage so you can cab-install the LG Prada in there if needed.
This ROM is based on 23016 with no TF3D at all. It comes in two versions:
Lite:
Your basic HTC-MS apps for email, surfing, texting, media and basic tools.
Available Memory: Storage 316 MB | Program memory ~ 107-10 MB
Super lite:
Your basic function phone with mostly MS apps. There is no MP3 Player, Radio, or any other HTC app on besides a few visual enhancements.
No version has push internet, opera or Windows Live. You may download the cabs below.
This is a stripped ROM. If you are looking for my TF3D 2.X ROMs the newer ones will be out soon.
For more basic info on my ROMs, apps preconfigured for shortcut to be placed in proper folder, you may find it here. There is one RAR with some basic apps you may want.

Yes just have to fix a couple of small issues like what was mentioned above and there will be a 23016 version. From what I have heard this 6.5.1 isn't so bad.

Time Zone is easily done- if you have the "Windows Default" home running,
as is setting up email, adding browser favorites etc. etc.

you can always navigate to HKLM\System\GWE\cxVScr and set the bar width to 0. this will remove the vertical scroll bar from the entire system.
edit: did some looking around and found a cab that will remove the scroll bars from the dialer only and leave them in the rest of the system.

I guess the shortcut for Explorer did not make it in some how. For now download the exe version of resco so it self installs from PC then use it to copy the Explorer shortcut.
Since I do not have device to test I am providing my ROMs as is with no support so it is up to you to find the fixes for small problems.
I am not going to go crazy trying to find fixes for what's wrong with beta WM6.5 or anything else beta unless it is a glaring mistake by me.

you can always navigate to HKLM\System\GWE\cxVScr and set the bar width to 0. this will remove the vertical scroll bar from the entire system.
edit: did some looking around and found a cab that will remove the scroll bars from the dialer only and leave them in the rest of the system.

the cab only contains a modified phcanrc.dll so i don't think it does the same as advance config.

No I was being serious. I meant it like if it resizes nice with the 6.5.1 it will save me from answering so many questions as to why 2.5 is fitting nicely with the 6.5.1 builds. I appreciate the link and that's why it saved me lots of time.

Note that it still needs a little bit of polish, but it's good enough to post the first test version now
QuickGPS is installed but not in the start menu (you can run it from \windows) - reason is aGPS works great and QuickGPS xtra.bin download is not needed when aGPS is functioning.
Keyboard comes pre-configured for AT&T layout.
No connection is configured initially, autodataconfig will start first boot and configure AT&T connections properly.
There is no MMS software installed (you can install a cab of arcsoft, which works fine)
The zoom slider doesn't function properly at the moment, nor the microphone mute button on the back (seems some extra HTC software beyond drivers is responsible for these, i'll look into it and see if I can activate both without adding bloat)
I have left the expiration date and timebomb warning text on the desktop intact, search the registry for key "DeviceBeta" and delete it if you would like to remove the warning. I plan to have several more releases out by the time the timebomb comes near, so it should not be an issue.

My new tilt2 just arrived today and i finally head out to the rhodium forum to start locating a new rom for the new phone and what do i find a nice shiny new Da_G clean rom that was just posted today. my absolute favorite rom's...

Got a question to bounce off this thread as AT&T's quite a minority to other threads. Can I use any radio on any rom plus the AT&T aGPS registry settings cab made by Captain Throwback for the Fuze (or any phone) in order to get aGPS? Or does it have to be the AT&T radio? Tough for me to test living in a city so it would be nice if someone saved me from the adventure I had with the Fuze to get this question answered.
Also I'm not seeing a lot of rilphones lying around. Are recent non-AT&T roms packing the 4.49 rilphone or none at all and ... ahh nevermind just someone figure out the gps thing so I can settle it on my site.

The aGPS settings cab from t-back should work, you'll need a relatively recent rilphone and radio (probably all rhodium radios will do)
Run the HTCGPSTool app, hit open port, and look for it to connect your data and show $GPCELL in the window, if it does you're in business
gpsaux.dll service is required (part of quickgps), suplrootcert, and the registry entries.
Proximity Sensor, Rear mute button, and the other advanced in call features all look like they're dependant on the phone canvas, but i'm torn as to including that because it's pretty large and has a slight delay at ring-time.
Da_G...is it possible to cab up the phone canvas, so that it could be installed by those who desire those features?

TP2 section is hurting in that department. Iirc from the radio thread it's not installing as easy ad it was on the fuze...who knows.

Nice that we moved over to the Rhodium thread at about the same time. I was curious if you were planning on putting a kitchen up like you did for the Raphael? Even if you don't, your ROMS so closely resemble what I use that it doesn't matter much.

Hey Da_G,
Been using this since Saturday, and the only things that I've really noticed so far are:
- No comm manager (I need airplane mode)
- Settings | System | G-Sensor doesn't launch anything (not a huge issue, just weird)
- Sometimes when doing email (especially after replying, screen is stuck in landscape until you exit email)
- No X-Key or the like... Task Manager works, but is just not as convenient.
Look forward to the next release, and if you're willing to share the Kitchen again, I'll see if I can help port over some of the apps.
Stripped ROM
I'm very interested in a stripped ROM. No PIE, No Office, etc. I don't especially like IE8 or Opera. I like to install only the Software I want on the device.

Testing this now, Da_G is still my hero from the Blackjack 1 era. Maybe someone can spare my stupid self a lot of research, I'm only getting 3 wide icons in the start menu, even in landscape, is there a fix for that?

Those screenshots look irregular on my mobile as you see, I don't know why but you can see the difference with your screenshots. Maybe because of the language, from Cn to En. Anyhow, have a look pls.
I managed to find most of the programs of your ROM in En but you have to change some DLL because some programs like Efficasoft CeleTask are still in Cn even though I downloaded and installed En versions. Perhaps it takes some predefined values from the chinese dll or exe somewhere in \Windows.

maybe the issue is in the MUI files that come with the dll?
i have solved celetask and resco explorer installing my own cabs, and now they are in english (but they are A DUPLICATED SOFTWARES, not the same with english traslations, so i have to replace the links in start menu)
i see the issues on the advanced settings and menu or dpad selectors, but never find a cab for them, so i keep it as come ^^
some of those features are in the 6.5 rom for vox and excalibur (s710 and s630), maybe in that sections there are someone could help us?
Well, as I mentioned in the other discussion, I have a Vox with WM 6.5 from FireBurned. Just tell me how to implement those files in ccwav ROM because simply copy+paste doesn't work. It says it can't replace ROM files (whatevere is inside \Windows).

also the " Skyfire " (tested on my s730) works perfect
Skyfire sometimes shuts down unexpectedly on my S730. Otherwise, is a great browser. I prefer it over latest Opera. I like the start page

Even for me, the English Version works quite OK. I don't have any hang ups or what so ever. Except after one reboot, I didn't have WiFi at all. I had to reboot again to view my WiFi under Connection Manager.
One bug I see now, perhaps it existed earlier as well, on my second keyboard I can't use Caps Lock or Fn option. The two small led look inactive. Is anyone else experiencing this?

It`s means Only rom size is 256MB can use this Rom.
i just installed the test and it is lightning fast compared to alcalines rom.

Sometimes Wifi can't work.It`s seems the wifi driver bug in wm6.5 and I had try to fix it but fail.
