Isn't there splash screens out there where they are already been converted into a RUU (ready for flashing) opening it up with winrar and simply flashing it to your device????

I think he's referring to the initial boot screen tye, the first screen that shows after a SR. This splash has to be cooked into the rom. The other two splash screens can be changed by replacing files in the windows directory. One being animated.gif, and the other being welcomehead.96.png.

I looked in my windows directory and there is no welcomehead.96.png at all ....I added it with a picture and renamed it to that and rebooted and nothing ....just the same boot screeen........sorry I said splash....I ment boot .....sorry
Splash boot screens or animated gifs, they both have multiple links in the Kaiser wiki.

To change sprint startup animation go to: registry
HKLM\Software\HTC\Startupanimation
and point "GIFFile" to a GIF amination of your preference.
or you can replace to file SPCS_Startup.gif located in \windows
Your file name may be different, but the registry key should help you find it.
I am also pretty sure the image needs to be 480x640
and one last question, it didnt overwrite anything because it says there is no value for that key or whatever , i know this is the reg destination

I've been using this since about June, but I have a cab that has the windows 7 startup sound too, does this one have it? I'll attach it in a second

anybody got the welcomehead.192.png to go along with this? I used to have a zip of both but deleted it somewhere along the line. The png was the last frame of the animated.gif file.

As far as i remember it is inside one of the dll files, i think it is shellres.dll

search in /windows folder for bubble_flag.png if you have just modify it with PS or any other image editor, or just fing the icon you like (png format) and rename it as bubble_flag.png and copy to windows folder. Please keep a safety copy of the original. And you can try others bubble_***.png ...

This is tweaked with most of the information from the Captivate (example: Hummingbird Processor and 512MB RAM).
I know there are multiple ways of installing this, but the way I do it is to save it to a location on your SD card and then use Root Explorer to copy it into your system-media folder. (back up your original bootanimation.zip first!)
I am not responsible for any damage you may do to your phone by using this, but it does work on my phone

Also just opened the zip file and found that you've managed to strip the file type from the images so they wont open in the device, have had to open them with IfranView which converts them back to .jpg's.

Thanks for letting me know, it turns out the program I used to rename them removed the file extension... (I'm on a mac) -_-
