Hello,
I've installed several roms Duty's, Shap's and HTC original.
I'm setting up a proxy on connection settings.
Every time i turn on Wifi it erases my proxy settings!!
Is there someone with the same problem?
Thanks.
Known problem unfortunately and I have not been able to find a fix up until now - although I think today I might have cracked it.
I will report back when I've thoroughly tested.
Same problem here. The SOCKS server stays however, or at least it comes up by itself!
Opera used to support a separate proxy but now it doesn't. So a fix is needed for mostly anything to work.

There are two cabs on dutty's Kaiser cab collection that i don't no if they related with
this problem! They are name removeHiddenProxy4CWS_0522.cab and restoreHiddenProxy4CWS_0522.cab.
Can someone tell us what are they for?

Thanks...
I've installed the latest roms provided by Alex and the official HTC roms. All of them have the same problem!!! This is really a crap. For me it's a bigger problem then driver's.
you may try ProxyOn.cab in this site (search it)

Hi,
I am having trouble installing Fring on the latest Dutty Rom. Has anybody else experienced this problem?
I install the cab to either memory or storage and it still does the same thing... It just loads the splash screen up and hangs there?
I contacted fring about this problem and they replied with the following:
"Hello Colin,
Thank you for contacting our support team.
We are aware of the issue and working to solve it in the near future.
Make sure to check our blog for version updates http://www.fring.com/blog
Please feel free to contact us again should you have any further queries.
Thank you,

I see alot of people on this forum using Fring and I was just wondering how they went around installing it?
Thanks,
Colin Jensen
Worked fine for me on Dutty's V3 - I installed it and ran it with wi-fi turned off and was surprised that it automatically turned wi-fi on to connect.
Same here
Yeah, I got the same problem on my phone. I have had Fring on my before but it was acting buggy so I uninstalled it and looked for the newer version of it and tried installing it but I install it and like you said the splash screen comes up and just hangs.
Did you ever get it to work? I see that this is an old thread.

I had the same problem on my phone when I installed for a brief period of time last week. I ended up uninstalling......
i have installed the cab on a number of ROMS, never had any issue..
official tilt 6.0 rom didn't work, q mobile 1.2 rom didn't work...official tilt 6.1 rom, @ least it actually opens now (no more error screen) but doesn't get past loading. 3 roms, still haven't been able to get it working over here.
yep, confirmed, same problem, multiple roms, multiple ways of installing, multiple connections when opening program, Fring is still just stuck on the splash screen that says "Fring is loading" I had it working at one point in my Kaiser's life but nothing now seems to revive it, been trying for months, there are no fixes that I have seen online. Any good alternatives?
No problem so far.....
been using it for over 1month now....
installing and uninstalling for more than 8times
i justgot my kaiser....thats why with all thecustomization....
am using a russian Wm6.1 rom
I have the same issue
I tried every known fix that can be googled... I also contacted Fring... no help. It seems to be a huge problem with the 6.1 Roms. Someone here should have a fix...
Nope, it's fring's job to get it right, not much we can do... and they unfortunately dont seem to care much about WM6.1 users given the number of reports they've had for weeks/months about the problem and their everlasting "we're gonna investigate it" answer.

Yep, they just released a new version that works.
Language settings
I've the same problem with Fring that I've with google map.
My PPC regional settings are set to China, since it's the olny way to display chinese caracters everywhere in the OS (notice the OS is in English).
But, fring's language (like google map) is choosen according to those settings... it's very annoying.
Does anybody if there is a way to disable this feature (registry hack...) ?
Thanks,
Fring on kaiser
i just installed fring on my kaiser im using duttys_wm6.1 hybrid v2 and dont have a problem with it. it loaded up properly and everything seems to be working. my only thought is maybe a high amount of cpu usage, (programs that are running from start-up?) that is slowing everything down and causing the app to hang of freeze. thats just my thought. im probably wrong. anytime i have an issue with any kind of app freezing of not starting up thats usually were i look first. i hope that this helps. if not im sorry and at least i tried.

Hi group,
I have the problem, that I cannot save my HTTP proxy settings permanently. Up to now I thought it was related to my T-Mobile brand, but after a firmware upgrade I found, that this must be a problem of the HTC itself. I'm now back on HTC original firmware, and still unable to keep the HTTP proxy settings saved. After hitting OK everything seems to be OK, but with the next opening of the settings the HTTP proxy setting is lost from the connection.
I should have googled before updating: The Google query "HTC proxy" brings tons of unresolved similar problem descriptions.
I have searched this forum but didn't find anything about this.
Is this a known problem? Is there a fix? Will WM 6.1 be a solution?
Regards
Ohh I get the same problem. I don't bother with the wifi connection that requires the proxy settings and just use HSDPA now. Running wm6.1, will give it a go on monday to see if 6.1 fixes the problem.
Hi stevierg,
no it doesn't unfortunately. I flashed dutty's WM6.1. The only change: The setting is kept under some circuumstances (WiFi adapter is connecting to "the work"), but is now not recognized at all... The internet access simply doesn't care...
It is rediculous: MS has - from the very first PDA version - that brain sick "The Work/The Internet" split up and they don't get a simple proxy configuration cooked, even in version 6.1. Unbelievable...
On the other hand - I tend to believe, that it must have to do with the specialilities of the HTC rom. I've got an ASUS device with WM6 too, and there is no such a problem...
Strange
Possibly found a solution

Hi all. I have the Telus CDMA version of the HTC Touch Diamond. Because telus wants to sell everyone their telus navigator, they've had it and google maps removed on their custom version of the ROM!
So I have a request for the team here: does anyone have a cab version of quickgps that will work for the diamond? I have seen many other posts on this site that have cab files/rars of the necissary files for other phones, but they don't work for the telus diamond, I get the following error when i try to run the program:
"the file 'quickgps' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
I got the files i tried to use from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...9&d=1209308371
This is still an unsolved problem based on these posts:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2446429
the above files have worked for some: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=27312&highlight=quickgps+with+patch
but they dont work the the telus diamond. Is anyone willing to offer help/suggestions/extracted files for quick gps including necissary drivers?
Your help is greatly appreciated,
Iddoc
I can't guarantee that it'll work but it's worth a shot; try the cab in my signature.
Solved it by looking here...
Hi. Thanks for the suggestion, I didn't get a chance to try your cab file however. I found the answer to the problem, at least for telus branded HTC touch devices on this page:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35592
I havn't tried any of the custom cooked roms, I just went down to the sticky post, under GPS and installed the cab file- it changes some registry settings that now allow the GPS to get a fix in less then 5 seconds.
Hope this is helpful to someone else.

I had the same problem and couldnt find anything on the subject until now..
QuickGPS still doesnt work for the Telus diamond but that doesnt matter anymore, those registry tweaks are 1000x better than QuickGPS and now aGPS actually works! No need to download updates or any of that crap to get a quick TTFF
I went on my balcony which would normally take 3 minutes to fix and not only did it fix in under 10 seconds.. but I instantly got full signal strength.
Thank you for posting this resource for the Telus diamond. It is very very helpful and I hope many other Telus diamond owners are able to find it as well.
..Now excuse me while I uninstall QuickGPS.
Cheers man, great info!
EDIT: Holy ****! Now I even get a fix indoors! 4/5 bars with TT7!!
... Not that is really means alot, but its a very nice bonus.

As a fellow Telus HTC DIamond user... big thanks for posting this. GPS signal used to take forever (over 5 mins). now i get pick up in a few seconds indoors!
Did you simply run the cab, or you also followed this 13-steps process described there (looks dangerous ) ?
Also interesting to know which registry keys this cab changes/adds/removes
Hey Guys,
I've just reflashed my phone today. Before I did this, any application that needed a connection could connect without any issue. Now, only certain ones can initiate the connection. This is probably a simple fix, but for the life of me I can't remember what I did to fix it the last time. I've searched here and the Wiki but no luck finding the answer again. I've used Advanced Config and Kaiser Tweak, thinking the setting might be in one of those but it isn't.
Can someone help me with this? I think it might have been a registry tweak.
Thanks!
Matt
I just unlocked and flash my sprint touch diamond with MightRom wm6.5 and I must say its pretty sweet. The only problem that i have is indicated in the title. I use google maps and in 6.1 i used to go to menu and hit gps and it would get gps and give me my location. But after the update it just keeps searching for a gps signal and can never find one. Any thoughts?
Also i tried googling it and looking through multiple forums and the only thing ive come up with is people that have verison say that you have to turn location on in settings but i dont know how to do that...and im not sure if this applies to me or not.
thanks

I have searched ppcgeeks and cannot find a solution. A few users are experiencing the same problem with MightyRom6. I tried to enable GPSone settings in QPST with no luck. Any help?

Yes, go to settings and make sure location is set to On. You could also enable AssistedGPS in the registry with a 32KB log file to help.
If you have QuickGPS installed then use it. If Mighty excluded it then I suggest you get it.
Also, did you change radio's when you upgraded? If so you may need to flash back to the radio version you had before. Make sure you have the latest PRL update as well.
