quick question... surely this can be done?!... - Off-topic

Hey - very off topic post here...
I'm wondering if on xp - you can link an icon or a shortcut to the F keys?
So, when I click on the icon it activates F8...
Basicly - I'm turning my old XP computer with a touch screen interface into something a bit more finger friendly and would like to open the osx style dashboard (currently activated by hitting F8) with an icon.
Cheers - Big hugs to anyone who can help!

Missed the icon to rotate screen

Hi !
I've just done a soft-reset with my 2020i and now I don't see the icon for rotating screen (right bottom of the screen)
I don't know what to do then I ask you if is possible to restore this element without hard reset.
Thanks in advance
The rotate icon dissapears on mine often too, usually a soft reset fixes it but i dont use it too often because i find it to be buggy.
Try mapping a button to the rotate function.
The bubble problem is common too, sometimes it decides to stay at the top when it is suposed to disapear, ive even seen it display ?????????? when you click on it.
End of the day i think there just OS bugs, nothing much to cure it atm
Thanks guys for your replies.
So I have uninstalled IP Dashboard Monitor (the last software I have installed before getting the problem) and after a soft-rest my rotate screen icon was showed in the tray.
Now I know. If you install that software your icon will miss.
About the bubble, I also think it's probably a bug
Thank you again
I found that SPB Diary and All phone profile sofware (ie, Pocket Zen Phone,Phone Alarm and Pocket Profiles) Disable the Screen Rotation Icon.
Also Sometimes SPB Weather when installed to MMC or Storage, when installed to Phone memory works OK.
I had this problem, it's actually to do with the Today Screen items not initialising quick enough. Search this site for NoPluginsToday and follow the instructions, I don't have them to hand but I found the solution on here and now I have all my icons back in the task bar.
Daz
Lost Today item....Message !
can anyone export the today item's "message" !
don't know why suddenly the Message lost in the today plug-in !
anyone ?
One more time, I miss the icon again and this time the cause is TomTom Navigator 5.
Now I think this is a BIG bug of qtek 2020i, why I miss the icon ? :?
Is there a way to create a shortcut to screen rotation function ?
Thanks guys.

tweak for WM6 tray bar , icons for programs running

Hello
I have a today plug in which I want to position direct at the bottom of my today screen. direct above the soft key names.
But I can't move the plug in fully down because I have the icons in the tray bar for PI and Bandswitch .
Does anybody has an idea how to prevent running apps to display a icon on the today screen .. is there a tweak or registry setting ?
Thanks freecall
In BS you can swich it on/off I think PI have the possebility.
I have a similar query in that I have a BB icon at the bottom to show Blackberry service is running. Id like to know how to get rid of that too.

Sliding panels is only for smartphones, NOT touch screens. Your HTC Kaiser is Windows Mobile Professional - it has a touch screen - therefore it does NOT support Sliding Panels.
There are other apps available - try searching for Ultimate Launcher.

Hi, I gues if there is a task switcher to move from one opened apps to another without going to the home key... liche with the little drop down you have in the top right corner. Maybe I can access it even when it's not displayed but I don't know how...

There is a really nice one with SPB Pocket Plus, but it is not free. It looks a lot like the alt-tab switcher in windows XP

Do you use it? Have you mapped it onto a hardware button?
(if so, how?!)
This tool was so useful for me on my Prophet... indeed it felt so integrated I forgot it wasn't part of the OS and was taken aback when I suddenly found it missing on the Diamond!

Hmm this one combined with the G sensor could be really nice
taski switcher - task manager
I'd rather prefer a task switcher - task manager like xperia panels (or like aspecto software's dynamo 2) with ehanced graphics and nice 3d view...
Would it be possible on diamond? anyone can develop something like that?
Cheers
The best task manager (IMHO) is without a doubt WKtask:
http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
Works just like windows then.. can switch between running apps quickly and easily with a single touch.

but only if you have the task bar in view.
ex: if you are in navigation full mode, then you haven't a taskbar. so how do you want to switch with obe single click ?
i use searching for a small tool which switch to all tasks with a hardware button - so it had to be a single programm which switch - it is not necessary to show windows, blabla, ---- only switch ...
if i found a perfect tool or another one guy - let me know - thanks

The Alt-Tab feature of SPB Pocket Plus will be right up your street...
...however you may find it is a dead end thanks to the Diamond's dire hardware button facilities... not only there not that many of them but tapping into them appears to be full of troubles!
Mathew
spb plus - alt-tab also not working corect - it switch sometimes in different directions to the task
it's like
Task A,B,C,D,E
1.) first press A
if you press then in the short time next the hardware button then it's switch to B, C, aso
but if you wait 2 sec. then it's switching from C -> B -> A -> E
it's a little bit crazy
PLS: i talk about the "switch to next task" -> because this is almost perfect (relly fast, but wrong/serious directions)

[Q] Glowing light in Summary Box of Task Manager

Hi - Here is a Noob question - since I switched from Android 2.1 to 2.2.1 I noticed there is glowing light at the right hand edge of the Summary Box of the Task Manager (Active/Application/Ram/Summary) - either in portrait or landscape mode. Tried to search the web for answers the last few days without success. Any ideas what it means? Thanks in advance - Rog.
Hi,
The glow in the right hand side indicates that more options are hidden to the right.
Just slide the options to the left and you will get a 'help' menu. hope you find the info. useful.
Thanks
Pranay
Hi Pranay,
Many thanks for your quick clarification - it certainly gave me a great peace of mind. Cheers - Rog.
