I've just done a review of the HTC Kaiser (O2 XDA Stellar)
Looking for some feedback - What else should I include? Any ideas to help flesh it out a little? Anything you don't agree with?

Big thanks to this site as it has made using my Kaiser an enjoyable experience!!!

Please don't take this the wrong way but is this a joke or have you made a mistake as the link url results in nothing.
Oooops
Your dead right. Apologies - link is now fixed!

Nice site, nice video's, I like it!
You do realise you will get swamped with a certain vociferous lobby don't you?
Keep on top of it guy...
Interesting!
One thing you might like to add (and know yourself) is that the latest version of Google Maps should allow enough time to get a GPS fix from a cold start, without the need for any other apps. It works fine for me anyway.

Just tried using G-maps here for the first time, normally use Garmin.
Very impressed, as you say, G-Maps does not seem to utilise Quick-GPS for a fast lock but once locked, it is totally weird to watch a photographic image of the roads you are on, even if they are a couple of years old (I can live with that!!).

does anyone know of a good vnc client for the t-mobile wing??? any direction would be great... thanks in advance...
bennie
by the way, im looking for a freeware client...
::EDIT::
sorry for the double post... i thought it would auto-merge...
I Googled for "Pocket VNC" and this - http://dotnetvnc.sourceforge.net/ - was the second or third result.....looks like it'll do the job...and it's free....
(There's plenty of other alternatives returned by the above search; you might want to investigate some of those too? And if you find something that rocks, post back so the rest of us can share your findings )
Mark.
i searched in the past and downloaded a few that i wasn't particularly impressed with... i guess i should have clarified my question a little more...
i did find this one after digging a little more...

Yeah, I spotted that one, but as no-one's touched it for 4 years I figured it wouldn't be up to much - the site doesn't mention WM5, let alone WM6 so I reckon it'd be pretty shaky....YMMV
I'm sure there's loads of VNC clients around for Smartphone/PPC - everybody and his dog has done a version for Windows (and I've even used a version on HP OpenVMS )
Mark.
its working just fine... in fact, i tried a few others that didn't allow me to use my keyboard and/or mouse to take control of the host... this one does all of the things that the newer ones didn't... im very pleased thus far...

Just to make sure, does the Map appear when the program is initialized, if not then thats your issue, GPS Location cannot be determined if there is no DATA (Map) to locate it.
Thanks, Ozgur

tom tom v6
Any suggestion?
I dropped my V1615 (tytn II) in the river (damn), have replaced with a htc diamond.
Tried to install the TT 6 that came with the tytn and error message says need a newer version of cab.
HTC and tom tom both say not compatible and and need TT v7 - not available + ive not long bought V6. Also seems to be plenty of people using v6 out there without problems
Dont really know what to do now?

Hi, blah81
Seems to me that a lot of TOMTOM 6 users are having issues! But doesn't matter Its usually a simple tweak, but i will post (attached) a CAB for version 7 and later versions of 6, one of them should sort the issue!!
Thanks and good luck!

TOMTOM 7 / 6 Updated
Here you go blah81!

By the way: Any one else can download
Oh yeah, heres the download link for TOMTOM 7, as i could not post it (12MB) don't worry its perfectly legal, no warez, and the source is safe as its my site and i just uploaded it.
TOMTOM 6 is included!
All in need of TOMTOM CAB
For some reason i could not upload the cabs onto an attachment. Oh well. I have uploaded them to an alternate host and like i said its perfectly legal, no warez and completely virus, trojan, spyware free, i just this second (well literally posted it. If this does not work (blah81) i will look into this matter.
Good luck, and have a great evening

I can't get Microsoft Voice COmmand to work. All i get is the "dink" with no microphone symbol. Its the commercial version which I purchased and downloaded tonight.

Damn it! Everyone want sleep
Of course mate, I look forward to any ideas you might have when you get time
I purchased an unlocked Ty tn II and can't get it to do what I want. ie 10 sleep mode won't go away, etc, etc.. It's taking too much of my time to trouble shoot. I live in Evanston, Illinois and wondering if anyone wants to help me. I prefer some that is a senor contributor here has the same phone and already knows what to do. Thanks. Steve
For being so picky as to who helps you, I sure hope you are willing to pay them . . . . .
You would be extremely surprised as to how much "Non-Senior" members know about our devices
Anyway, goodluck and have fun here on XDA. Just remember to ALWAYS use the search button in this forum.
I can tell you that HTC just released an update for the KAISER/TILT on their site. This has to deal with the issue of the power settings not staying where they should be at. Check it out at HTC America under product support and then under TILT. This may help...

WTF???
This site is called "XDA DEVELOPERS", not "XDA spoon-feed those to busy, lazy or stupid to work things out for themselves".
How come noobs are getting worse or lazier? There now seem to be a few of these "I want someone else to do it for me" threads. I guess I now know where the sacked Lehman Brothers employees have gone.

WOW!!! What a nice first post, you really contributed by starting this thread. When I first started here I was scared about flashing. But I read and figured it out on MY OWN, such as life.
Mea Culpa-- Still would like programing assistance
I want to apologize to anyone I've offended by my post. I have been reading this site for some time now. I am in awe of the things that many of you have been able to accomplish with these phones and the programing. It is amazing. My complements to all contributors and inquirers alike, I find both helpful.
However my area of expertise is not in programing such phones. Just as clients come to me for marketing services, I too was willing to pay for some programing expertise. In these tough economic times, I thought it would be a welcomed opportunity. And yes, I am willing to try anyone that knows what they are doing, e.g. junior or senior contributor.
I did read about the Tilt upgrade thank you, but I read on the ATT site that it wasn't working. Additionally, when I go to the download screen at HTC the download button is not on my computer screen. I can see it in the print preview, but not on the screen. I installed Kaiser tweaks and that didn't do it either.
So, I gave it a good first shot, and not that I am throwing in the towel, but it seems to me a great opportunity for the right person. I don't just want to fix the current problems, I want to keep going and install some of these great programs and perhaps a new OS. Take care and keep up the good work.
Chicago Developer Wanted to Fix tytn II
Please send private message if you would like to fix my phone as previously posted in this thread. Will donate or pay outright to fix and update to latest ROM.
Thanks.

See the problem with what you're saying is...... YOU! Amazing huh? Why not reconsider the fact that not all of us are as "Tech Savy" as you... and not nearly as ignorant. Also, let's consider that he came to a DEVELOPER FORUM for help. You know the place where people trade ideas and software. So, let's all take a quick life lesson from this... If you don't have anything useful to provide, leave it alone. Just because we're 12 and Mommy and Daddy bought us a nice little PC and a cool phone and are too negligent to pay attention to the Bovine Fecal Matter that the little "Monkey" has managed to spread on the internet, doesn't mean the rest of the world wishes to hear your ignorance.
Now, Numb Nuts over here was right about one thing... Google. Search google for "SNES" "NES". The best I've found is PocketNester but it doesn't support Landscape mode which is a little disappointing. (Mario Bros looks awful in Portrait haha)
Second do a search for some of you're favorite games and save all of this in a folder on you're comp.
Using the Date Cable out of the box you can do one of two things.
First plug in the cable and either select Active Sync or Disk Drive.
Disk Drive is a little more convenient but only works with a MicroSD inserted.
Disk Drive - Drag and drop your folder of games on to the phone.
Active Sync - Once its connected, select Tools - Explore Pocket PC on your comp and Drag and Drop directly in to the phone.
Unplug and Navigate to the File Explorer. (Start-Programs-Tools- File Explorer) Select the Nester Cab and install it to the device. Open the Nester Program and the rest should be self explanatory from there.
Good Luck.
Does anyone have any suggestion for a way to control emulators? The keyboard gets the job done, but it's far from great, any suggestions for an external controller? Someone in another thread mentioned using a PS3 controller over bluetooth as a possibility, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't been done yet.

Ok, the operational/usable emulators I have working:
PocketNESter Plus - this version was made specifically for the Dash and other landscape screens. Works perfectly on every HTC I've owned 'cept the G1 (for obvious reasons). I'm using it on an excalibur, a tilt, and a raphael as we speak.
PocketSNES: this one takes too much horsepower for the Excalibur, but the others run it fine..one problem here is that I've been unable to get sound working as of yet..tho this is really a minor problem for most games.
I'll be trying more soon

Sorry my friend, I've tried every form of control I can think of and only the keyboard is truly usable. It takes some getting used to, but you'll get it.
oh i see what about picodrive?
Look the creator of this post does have some good reasons to aliens a better emulator. I was able to run pocketnester however I was not able to get pocketSNES to run on my Raphael. I tried for about 5 hours to find a vga compatible snes. I found many links to vga emulators, N0p and Tila builds, however those links were down. The pocketsnes emulator developers website is down. I found one build called SNES9x for PPC Ver .41. This ran Chrono Trigger pretty well with sound. However this program has no onscreen game pad and does not register my hardware buttons. However there is a fix that makes your wm6 run or emulate an older hardware keyboard setting. So the real question would be does anyone have a working vga snes? If you got the original PocketSNES to work that would be passable. I was hoping to get the OpenGL version. I googled and googled.
yea i tried downloading pocketnester but for some reason it would not find my roms or load them up its kinda confusing

oy mate! did u even read my post? use the search option there are at least ten threads about this that explain what works and what doesn't and the reason why. hell just seach with my username ive post in a few of them with some of the stuff ive used attached. im not doing this to flame you im just tired of reading the same posts over and over again from ppl too lazy read the rest of threads on this subject.
lol. mistaken post.
Since the latest question on this in the forum was back in 2016, and it was not answered, I open a new thread.
I can pair my TP with OSX, and ask for Bluetooth to send a file to the TP. But it fails, fails and fails again.
It would be nice, as I do this all the time with my phone.
If there's something I need to do, please say; or install, please say. Thanks so much.

HP-TOUCHPAD, I should just figure out where you live, buy your neighbor out, and live next door. But such a move will mean we talk about nothing else but TP. This cannot be healthy. But you get my point: I cannot even begin to describe how helpful you have been to me. To be honest, after installing Google, I've never used it. Always using F-Droid. So, I will look there first and see, if not, then fire up Google. Thanks, thanks, ever so much!:good::highfive::victory:

...as I don't have the money to support them in their Pro Version, I feel the need to come here and HEAP, HEAP, HEAP praises on them for this GREAT, GREAT, GREAT app! I even tried to mess it up by selecting more than one file, it uploaded them all quickly to my TP. Wow! One more reason why I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my TP. Did I mention that reading in the sun is such a bliss!? Well, it is. A slight tilt sometimes and I can clearly see. Most times, that's not necessary. Great product. And great big social-distancing hugs to @HP-TOUCHPAD for supporting me to get this working. Thanks a lot @HP-TOUCHPAD and to others making this a great space.
