I'm having a problem where any time I use the key "i" or "I"--whether using the slide-out keyboard, the virtual keyboard, or a Bluetooth keyboard--the Wing freezes up completely, requiring a reset.
Any solutions?
I had the same problem for the last week.
I cannot send any sms anymore.
Really want a solution....
what rom are you running?
Key Bug
Just what it came with.
I also have a problem where the wing dials the number 2 or the letter u by itself. any time and any rom , even during a phone call or at the today screen... any suggestions?
This is a serious WM6 bug, im suffering it too on my HTC touch.
Try a hard reset ... or running the stock RUU.
or better yet, flash a new rom.

im having a problem with my tilt lately. for the most part it is still functioning but some of the keys just dont respond right away. i used to text really fast but this is getting annoying. problem keys are the l, n, fn, and t. i have to press those keys a few times before they respond. i used to think it was lagging but nothing shows up after a few seconds of waiting. autocorrect and x9 are disabled. is there a fix for this? im still on the newest update of the ATT rom.
Try switching to a custom cooked rom. WM6.1 with a larger pagefile helps a bit
Mines been doing this for a little while too and im using ROMeOS latest.
try downloading the latest advanedconfig (3.0) and disable the word suggestion
word suggestion is disabled. im thinking about trying to flash my tilt but dont think ive read enough to be confident i wont brick it.
My Kaiser just got crazy while I was replying a SMS using the keyboard.
It suddenly started to type numbers on its own. Since then, no way to use the phone any more. It looks like only numbers are typed but I am not sure.
Soft reset, hard reset do not work. Only the turn-on button works. Keyboard slided in or out does not make any difference. The only way to turn it off is to remove the battery.
Before opening and trying to find the problem by myself, I would like to know if anyone has experienced this before.
I don't have the original ROM, so I cannot send it to HTC for repair until I can flash back the original ROM !

I have the sam effect on my >Samsung Galaxy note 2 GT-N7100 but have nos olution.
it drives me crazy what coukd it be i have the latest official Android 4.4.2 updated
I have an At&T Tilt. the phone worked absolutely fine until I decided to do the 6.1 upgrade on it. Now the phone reboots itself on it's own. Let me clarify that statement. It shuts the phone off, then I have to power it back on. Sometimes a few times in a row. It will do it when I am talking on the phone, using my GPS or browsing the mobile web. It doesn't discriminate. Has anyone else had this problem? These are the versions I have on my phone... am I missing an update somewhere or is this something I have to live with? Thanks for your help.
R 1.65.21.18
G 25.88.40.05H
D 3.57.00.00
l haven't had any problems like that. I just switched back everything on my phone to stock . but than again i went all the way back to wm6 ... lol
If your phone is still under warranty just get an exchange or try reflashing the rom upgrade and see if that fixes your problem.
also on a note: did you remember to hard reset your phone after upgrade?
upgrade
I will try to re-install the upgrade. I did do a hard reset afterwards the first time. It's pretty annoying for my wife (amusing to me) when she calls and our call drops in the middle of our conversation. Hopefully the reinstall will fix this. I'll keep you posted.
Did this get resolved? I am having the same issues...
I am having this issue on 2 phones. One was a 6.0 tilt that I upgraded (and hard reset after). The other is a 6.1 phone that I was sent from At&t after an RMA. They both reboot 5-10 times a day, or sometimes they turn off and won't come back until I plug them in. Any ideas?
One more thing to add here. Did you install a WM6.1 ROM or did you install a ROM/Radio Combo?
Just note that 6.0 radios will never play nice with 6.1 roms
Also, what spl are you using ? Stock oem?
by any chance do u have a memory card in the device. if so remove it and use the reset button to boot it. this may very solve the problem. I've experienced it
My tilt did this also. I found that it was due to HTC home customizer. It took about 20 hard resets to figure it out tho. After installin HHC the phone would reboot over and over again. I reinstalled everything over except for HHC and working fine now.
I just got my Xperia 2 days back and i found the following issues.
1. When writing sms either by stylus or by hard keyboard, it feels like X1 is hang or no response for about 2 secs. This happens almost 75% of the time.
2. If SMS send notification is on, upon receiving this notification X1 is hang or no response for few seconds. However it can be avoided by turning off this feature.
3. Signal strength is very weak compared to HTC Diamond or any other phones.
I even did a Hard Reset. My ROM=1.02.931.3 and RADIO=1.06.25.29
Does anyone have these problems? Is there any known cure?
Yup mine is the same. Exact same ROM and Radio with exact same problem. Guess we just have to flash one new ROM to solve this issue.
Looks like something went sideways while setting up your ROM. I recommend you both to back up your current settings (contacts, text messages, emails etc.) and hard-reset it. If you don't know how:
1) Turn off your device
2) Hold both buttons underneath the screen down
3) While holding the two buttons, turn your phone on
4) You will end up in a white reset-screen, follow the onscreen instructions, using the slide-out HW keyboard
Your phone will reset and restart configurating like you did first time you booted it up.
If the problem persists after that, you could indeed try flashing a ROM, but if your phone doesn't work out of the box, I would send it back myself - just to be sure it isn't a hardware issue.
Yes. Same Rom. Same Radio. Same Issues. Hard Reset Twice. Still same. No Improvement.

No you do not need to reinstall the softwares that came with your phone. Only the additional softwares that you installed will need to be reinstalled again
Same ROM and SAME PROBLEMS for me !!
This ROM was the very first released retail ROM, maybe a ROM update could help
On the meantime I have disabled SMS SENT notifications with XperiaTweak V2 but I still have the key-lag when starting to write SMS msgs
And yes: Problem persists afer hard-reset
PLEASE REMEMBER: this is the first ROM of a very first breed of SONY devices. Bugs are there... like it or not... I guess SONY will release a fine-tuned ROM upgrade soon (VERY soon...) along with more panels
Issues 1 & 2: Same ROM and SAME PROBLEMS for me !!

Issue 3: I dissagree !! Maybe we can't compare because I am on a 850MHz network, but let me tell ya: MY RECEPTION IS SUPER-DUPER-EXCELLENT !!! No complaints here: full bars 90% of the time, everywhere I go
I also have all 3 issues. Am waiting for Rom (for 1st two issues) and Radio (3rd issue) update from sony.
hello xda, ive posted a previous msg about this issue b4, along with others who have the same problem. ive done searches on here and have found that the issues have to do with some version of OPERA. my issue on the other hand is i dont use opera i use SKYFIRE. Does Skyfire use some sort of OPERA? ok now to my issue, (back when i first got my tilt, i had att oem rom 6.1) i now have duttys 6.1. after about a week after i first got the phone, ive been having problems with the phone notifying me of a new msg after about 5-6 sms. ive also noticed that when it fails to notify me, the alarm fails to sound as well. only after a soft reset does it fix its self, until another 5-6 msgs. ive also done the enable/disable threaded msg cab and it doesnt work, both cabs try to disable it. the programs that are installed are. A_C S2U2, bejeweled 2, boz quick menu, s2u2c, phm reg edit, skyfire browser, spb backup, and tilt keyboard fix for cooked roms. <-THESE ARE ONES IVE ADDED, if you need to know all thats one there that was cooked in, please pm me. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME. im gettin tired of this issue. att no longer carrys the phone for a insurance claim and im not sending it to HTC and being without a phone. im starting to think its more of a hardware issue than a software issue, if flashing it doesnt solve the problem. Thanx in advanced and sorry for such a long post. also b4 anyone says anything, everything is still checked to sound and vibrate under notifications and sounds.
John
One option you could try is to disable then re-enable the sounds.
Are you sure theat the phone is not temporarily muting the sounds. You could try manually switching the sound off on the volume icon next to the top right X and then re-enabling it.
Have you tried the hard reset?
That will determin if it's hardware or not.
to gilligan8
yes i have done the hard reset several times and it also does it with every rom i flash to the phone
to Elwyn M3100
thanks for the fast reply. no i havent switched the phone volumn to off and then back on. next time it messes up i will do that be i soft reset. if it is muting its self what could this mean the issue is?
But it doesn't do it till you flash it with a rom?
not a flashed rom issue
I have had this problem from about a week after getting my phone. I had this issue with the att oem 6.1 rom after I noticed the problem I contactecd att for a replacement, only to find that they have disscontinued it. id had to trade in the phone for something diff, cuz I love everything about this phone except my sms issuse. trust me I've searched and searched hard about how to fix this and have had quite a few good solutions, but nothin seems to work. I believe this is a hardware issue and not software. I just hope someone has the same issue that I do and nows how to fix it. thank you all for ur help
Being a computer guy this really doesn't sound like hardware... why would a hardware failure be so consistent? 5-6 times then soft start brings it back.
i do believe it is hardware related because i still have the problem even when i reflash to a new diff rom. after i receive anywhere from 5 to 6 msgs it then fails to sound on the following msg. the only way i can get it to resound is to perform a soft reset.
I had exactly the same problem and realised it was just the radio needed changing.
what radio are u running? i have 1.65.14.06 i also had this same issue with the stock att rom and radio
