{ 03-02-2008 } - STK for WM6 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 6 Upgrading

Hey guyz..the long awaited..please try this STk version..i hope it works or i will try some more stuff
Just download and install the CAB file..for advanced users i have posted only the files..but now i have attached a CAB file also

How do you make this work?

@ather90
Not working for me.
Installing .cab always results in "...the installation was unsuccessful".
Trying to reconstruct .cab .xml actions results in no action on running stk.lnk from Programs.
Maybe you can share some more info on how to organize file on Hima (what services should run, maybe files to startup, etc.)
Thanks in advance.

copying the file on the first zip file, still STK doesn't work.
and
cab won't succesfully install.
thanks.

Can someone help me please ?

After my first hard reset my qtek g100 lost the midlet manager link the jmm.exe also. Is there any way to install midlet manager again ?
thank you
Have you lost only the shortcut to jmm.exe or the complete application. If it's only the shortcut then you can easily create one with the built-in file explorer. If the whole application is gone, then check the ftp site for the cab file under the Extended ROM folder.
Downloaded the 'WM5 BA - TuMa v1.3 - Release' zip file and extracted the MidletManager-TuMa CAB. Passed it to the QTEK g100 storage card and instaled it. No errors so far. After installation made a soft reset. Midlet Manager link was there in Programs. The jmm.exe, etc also installed ok. However clicking the link or the jmm.exe file directlly nothing happens. What am I doing wrong ?

how can I extract .cab file from a windows install

For a lot of program's i don't need a desktop to setup my PDA. But some programs like .net from microsoft, oziexplorer, citrix, resco-fileexplorer can only be installed from a windows-PC.
is there a way to extract or keep-from-a-temporary-space the .cab file that must be somewhere during the install.
wouldn't it be nice to totally rebuild your system with one button after flashing/testing a new ROM or after a empty-battery situation on holiday.
Strangely enough, this is exactly what I do. I stick to cab downloads where possible (keeping them on the SD) but there are ways to extract the cabs from the installer where there isn't one available. Theres a couple of ways you can:
1. Sometimes the installler is built on a zip and you can just open the exe in winzip. If you have winzip shell extensions installed you get an "open in winzip" option on the right-click menu.
2. If that doesn't work, run up the installer and proceed the the part where it copies it to the phone. There are two places you can find the cab. The first is on your PC in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\. Sort by date to find the most recent file. The other place is on the phone itself...the installer actually copies the cab to the phone the installs it. I think you can find the cab in \Windows\AppMgr but it's been a while and that may be wrong.
some apps will put their cab on m$ activesync dir.
have u try sprite backup to backup ur system including storage.
Guy's,
thanks for your info. Got it complete in cab files on my storagecard now. Some i found in programfiles/activesync on the desktop. Sometimes it wasn't clear which cab file to use, so i started the install from the desktop. Then on the PDA when the question comes about where to install, then i started fileexplorer to see where the temporary cab file is. They all where in windows/appmgr/install.
thx,

TyTN II - installing cabs

Help
Ok thanks to this helpful site I have flashed my ROM with Dutty's v3 beta and I must say its fantastic. But...
...I need to add Remote Desktop and I have downloaded it from Dutty's cabs but I haven't a clue on how to install it!
Can any one help?
Thanks.
How to run a cab (?)
Well, if it is that what you are asking, just copy the .cab file into a folder at your card or phone and execute it. Cab is the equivalent to .exe files on PC's.
NOTE: During the installation, you have to specify where to install, device or card. For this specific application, (remote desktop) you should install it at your device as some issues have been reported when installed on an extension card.
Seems so daft now - thanks for that - got confused as WinRaR just opened it and showed the contents on the PC.
Anyways, working now. Thanks again.

Simple instructions for getting POINTUI installed on XDA11i

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simple instructions for installing the POINTUI program onto my XDA11i .
Thank you.
The recommended way is to install the WM5 cab and then copy the files for the WM2003 version over the WM ones installed on Program files pointui home 1.02b, that way you get registry entries and things are in their correct places.
Thanks for the reply BUT I am a complete novice in these matters - as such I have NO IDEA what you just said
Thanks anyway though !!
I got to this stage but not sure what to do ..
http://www.pointui.com/Home.aspx
OK I am useless at all this technical stuff .
All the other programs I managed to get on my XDA11i were simple to install .
I downloaded a file anf clicked to run then they loaded automatically onto my XDA.
IS there a similar method for the POINTUI program .... PLEEEEEEASE
Sadly not for WM2003 but you are nearly there, I put a step by step on the other link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374360&page=2 persevere it is worth it. You only need to copy some files over the ones installed by the cab file
Hope this tutorial could help you
1. Download CAB Installer from Pointui website then copy the file to your PDA
2. Click the file on your PDA to install it
3. Download this file http://www.pointui.com/files/tests/1...me.ppc2003.zip
4. Double click that zip file and extract to \Program Files\PointUI\Home\1.02b\ ( It's at your PDA directory )
5. It will ask to overwrite and just answer Yes.
6. Click on file name Home to run the application.
To make it run automatically when you soft reset the device you need to create shortcut to Startup folder
1. Copy filename Home and paste shortcut to \Windows\Startup\ ( PDA Directory )
2. Done
p/s: Its based on robsno step. Thanks
Thanks very much for your time and effort .
Sadly I will have to wait a whil longer as I am not technical enough to follow your insructions.
As I mentioned previously - All the other programs I managed to get on my XDA11i were simple to install .
I downloaded a file and clicked to run then they loaded automatically onto my XDA.
IS there a similar method for the POINTUI program YET ??
Guess not !!??

[Q] Create cab files from installed application

Hi..i've already search for a topic regarding to this, and most of the findings only talks about how to edit it or combine it and such that it will be installed automatically. However, my main question is that how would i make/create a cab file for applications which had been installed into the phone?as there are some application which i had updated it through the phone and it will take some time if i intended to install it back in case i've formatted my phone. So any help would be appreciated and if there's somewhere it had been discussed before please show me the way..thank you
Anyone? Need some help here. Thank you.
It's not completely impossible, but very impractical.
To "cab" (to make it a verb) something, you'd need to know every single file the program uses (sometimes, applications install dll's into the windows folder) and every registry key as well. You'd have to gather all these files and then create a new cab and import them to the proper paths.
I believe SKTools has an option to view what files a program uses.
It's next to impossible for applications that are installed through an installation DLL in the cab - it's hard to track what exactly changes when you install these apps.
Best way to do it though - find the original cab. You could try to combine cabs, but it'd get messy, best use an automatic cab installer then.
Thank you
Thank you for the reply. From ur opinion it is indeed difficult to find the changes made especially with the updates involved. Thank again.
Well it is really simple, just have to know if it has any keys in the registry, what dependencies it has like any dll or other things and then you use visual studio and make a smart device cab ant put in there the files in the folders needed, the shortcut and the key registry you compile the cab and in less then a minute you have a cab
