Id love a large battery bar that stretches across the entire today screen. Not just tiny bars and tiny percent signs or large battery icons that display no information. Does anything like this exist? Thanks!

Alternatively, u can try magicbutton. It has an option which allows you to distance the battery bar at the top of the screen in a discreet manner
apologies..typo error- "display" i mean
iLauncher from SBSH also offers a complete indication line for the battery (or other stuff)...
Tell us what u finally did and if u like it plz

Thats why there is an EDIT button.
I have been using "Batti 2.1" for more than 1.5 years on WM5 and WM6 devices. It has been very reliable and very small in size (~ 100 kb). It spans across the Top.

yeah i'm with steel77. batti is a very useful program. it allows you to not only choose the colour of your battery bar, but the height in pixels, percent graduations and low and critical power alarm points. all that and it stays on top in all applications. this is what you need!
wkTask also has an discrete and nicely blending bar, and is the best task manager i know (MUCH better than MagicButton which uses quite some sys ressources) .. oh and it's free of course

Wow Batti 2.1 is a kickass program for a battery bar!

please help !
just soft reset the XDA2i about ten times and it will apper again.
Naviator
It doesn't. I've got the same problem here. I'm going to remove applications one by one as I'm afraid it's some third party software that's responsible for that icon's disappearance.
Will keep you posted.
Mine keeps disappearing too so to save time I just assigned the voice record button to rotate the screen. Still works even if the icon isnt there.
OK, in my case, the culprit was SPB Diary.
I've just sent a message to SPB Support. I'll also examine the CAB, see if it does anything weird with the registry that might interfere with the icon (who knows ?).
Right ... The CAB doesn't touch anything apart from its own software version key. I went to edit the HKLM/Software/GID/Rotation "Hide" key, but it was already "0" (ie "don't hide").
So I'm afraid this really is a problem caused by SPB Diary. Thankfully SPB Pocket Plus has "rotate left/right" items you can add to your today plugin...
I've had my XDA IIi for over a year and probably had the rotate icon on the screen for 2 weeks in total! For me what software i used wasn't an issue, in fact very occasionally it would return for a few days by it's self before going again!
Unless you find an app to keep it on screen u'll have to live with it...
Great battery gauge for WM6:

The two programs represent two different concepts.
VistaHide doesn't show battery in percentage (%).
Ariel battery does, and thus it is more accurate
in that case thats OK with me..but every ones has their own opinion
Vista Hide
I vote for vista hide as well. It doesn't take up much real estate on the screen and gives a visual indication of the battery charge. I like to have a visual cue to my battery charge at any time and vista hide does that. The overhead is minuscule and to be honest, although dcd put % charge in the battery meter in his new 1.7.0 ROM, I really don't need to know the charge to the nearest percent. I just need to know whether the charge is approximately i.e "do I need to stick the PDA on charge anytime soon or not?"
But I agree that we each have our own preferences. For me I like to keep the taskbar free for X-button apps display. And vista hide is the only way to achieve what I need.

Ariel battery is great, exactly what I was looking for! I prefer it over vista hide personally.. I like the % and I can see it in my today screen (where my phone sits the most) it takes up a negligable amount of screen real estate as well... that useless top left corner. Thanks a bunch!
I found this two strange icon intermittent appear on the top bar just on the left hand side of the ActiveSync icon, what are they ?

You have the US Redneck version of GPS loaded. That little icon with the rounded top represents what is known as a “Porta-potty” in the US. This program is designed to find a “Good Place to Sh*t” and will find the closest Porta-potty for like when folks from down south are cursing around in their pick-up trucks after eating at Taco Bell. Simply tap 3 times on the icon and it will locate the nearest construction site with a Porta-potty so you can have a GPS.
(Sorry – don’t even know how or why this pooped, err I mean popped, into my mind)

The red squiggles show where I think a clue could be placed to show there are more items in the list. It could be an arrow key or any standard method of indicating there are moe things out of view. The red and green arrows are just possible alternatives. The programs touch flo screen could do with the same as it is not OBVIUOS there are more items to be seen.
A nice silver triangle button that fades when there are no more items would be cool.
Some may ask why I suggest this interface usability tweak (in any format). Good question.

Hmmmm......after using TF3D or even READING THE MANUAL it is obvious that there are more items to display.....
Don´t need an arrow in e.g. the contacts application to remind me that there is more than just one page.......but then again, that´s just me.......
BTW: I´ve long turned off TF3D for a less funky but faster and more usable interface.....
But
RTFM and learning are not available to the people who are not 'lovers' of the technology.
They pick it up, look at it, and don't enquire..
Many business users are almost or over, half a century old.
They wouldn't see the value of XDA Developers, etc.

If anyone, for any reason, does not read the manual of the device, they don't deserve to use its full potential.
I TRIED MANY WIDGET and i found this the best. IT IS WP WIDGET. IT IS VERY LIGHT ABOUT 190 KB

How does it react to the e ink screen?
In other words, does it ghost a lot?
Also, why is your post in all caps?

It has weather, battery, time, date, various shapes.
It has web gallery where other people share their creations (there is more than 4000 designs at the moment).
If you don't want to pay for editor, you can use widgets from gallery for free using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hubalek.android.makeyourclock.gallery.pro Only disadvantage is that you don't have editor :-(
How does it look on the nook touch?
I used sense Analog clock widget from the market for awhile. pretty complete look at what your are referencing in a 4*2 package. They also make a mini the packs the same info and graphics into a small space. These are both free from the market, and have standard features like launching an app of your choosing by pressing minutes, hours, etc.

I looked all over for WP WIDGET but I'm not finding anything that looks like the pic in post 1.
