I have an AT&T Tilt, and a friend of mine showed me his HTC device and I absolutely loved the look/feel. So in my attempt to add on every HTC schema, the new Comm Manager ended up looking very strange compared to that of the stuff I'd seen online. I tried installing different versions and doing a hard reboot, but all failed. Here is a screenshot of what I'm dealing with:

This is just a minor issue, but I found that I will have to do a factory reset on the device to get it back to standard appearance. Bummer :-/
If anyone can let me know what's going on or any advice, I'd be more than happy to hear from ya.
Thanks!

Which install did you use that left you in that state?
I have a stock AT&T Tilt and I used DuttyThroy Black 3G Comm Manager.
you can find it in one of the top stickies that has an FTP link to his store of software: Collection of the Latest Cabs ...
Here is the new FTP Link: http://duttythroy.lives-in.eu/
in the Cabs section: duttythroy 3g comm manager (working).cab
Proto,
After removing the previous Comm Manager, and installing the Dutty release you sent me to, it is blank. As in, the same small square background appears, with no text. This shows after a system reset. I uninstalled the Dutty version and it still appears this way.
I will most likely to a system reboot back to factory settings and start all over, using the Dutty release this time.
Thanks for the link, looks like the Dutty site has a great collection.

I had the same problem with the dutty 10 key comm manager, all black with no buttons or text. After several uninstalls and soft resets I installed the 6 button comm manager and it has been working fine ever since. I suggest trying the 6 button comm manager before you hard reset.
my problem with the 10 button comm manager was that i didn't see the buttons, only the labels (the text). after installing on the device,not on the storage card the problem was solved. try it

I know there is a similar thread in xda-developers > Wizard, but I can't create any shortcut. Maybe the settings for TyTN II and Wizard are difference?
Can anyone please provide codes for:
1. Power Off
2. Wifi On/Off
3. Bluetooth On/Off
4. Data Connection On/Off <-- I presume this is to disconnect GPRS/EDGE/3G, no?
Thanks in advance...

the wifi and bt appearing in the tray in that photo are from a different program. the battery meter program that is running also controls the wifi and bt icons to appear in tray.

Thanks NguyenHuu for the reply.
Is TrayLaunch able to display WiFi and Bluetooth in tray?
I don't need BatteryStatus, just the codes to use in TrayLaunch.

Yes, try making a shortcut with this - I found it last night and it worls for me on my Tilt:

Is tere a small program (kind of like vibra switc) that if you pres it, it just closes all programs like instead of going to start_settings_system_memory_close all. i'd like to assign it to a button. thanks
wktask has that built in its features. You can either do a gesture to do close all or just hold the top corner(where the x would be) to close all programs.
its free at http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
It's in my original TyTN II without any custom ROM.

Thanks. I already have the HTC manager but i want to ditch it because it's really slow. I just want a really simple 1 icon program that shuts off all current running programs. Basically i assignt it to the PTT button and it shuts it all off. I don't want a separate manager that does it, i already have that. Thanks
So there's no such app?
this is what you want, I along w/many others use it and it's great, the close all is just a small feature of what it does. http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-wktask-v1-1-7-3b.html
Thanks for the link, but not what i want. Just a simple close all program (few kb's) is what i'm looking for.
for me i once used "zapIT!"
but i guess since i´m running netcf3.5 it is not working anymore and freezing your device.
you can assinge it to a hardwarebutton also...

even if it was annoucend in the thread i got it to close ALL apps. never did for me - yes you´re right.
but i like the function of assinging...
Ah i see. I use aebutton plus for what you are talking about. I have a long press of the Ok button to close the app. But i need one that stops all current running apps.
Hi
I bought a MDA Vario last week and installed Ftouchflo v4.1 and Slithers SCPLC++ Cube and it appears to have messed up my Start Menu.
I have a white start menu with just icons on it when I open up the start menu and no names beside the icons. Also the start menu is much longer than usual with icons repeated 3 or 4 times.
I uninstalled Ftouchflo and deleted the cube application, did numerous soft resets and still no joy. I also saw in another thread that installing the large start menu fixes the problem but it didn't for me as the links on the large start menu didn't work properly
Has anyone got a fix for this? can i replace the start menu with something else that will fix this problem?
also if i do a hard reset to eliminate the problem will my phone be simlocked again? it was originally locked to t-mobile and I don't want it to be simlocked to that again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hard resets shouldn't lock your phone again. Especially if you've flashed to a different ROM.
As for your start menu problem, try Quick Menu (attached).
I always use this on any ROM I use, it's miles better than the start menu that comes with WM, and there's loads of options too. Give it a go, and see if this solves your start menu issue.
No install required, simply unzip the folder to your phone/SD card and run the .exe
thanks very much.
I am still running the original rom at the moment... i'm tenative about flashing a new rom as this is my first WM phone (coming from a SE W950) so its a big knowledge leap for me so i'm just installing apps one by one. I won't hard reset just yet
I'll try the alternative start menu you attached this evening as i can't use active sync on my office computer. thanks again for replying so quickly
The White Start Menu is a bug in the cube 51 version, supposed to be fixed when 52 is released. It is because of the plus (+) symbols in the recent programs list.
Try clearing this (http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj/ClearRecent.html)
The enlarge start menu Cab will be in the Dev and Hacking forum in the extracted HTC cabs thread.
Thanks
Dave
Generic white Icons in start menu
I have a weird issue with the start menu on the Tilt, All the apps that I have installed to the memory card and have pinned to the start menu appear with the generic white icon. I never had this problem with the 8525.
I know some people say to never install apps to the memory card but the apps work fine just the start menu icon is the problem.

On occasion, the icons will show as normal then go back to generic white. I'm sure it all has something to do with being installed on the memory card.
I have searched the forum and haven't found any thread relating to this. When I open my tilt into landscape mode to access the keyboard, an annoying scrollbar appears (b/c portrait is obviously longer than landscape in height), and when I close the tilt, I am left with an ugly void the size of a scrollbar on the right side. Some other times the screen will be stretched out when back in portrait mode (as if it's still in landscape but displaying in portrait). I am running Dutty's Apr29 WM6.1 Hybrid ROM w/ radio 1.65.14.06
Any ideas? This wasn't happening before.. I understand that one of my options is to just leave my today screen with just the htc bar above where "Owner" is, but I want to figure out why this issue is happening.
When I go to landscape mode:

Another Issue:
2.) When I click the device lock button from the quicklaunch of HTC home, before when hitting it, it would go back to the main screen, but now it stays there.
I apologize if these issues have been brought up, but I have been searching for quite some time and haven't made any progress.
i had the same problem with scroll bar and the problem was in HTC Task Manager. if you have installed any version of this just try to uninstall it. i read somewhere that task manager should be installed first after rom upgrade. i tried all 2.x versions of HTC Task Manager and had this problem with all of them.
When you have your HTC Home plugin on top, try to "lock" the plugin.
You can do that with HTC Home Customizer or Advanced Config.
That will solve you issue, when switching landscape to portrait.
Try use Kaiser Tweak and set the HTC Home to locked.This might sort problem out.
Problem seems to be solved! Thanks all!

Had the same problem and this worked.
Thanks!
So, I got impatient with the plain, boring icons in the newer 6.5 builds and I put together some DLL's that are compatible with 23060.
Here's the screenshot:
{

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Obviously, I've stolen from all over the place (tsowen and others) and I've also made some personal taste alterations. Hope you like my choices.
FYI, if you're on 23060 and you're using the Windows dialer, like I am, your Bluetooth icon won't show up. That's a problem in the current Windows build. Also, I haven't been able to pull out the notify.dll.0409.mui so I can fix the alarm notification icon. (Anyone care to help?) But other than those two caveats, every icon I use seems to be covered here.
Just open the attached Zip and dump the files in your Windows directory. I did this by simply connecting to ActiveSync and browsing the folder on my desktop. Say yes to the overwrite and soft reset.
As usual, no guarantees that your device will survive this. Use at your own risk.
I put these on NRG's Sense 2.5 ROM on my Tilt 2 and they look to work fine.
Here's an updated version.
This is confirmed to work with Energy's ROM from 9/29/2010. (21680)
I included the bluetooth masks in the ZIP, so you can have the snazzy Bluetooth icon as well.
Just unzip everything here into your Windows folder and do an overwrite followed by a soft reset.
Be advised that mucking around with the notify.dll file can cause new these WM builds to not connect to ActiveSync or to suddenly fail to install Cabs. I had to hard reset to figure out that notify.dll was the reason no Cabs would install. So, I left it out of my package. Everything else seems harmless enough.
To get rid of any of these components, just navigate to it via Total Commander, do a rename and the original version attached to your ROM will take it's place after a soft reset.
