i don't know... I have unlimited text because i need it, probably using about oh i dunno 2500+ a month in and out. I can honestly say i cant remember the last time i needed a line break in a 160 character message LOL

Dig. I guess I didn't factor in legitimate business use. Probably 60% of my business communications are done through the phone feature, and 40% through e-mail, most of my associates are oblivious to how the text function works or refuse to learn t9. Those that have fancy qwerty phones presumably have email also, so sms is not even a consideration. I guess what i'm trying to say is; I text chicks, just give me the option to "send by carriage return" like any IM client which threaded sms closely mimics.

You can already see how many characters you are typing. And it's Counting until 160 Characters as 1 message.
It is in NEW SMS as same as in Thread SMS:
Or do you mean something else?

It looks a lot like the poorly duck pds dialer... only the second button - Call history - is red on that one and text, no icon. Hope this helps.

Everyone was way nicer than they probably should have been. Gotta tell you it takes some pretty big " cajones " to come on a site like this, ask a question that is the subject of at least 1000 ? posts. Then tell everyone you don't feel like searching, just answer the question.

In version 2 the icons are click and linkable, rather than the hard to press indicators! I also change the icons.

This will be a COMPLETE theme...and yes it takes time....lol. I do plan on making metamorphs for a green version with red accents, a pink version with aqua accents (for my girl), a minimal (black and white), and possibly more like blue and orange or something.....

I know but plan on wiping all of them out....all white on black is my hopeful end result...I want this to be a total sense change and not just a red honeycomb theme....Like I said I'm open to and appreciate any help....

It seems like there are lots of people wanting to theme but struggling with .xml edits, and where to find things. Over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to work on a guide of the edits you’ve seen in my releases. Going through this I am going to assume you know how to decompile and recompile an apk.
Progress bars
The first one I’m going to do is the progress bars. I know I’ve read this one in another guide, but I’m going to go a bit more in depth with it.
File that will be modded here are res/drawable/progress_horizontal.xml and res/values/styles.xml.
Starting with the progress_horizantal.xml
First the background that is filled by the progress bar.

Things that you might want to change here is the how the ends of the bar look and the color.
The end are controlled by <corners android:radius="6.0dip" />. If you want it flat you would enter 0.0dip here.
The color is controlled here: <gradient android:startColor="#ff7d7f94" android:endColor="#ff6f7285" android:angle="270.0" android:centerColor="#ff6f7285" />. As you can see there are 3 places where you can choose a color, top, bottom, center, in that order.
These same rules also apply to the bar itself in this string and can be edited the same way.

I would suggest the value of <corners android:radius="6.0dip" /> be the same in all of the stings of this xml file.
Next I’ll cover the height of the bar which is in the styles.xml.
This string controls things like the volume bar and download progress bars.

Here you adjust <item name="maxHeight">12.0dip</item> and <item name="minHeight">12.0dip</item>. The larger the number the bigger the bar will be. I suggest keeping these numbers the same in both the max and min.
This string follows the same rules and controls the progress bars in the settings.

I'm going to ask it here since its a .xml (I think), but would you happen to know what file controls the color of the text on buttons? I'm stuck because it looks like this:

Damn dude! lol
Umm not completely sure on this one, but I would bet it's in the styles.xml. I would search for "@color/primary_text_light", and change the light to dark, or search
"?textColorPrimaryInverse" which is black text, and remove the inverse which changes it to white. You could also add a color code #ff000000 format, but then you would also need to add a string to define the font size as well.
Some of these menus are actually in the smali, but I do't think this one is. Pretty sure I changed this once by mistake a few months ago.
I was searching through the framewroks, and I could have sworn it was in the colors folder of twframework-res, but I can't get it to recompile.

It's most definitely changeable, just gotta find it. I've been busy as crap as of late, and just haven't had the time to look.

Great guide Shane. If there was more handy little threads like this and threads that Dreams has done things would be so more simple the for the average themer.

Thanks, Time is not permitting much for me right now. I really want to do the one for the puzzle lock and how to modify that.
